Thank Heavens that the site is still viable. Lesson learned, if we want to keep in contact with each other....please pm email addresses to the GR people you want to keep in contact with personally. The fact the site vanished for 36 hours has scared me silly. If you want to reach me send me a pm with your email.

Also, recommend that you save the recipes that you use regularly so they won't be lost again.

Jim's been craving Lobster this past week and I had a bag of legs and claws and such from Costco down in the freezer so picked up a couple of lovely Rib Eyes and will serve some asparagus on the side for dinner tonight.
Watching the Sens vs. the Penguins. Tied 1-1. Got a fire going. Didn't buy much at the Christmas Market this morning. Beets, apple cider and eggs.

I finally have a moment at home and my goal is to stay in my jammies all day! lol ;) Our marathon doctor appt's are almost over, two MRI's and 3 more dental appt's and we're good until the end of January! We're all getting over colds here as usual, poor Sophia is always sick this time of year.
I cleaned out my freezer today, pulled out a roast beef for tomorrow and we'll have leftover spaghetti and meatballs tonight.
How is the snow/cold out East? We got about a foot of snow so far here in sunny Alberta but we were in the deep freeze for a couple weeks, close to -40's with the wind chill! We should be in the pluses next though, thankfully.
I hope everyone is happy, healthy and warm!

Tina, good idea on the saving recipes. I am using a program I bought for my computer to save mine. It's a bit less friendly than a site but doesn't depend on internet access and that might be important in the next while if I move somewhere that has less internet access than I have now. I got through the interview and they told me I would hear by the middle of next week with their "feedback" which I assumed would be a "thanks but..." or maybe a second interview. Instead they emailed the next day with a request to do reference checks and an online psychometric test to complete. I of course said yes to the reference checks and within the hour they had contacted two of my three references with the whole job description and a set of questions to answer about me and my work. I don't want to get my hopes up too high, but when we hire, we only check references once we have a preferred candidate and we don't pay for testing or anything unless we are pretty sure. Keeping my fingers crossed...
Thursday night, right after all the flurry of activity around the job, our friends came over and we had Lamb Tikka Samosas and Moroccan style chicken. I also made carrots with Moroccan spices and some lemon oven roasted potatoes. As usual, I ate way too much :)
Steak, lobster, asparagus - sounds like a great meal Janet. Hope the Sens do well.
Last night we went to a Regina Jazz Society concert featuring a local band called Black Magic. I used to work with the lead singer when we both taught at the same high school about 16 years ago and with the guitarist at the Ministry of Education about 3 years ago. Small world! It was a great concert and nice to be able to sit and visit and share a bottle of wine along with the music without paying an arm and a leg. Bonus that the venue was about 3 blocks from our house.
Tonight will be some kind of taco soup with some ground beef that needs using and whatever else I can dig out of the fridge, freezer and pantry. I have three students all studying for finals so anything that can be eaten over time when they each are ready to come up from the books for air is a good thing.

Great suggestion Tina to email those you really do not care to lose contact.

I am on allrecipes.com as MissouriFarmWife and do keep an eye on the buzz so am easy to contact, only they don't have pm, anyone can read it.

Did you make the Samosas and if so would you share the recipe? Making samosas has been on my list for a couple of years now! I LOVE them! Sens lost. :( 3-2 but we put in a good effort. :) The Jazz Society concert sounded awesome. Taco soup also sounds awesome!

I did look at FB but no luck. It doesn't have the greatest search mechanism. Glad I found the Friends of Group Recipes page.
