"Oh Snap" Tuesday....

Good Morning Everyone! I was so taken with the letter Doughnuts Michelle is getting for Bri for her birthday that I googled more photos of them. I think they are THE cutest thing ever. :)

What is everyone up to today? It's starting to clear outside and it's going to get warmer this afternoon. Jim and I are actually thinking of heading down to the Rideau Canal to go for a skate today and to go check out the ice sculptures. We need to get our skates sharpened first.

We may just eat leftover Roast Beef if we're back late.

    Wishing everyone a great Tuesday!

    Good Morning Everyone.

Donuts, no matter what shape they come in, are always good. I've seen them done in heart shapes for Valentines day. I haven't had a donut in forever. Need to find a good place where they make them fresh and with real ingredients ... but then again, maybe I don't. LOL!

Going to clean up my chicken breasts shortly and get them in the crock pot for the chicken and rice recipe I picked for IMI2.

We did go back out yesterday. I laid down and did take a little nap after our first jaunt out and I could see DH really had his heart set on looking for shoes so we went back out and went to the outside mall because they have a Sketchers store. Didn't find anything and then walked around and went in other stores that had shoes/sneakers but nothing appealed to him. I know now what he is looking for and will go on-line today and order something. He wants something with a squarer toe so his are not so crowded. Merrell and Keen fits that bill so I'll look today and order something.
We got dinner out because it was getting late and he needed to eat. We ate at Ford's Garage and they have outside seating, LD was with us. I got a salad with grilled chicken and DH got a filet, mashed potatoes, and green beans.

Will probably go to the gym later in the afternoon.

My husband does not care for "This is Us" either Janet which is why I taped it and watch it myself.
You are so lucky you didn't hit that deer. Scary indeed.

Working on the your other storage room will be a good indoor project Joce. Like you said, you have stuff to go thru and toss. Is it just stuff in that room? or do you have something big in it to move?

Holy Cow on the high heat bills Karen! Are you sure you don't want to move further south?
$5 for a pound of grass fed beef is a great price. Here it's about $9 and it's not even that good, I find it to be tough.

Hope you are able to catch up on rest Kimmer. Stress will wipe you out. Get some rest and try and take it easier too. Sounds like both you and DH could use a day on the couch just watching movies.

Morning Linda! Too bad your DH didn't find any shoes yesterday but like you say, now you know what he's looking for you can order it online and it's likely you will get a better price that way anyway. Your dinners sounded really yummy.

I just realized that the recipe I'm using calls for Lipton Chicken Flavored Rice ... guess what ... I don't know what it is! My intent was to substitute regular rice then it dawned on me is the rice the recipe calls for instant, precooked, what?? So I put the chix breast in the crockpot with the soup (equivalent of 2 cans) and half cup of water. I'll make the rice on the side. It'll still be good and I'll find another recipe for the crockpot. Oh well.

I've never bought Lipton Chicken flavoured rice before Linda, and I'm not even sure I've seen it in the stores. You might have been able to sub some Minute rice and a bit of Better bouillion but I'm just guessing.

Made a Tomato and Cheese omelette with hot sauce for brekkie. Gotta get cleaned up and head out.

Cool doughnut numbers, Janet. Enjoy your skate it is a perfect day for it. Glad your roast turned out. Yikes on the deer being so close!

I don't think I have ever seen Lipton flavoured rice. Knor one's I have seen but not sure about the chicken flavour. I would use Better Than Bouillion.

No doubt you need a bit of a rest yourself, Kimmer. You were very keyed up before his surgery. Now it is time to take care of you.

Den is painting away again today. I am going to get my hair cut this afternoon so that should feel really good after. We just had a toasted Western sandwich for lunch and it was really good. I bought some already chopped frozen onions to try the other day and they turned out very well. I hate chopping onions when I only need a little bit like that for the western. We are having pork tenderloin for dinner tonight. I am not sure about the side at the moment b/c I will pick some veggies at Foodamith's when I am out.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Goodness! Quiet in here today! Go Den! :) Hope you are pleased with your hair cut. Jim and both love Toasted Westerns .I've never bought frozen chopped onions before. And I've also never thought about freezing onions I've chopped myself. What do you think?

Jim and I had a really nice day. We got our skates sharpened then headed down to the canal and had a skate. I'm VERY rusty but I'm proud of myself that I got out there and more importantly, I didn't fall!!!!! :)

We checked out the Ice Sculptures in Confederation Park and then we went to "Oxhead Restaurant" and had a wonderful bowl of Chicken and Rare Beef Pho. Home for a hot tub which felt FANTASTIC and now we're settling in by the fire with the Sens Game about to start. Will warm up some leftover roast beef when we get hungry later.

    Hi everyone.

Cute donut pictures Janet. I have screeched to halt on J Hwy when a buck decided it was his lane and stood his ground. They get a bit testy during the rut. Even a small one can damage your vehicle.

Glad your DH has ordered some shoes Linda. Nothing is worse than a tight shoe! No thanks to moving South. Georgia temperatures were too much for me, esp. with the high humidity. So I will trade my twice a year ice storms and scattered snowfalls for cool temps. Ha ha. I would ha be made the rice, the n fixed the rest separately, also. But I don't like flavored rice or instant, so it wouldn't be a problem. LOL! Kind of like Janet and broccoli!

Hi Joce. We both need hair cuts. I really need to call for an appt. Den is certainly on a roll.

We went to St Robert, ran errands, and had a chiropractor appt. then stopped by the commissary. I now have celery, spinach, oranges (the small ones that are advertised for kids), etc. etc. etc. We got a rotisserie chicken, it is in the oven on low while the potatoes cook. I still have non-perishable to put away.
