Saturday's Snack?

  • chuckieb 6 years ago
Good Morning ODD'ers!!!!! Happy Saturday! I came across "Powdered Peanut Butter" at Costco the other day. Have you seen it? Anyone use it? I had honestly never heard of such a thing so took a photo to remind myself to google it when I got home.

    I'm gonna pass. :)

It's a GORGEOUS sunny winter's day. The sun is bright and the sky is blue. We have a full day ahead of us. Need to run into town and do errands. I have a TON of ham left in the fridge so I'm tempted to have that for my dinner this evening but Jim had some last night so he may not be so keen.

I'd like to make another batch of Joce's crepes.
Crepes Stuffed With Ham, Swiss Cheese Asparagus
I got 18 out of the last batch and our company ate them entirely up. LOLOL. It's a great thing to have on hand that looks showy but it's easy!!!!

That's a totally reasonable price to have your car windows tinted Linda. Burrowing Owls are SO cool! I've never seen one myself but when Jim and I were in Sunnyvale, CA they had an area there that was protected and I walked out to see if I could spot any.

Jim's got the French Doors all stained and ready to put up so he's itching to be done with errands and get back home so he can install them.

    Have a great Saturday Everybody!

    Good Morning!
I suppose someone might add the powdered peanut butter to a smoothy to get some flavour and protein. Other than that I have no idea what I would do with it. Maybe make up scalloped potatoes to go with the ham for dinner? the very best of luck to Jim hanging the doors.

No much happening here today. It is Camden's BD party this afternoon but b/c I have been under the weather all week I will not be going. I have had some problems I don't feel like mentioning here. Den has gone grocery shopping and after that, he is bringing Macdonald's home for brunch. I am not sure what we are having for dinner yet.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Good Morning Everyone ... another cool morning here in SWFL, breezy too.

I've seen powdered peanut butter in our grocery stores Janet but have not bought it. I just don't know what I would use it for. You can freeze your ham if you are getting tired of eating it or use it in a breakfast quiche for your company? That's great the doors are stained and ready to go!

That's a good use for powdered pb Joce ... a smoothie. Maybe rolling homemade truffles in it too? but then again who needs to be eating that many chocolates. I hope you feel better. Stinks that you can't go to the baby's party because of it.

Not much going on here. Will probably go to the gym this afternoon or maybe to the mall. Not sure. I keep saying I'm going to make pork loin for dinner and then don't but would really like to make one tonight. So ... that's the plan.
I need to get working on my articles for the rabbit rescue's newsletter. We put out a newsletter April-ish time. I'm thinking to write about the artist Susan Wheeler and for my other piece the anatomy of rabbit paws and nails. I'll clear it with the founder of the group and she if she likes the topics. She usually does and over the years has become trusting of my judgement and information I put forth.

Aw Joce, so sorry to hear you've been under the weather. I figured something was going on alright. :( Sending healing get well vibes your way. Feel better soon. Yum on McD's! Hope Camden's Birthday party goes wonderfully.

Yes, I'll totally freeze a lot of the ham Linda. Ham does indeed freeze very well and I use it a fair amount with eggs at breakfast time. A Quiche is a nice idea too. Good luck with your newsletter articles.

Made a tomato cheese omelette with hot sauce for brekkie. Time to clean up the kitchen. Just learned our flight from Toronto to Taipei offers wifi. Hurray! That will help a lot to pass the hours!

Yes it does help to have wifi on long trips. How long is the trip? Do you have to be at the airport 2 hours before the flight too?

    Hi everyone.
I don’t know if I mentioned this before but my boss Nick owns 2 Edible Arraingements stores with his mom so I ordered one to send to my mom in Florida. Nick said just tell my mom. So I’m talking to Nicks mom she picks out this huge beautiful arrangement and then She says. I’m charging this to Nick. He owes you like 25 of these things. I’m his mom and he drives me crazy I don’t know how you put up with him. Lol.

That's great your mom is home Laurie ... home in Florida or home in Mass? Sounds like your sister is a very patient person, a valued trait for sure. Maybe your mom can hostess instead, sounds like she just wants to be busy.

Yes Linda, we'll have to be at the airport a couple of hours before the flight which isn't a problem as the flight doesn't leave 'til something like 1:30 a.m. and Jim's brother is going to drop us off at the airport after dinner. The flight itself is 15 1/2 hours. Ugh.

That is so fun that Nick owns 2 Edible Arrangement stores Laurie. I love their stuff but they are pricey! That's so awesome that Nick paid for it. That is super sweet. You really do have an awesome boss! Great to hear your Mom is out of the hospital and bless your sister's heart for being so diplomatic. LOLOL. Meatball subs sound excellent. What kind of restaurant does your Mom waitress at?

Jim and I were super productive in town but here we are at 4:16 and rather than do any house work or make crepes I'd much rather go out for a hot tub. LOLOLOL.

Picked up some local honey for our coffee and I got another jar of the "Bombay Spice" Red Pepper Jelly from Perth, Pepper & Pestle that I love. Got replenished in the grocery department and we also went to Home Depot and bought handles for the French doors.

I stopped in to a gourmet chocolate shop called JoJo CoCo
    http://www.jojococo.ca/
and bought Jim's cousin's wife (the one that was just visiting from Montreal) a bar of gourmet chocolate to put in with a Get well soon card as she is having surgery this coming Tuesday. While I was there it struck me that chocolate would make a great gift to bring over to Taiwan for different people and so I bought this beautiful chocolate 'twig' from SOMA Chocolates in Toronto. It's SO pretty. I think I may go back once our company leaves and pick up a few other things.

    Hi all.

You must be getting excited about the trip, Janet. Chocolate sounds like a wonderful gift to take to Taiwan. Good to have WiFi on the flight.

Hope you feel better Joce. No fun feeling bad.

Cool on the edible attangements, Laurie.

I guess powdered peanut butter and powdered honey are the new prepped items, Linda. Have not used any or read the ingredients so I will stay neutral. Why anyone would powder honey is a mystery.....raw honey from Egyptian phroahs tombs has been found and is perfectly safe. It lasts forever.

Ran errands, ran by WalMart to pick up some things, bought lumber for putting in a linen closet in the bathroom, priced the brand shower system that we wanted, and decided on which cabinets to put in the laundry room / back porch. I was able to walk around WalMart and even Lowe’s with the help of ibuprofen! Back is still iffy.

The shower color is called Blue Pearl....we want to have a white vanity with matching top to the shower, and a white sink inset. The stool will be white also so the three will be color coordinated. Don’t know about the walls and floors....maybe a bathroom tile floor that looks like barn wood. Walls have to be light, maybe a paneling made for bathrooms?

Mauser freaked out when she was in her litter box and the guys started drilling and pounding. She is very bothered by change and commotion. Poor baby. Mel sacked out on the bed, AC inspected their work on the way through, and Trouble watched every move, even sat on the washer and chatted away to them. His buddy thinks our cats are all spoiled.

Fritz is in his bed. He ran to the bedroom, retrieved a hidden dog biscuit, and brought it back to chew. It was probably behind the curtains or under my pillow!

Best check the laundry. Wayne is carrying the basket for me since we think that was how I twisted my back! But I can fold and put away. Well, once I remove Mauser from my lap!

    Have a nice day.

My mom is at the condo in Florida.
She works at a breakfast place. They don’t have hostess it’s a seat yourself.
I had summer squash noodles and meatballs the rest of them had gnocchi and meatballs.

I've not heard of honey powder yet Karen. So weird to me! Sorry to hear your back is still hurting. :( Trouble watched the guys from outside?

And excuse my poor memory Laurie. Your Mom only lives in Florida in the winter time right? And the breakfast place is in Florida? Has she worked there for many years? And where does she summer again? I'm afraid I'm not fond of either squash noodles or gnocchi but the meatballs sound good.

Made another batch of Joce's crepes so at least got that done and then we did go for a hot tub. Pleased I don't have to make dinner. Jim's brother called and he's going to help Jim install the French doors when he's here which means he can help me clean the house tomorrow morning. It's been busy in our little world. LOL.
