Saturday's Frustrating Slug-Out

  • MissouriFarmWife 5 years ago
Well, not exactly a literal slug fest -- but an argument with the no-sleep fairy. And I lost.
It is 4 PM. I woke at 3 with my mind racing....doggone that blasted fairy!

So I decided to do something boring and tackled my checkbook balance. Ha ha. WRONG decision. The online program insisted I change my password. It would not follow thru so will have to contact them and find out why. Probably operator head space, I thought. At least the checkbook is balanced, though it would not allow the pw change.

OK, so let's notify AAA of the change in credit card number so I can pay for next year's service. Sure. The web site froze up with the comment that something was wacko on its end and try again later (My words.) . Thirty minutes later after trying again, ditto! One more phone call to make to find out what is going on.

It appears to be raining, at least the metal roof on the sun room sounds like a gentle rain. Yippee! Hope we get more. It is needed. At least I don't need a password to check the weather.

Other than being wide awake and frustrated with technology, all is well in Missouri.

I read somewhere that 3 AM is the time most people do wake up in the night, for whatever reason. Maybe we could put a curfew on the no-sleep fairy from midnight to, say, 6 AM. I vote yes.

Have a nice, sleepy night and a good day.

Good Morning Everyone and Happy 1st Day of Autumn. I am already noticing it getting darker earlier. I don't mind.

Ick Karen on getting up so early and then having so many computer related problems trying to do things. It's the ideal way to stay quiet so you don't wake Wayne up but frustrating. Hopefully you won't be all fuzzy-headed today and maybe are able to catch a nap. My DH woke up around 5:30 a.m. and went out on the couch. I guess he had trouble too because he is now sleeping so I'm being quiet.

Holy Cow Janet on the tornado touching down so close to you and the damage it did. When you don't live in an area that gets tornados you really don't see it coming and thus not prepared. Not that you can prepare for one. Frightening indeed.

It rained last night and it was so nice to roll down the shutters on the back lanai and keep the area clean and dry. I'm just loving the pull downs! I'll have to post a picture one day because you can see out them but not in which is even cooler.
Plans today are to clean up the front lanai. I want to get the glass on the back sliders cleaned too.
We went to Carrabbas for dinner last night. DH had chix parm and I had a pasta dish with scallops and shrimp in a vodka tomato sauce.
Will probably do fish tonight since it's what I have the most of in the freezer.

More strong winds overnight. Power went out sometime between 1-3 a.m. We drove a ways to Arnprior (figured out all the local places would be crazy busy or closed) to McDonald`s to get some brekkie but their debit/credit machines were down and the line ups were insane. We`re now at a little restaurant in Pakenham which is also CRAZY busy but another couple said we could sit at their table with them which was really sweet so we are now awaiting some food.

Yikes. What a nasty storm Janet. Sounds more like Florida weather than Canada. Hoping your electric is back on soon. What a mess of things.

I really want this. I however don't need to eat the whole thing and don't have anyone to give half to. I need to get a smaller bunt pan so I can half a recipe and bake. The only half sized bake ware I have is for pies.

We went to another place it was good I got a raisin bread pudding French toast.

Oh and on the cereal topic from yesterday I used to love captain crunch with the crunch berries got that stuff just tears up the roof of your mouth! I still love Golden Grahams. Frutie Pebbles love them too very sugary. Sometimes I mix them with regular rice crispies to cut sugar when I’m craving. Also love chocolate Chex as a snack while watching tv.

Good evening and hello to all. That looks yummy Linda! Wish I lived closer, lol! Could you freeze half before glazing and just glaze as needed? Wow on your weather Janet! Hope things have settled down.

Busy day here. Had 4 errands to run. Actually 5 but saving my main grocery errand for tomorrow. Needed to go to Ace and get a new pot for one of my plants on the porch. The storm we had yesterday knocked it over and broke the clay pot. It was in need of repotting to a larger one anyway but what a mess! Then off to PetSmart as Chloe's pantry was getting bare. And oh Heavens, can't have that! Plus, since it is still hurricane season I like to keep it well stocked so I don't have to worry about her with everything else you have to worry about. Then off to Fresh Market. We are having burgers on the grill tonight (late dinner tonight) and wanted some fresh sirloin. Also wanted a pork tenderloin and their meats are the best! Then to Walmart as I needed to stock the food pantry up with canned goods that I get soooo much cheaper there. Was too pooped to continue on to Publix, plus my meal plan list is not quite complete.

Boys, their friends and daughter have been sick this past week with this nasty head cold and yes...........I have now officially caught it too. The boys friends were over here a lot this last week so quess I got hit by all sides!

Hope all enjoy the rest of Saturday and do try, try to..............Sleep Sweet............as not quite always these days!
