Good Morning Everyone! All but one is up and at 'em. I'm going to make smoothies and crumpets with jam for breakfast this morning. The girls are quite entranced with the deer and turkeys moseying around the yard close to the house. Very cute. :)

Making a frozen lasagna for lunch before we all head out downtown to participate in the Roger's Hometown Hockey activities at Lansdowne Park this afternoon. Our company is packing up after lunch and are staying with their Mom's brother this evening so they can head off from there tomorrow morning to head back to St. Catharines. It's been busy.

Sens Game on tonight and I'll wear my Sens jersey to the Hometown Hockey event this afternoon. GO SENS GO!

Hope everyone has a great day!

It sounds like your company had a great time. You are a a great hostess, Janet! The pix of the girls baking cupcakes was so cute. Have a good time this afternoon at the Hockey event.

It is a quiet morning. Coffee is perking. Fritz is harassing the cats. Mauser has gone into hiding to escape the wild dog. I am still in my pj's, trying to type while Trouble attempts to walk across the keyboard. Wayne is scanning TV channels before deciding on breakfast.
GS is in St. Louis at a swim meet.

Low battery sign just popped up on my laptop so have to close and plug it in to charge. Have a nice day.

    Good Morning Everyone!

It seems like your company just got there Janet and now are ready to leave. Time goes quickly. Enjoy the activities and the park and the game tonight.

Quiet mornings are good mornings Karen. I'm slow to wake up and get going myself.

I'm happy its the weekend. It'll give me some time to clean up the papers on my desk and perhaps get some neglected tasks done. I have 5 more windows to wash and put the screens back in and maybe if it warms up enough today I'll get some of that done too. I have all good intentions on making a bean and bacon soup but we will see, maybe that'll wait till tomorrow. Had a smoothie for breakfast (pineapple, grapes, and blackberries) that I added Kefir too. I really like the combination of ingredients and bought more at the store yesterday that I need to portion and freeze but this time I want to add some spinach. We have some stucco cracking around one of the windows that I need to find out how to patch. DH always took care of stuff like that. He can help me patch it but I don't know what to buy so I'll have to make some phone calls. That's about it for now. Will probably grill a steak for DH tonight and not sure what I want.

Have a lovely morning Karen. LOL @ Fritz terrorizing the cats. Good luck to your GS in his swim competition.

Good luck with your tasks Linda. I'm forgetting what Kefir is now. I'll have to go google it. The people at your Hardware store should be able to instruct you on what materials to purchase to patch your window. Is it just putty that has come loose around the window? or the drywall is damaged by the window? Stucco is generally that pebbly stuff that is sometimes on ceilings or the fine skiff of plaster on a wall. Grilled steak sounds awesome.

I've got the kitchen cleaned up, the birds fed, and the girls in the tub. Fun to hear happy little highpitched voices. :)

LOL Janet, you had me confused! I thought your company had driven from Montreal for some reason? I am glad the girls were able to make the cupcakes and decorate them. Have fun this afternoon. GO SENS GO!

LOL Karen, you have a handful with the cats and Fritz:)

Generally, stucco is made out of cement, Linda and it would depend on the size of the crack etc. I would ask around about how to fix it for sure.

Den did the grocery shopping this morning and also brought back MacDonald's for breakfast/brunch Lol now I am stuffed. I know Den is having cheeseburgers and oven fries for dinner and at the moment I don't have a clue what I am having.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

They build the houses here with cinderblock and then stucco the outside. I know we had cracks around one window before and DH had fixed it but I don't know what he used. I'll call the builder Monday and find out. I hate to go to the stores and ask because half the people don't know what they are doing. They are small hairline cracks but can run long and when the rainy season comes the last thing you want is water seeping in.

I see your in the same camp as me Joce ... what to have for dinner??

You're not confused Joce, you are absolutely correct as usual. :) Our visitors were up in Montreal visiting their cousins first and then drove here and then are heading home to St. Catharines. :) Yummer on McD's for brekkie and yum on Den's cheeseburger tonight too. I've really been craving a burger and I need to fix that.

Ohh....it's cracks on the outside of the house Linda.

Lol Janet, I was a bit confused when you said the ages of the girls b/c I think the ones that live in Montreal are a bit younger. Lol it is hard to keep up with Jim's family sometimes:) Den has just finished cleaning the house from top to bottom all I have to do is clean the bathroom sinks, counters and toilets and we are done for awhile. I still don't know what I am going to have for dinner. Hmm...maybe Chinese, lamb chops, scallops or something else? Nothing really appeals to me at the moment.

Hi Linda and Joce, hi again Janet.

Daughter called earlier to say her car was making strange noises....like a turbine sound, constant. Wayne is trying to diagnose possibilities. We have a trailer but the tires are horrid and won't do the trip of approx. 200 miles round trip. So we either go exchange cars and try to limp home in her car or she drives slowly on the way home tomorrow and calls us if it gets bad. There is heat on the right front by the tire but not bad. We had similar symptoms and I forgot what it was but ??maybe a brake hang up?? Or rotor or whatever. I have one fix to car problems if I am alone, call AAA and tow to nearest dealer and at put me their mercy.

Boo on the stucco, Linda. I guess there would be some stuff that you buy to repair it but, Like you, I don't know what.

Joce, I have no idea what to fix for supper either. Made a pasta salad for pot luck tomorrow that I will post if it is not too similar to ones I already have. Used moonshine pickles and ham and tricolor pasta. Mine are never the same twice. I usually just open the refrigerator door and start pulling out contents.

Janet, I live in a state of perpetual confusion -- LOL! - so you didn't confuse me any more or less. Ha ha! I thought they were leaving today also. Seems like they had a good time.

OK best get up and start moving? Wayne is outside disposing of the possum he shot when it growled and bared its teeth at Fritz, blading the ground by the garage, and digging a trench deeper. The last two tasks involve the tractor so I am not wotrried he will overdo. We may go check game camera pictures again, in which case we will have to grab a pistol because of the feral pigs....when I showed the video to his buddy he said the three big ones looked to be close to 500 pounds!

Jeweler called ref my ring. Will go by Tuesday and look. Am getting anxious to see the progress.

Best scoot. He should be back soon asking me to keep horses away from the gate while he brings the tractor inside. If they are in the paddock we will just close the gate on them. See you later.

It turned out to be a glorious day here! Temp hit 80(f) but there is a slight cool breeze and it's so pleasant. I finished washing the outsides of the windows and getting the screens back in so now I can open windows in any room without worry of little brown lizards coming in or God knows what else. The fresh air smells so good!! and I have some windows open now. Wish it was like today year round, it would be UTOPIA!

Gave LD a bath and he's a nice clean dog now.

See I have some sausages in the fridge so I'll grill up 2 for me for dinner and make a Caesar salad for us both. DH will have a grilled NY Strip steak. No starch tonight.

Hope you figure something out for dinner Joce. I hate those days when nothing appeals to me. That's when I'm happy to have some soup in the freezer or something as it usually means I'm just not that hungry.

Nice Karen your ring is almost done. I so want to see a picture!! Yikes on the nasty opossum. Not good to threaten Fritz. Is your daughter away? Not a good time for the car to be acting up and I too would be calling roadside assistance and getting it in to the local shop for repair at their mercy.

Where is Shona?? Hoping you are lurking and nothing is wrong.

Good afternoon all. Loved the pics on FB of the girls and the cupcakes Janet. Sounds like all have had a good time. Yuk on the daughters car trouble Karen! I'm sure the builder will be helpful Linda. Do you have an Ace Hardware near you? I love ours here. They are always so helpful and trained well. If an employee can't help you they will find a manager that can. Anyway, always our go to store for such things. Plus they always have fresh popcorn popping! Added bonus!! I love McDonalds for breakfast. As a matter of fact, had that yesterday.

Hubs and I need to get out of the house (for non work or grocery related reasons) so we decided to treat ourselves to dinner tonight. Going to PF Chang's. I absolutely love their crispy honey chicken with fried rice. Yummers, can't wait!

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday all!

We do have an Ace Hardware near Kimmer and good suggestion as I do find them more helpful than Lowes or Home Depot. Thanks.
Yummo on PF Changs!! I haven't been in forever. ENJOY!! you deserve the time out.

Hi Kimmer. PF Changs sounds good to me. Seldom able to get Wayne to eat Chinese. Ha ha.

Daughter is in St. Louis. After a zillion texts Wayne and she decided that it was either an exhaust leak or manifold "whatsit" and she could drive back safely. We will be on call if she needs us to "rescue" her, so she decided to not drive to MCD but eat at Banadanas across from the hotel, so she didn't have to drive.

Gotta scoot. Time to do chores. See ya.

I tried three times to add a photo to my last recipe. I guess the combination of our slow internet and bad cell phone service, it would not upload. Sigh.

Hope you managed to think of something that your taste buds would be happy about eating Joce! :)

Goodness Karen on turbine car noises. That can't be good. And oh my on the possum too. You've had an action packed day!

Excellente on being able to reopen the windows LInda. I CAN"T wait until we can do that. It won't come too soon.

That's amusing that Ace Hardware always has popcorn popping Kimmer. :) Fun fun at PF Changs.
