Simple Sunday

    Good Morning Everyone.

What a day you had yesterday Karen. Hope today is smoother and you get out for hunting as planned on Monday, well at least for Wayne. Maybe the chimney guy will come early and free up your day sooner than expected. LOL! on the cleaning fairy ... don't you wish they were real. Glad to hear your thumb is healing.

Hoping you are having a good time with your company Janet. I'm sure you are and hoping the turkey's make an appearance and "show off" a little.

Did you have luck clothes shopping for the kiddos Michelle?

Did the lawn get mowed Joce and is everything all put away for winter?

Not much planned here for the day. As always, there is always something to clean up. Doing laundry at the moment and DH is sweeping out the garage again because when the guys cleaned the driveway we had to have the garage doors opened about a foot so the cleaning machine could get underneath the door and clean but then some debri blew back in so DH is cleaning it up so it doesn't get tracked in the house. Will go to the fitness center later and then for lunch will make a simple pot of chicken noodle soup. I poached the chicken yesterday so it'll be easy. I like to put a dash of Chinese Five Spice in my bowl. Adds that "something nice".

    How was the wedding Kimmer?
Marie what are you up to?

    Good Morning Everyone!
Sounds like you have your day pretty well planned, Linda. No Den didn't do the lawn yesterday b/c the grass was still frozen. It is above zero today so he will do that as well as the eavestroughs today.

I hope the wedding went well, Kimmer.

I am sure your guests are enjoying themselves, Janet. Do you know how the other little girl did at the Irish Dance Competition or is she also dancing today?

How did the shopping go yesterday, Michelle? Where did you go to eat lunch with the kids?

Glad to hear your thumb is healing, Karen. Too bad the hunting didn't turn out so well.

We are doing laundry at the moment and we have decided to have pot roast for dinner tonight and I will also make some Yorkshire Pudding to go with it along with gravy, mashed potatoes and some sort of veggie.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Morning Linda! We did okay with shopping yesterday. In 3 1/2 hours we found Briauna 4 shirts and Caiden a pair of shoes. LOL! Bri is at that weird age where kids sizes are too small but Juinior's are almost a little too big. Makes shopping hard, ugh! I didn't have time to go down to the store I like to shop for Caiden at but he really doesn't need much, just a few pair of jeans. Yum on chicken noodle soup, 5 spice is definitely and interesting addition!

Just hanging out with the kids this morning. I got some pizza crust made for homemade pizza tonight. I will need to stop by the store this afternoon for pizza sauce, mozzarella and pepperoni's. In a couple of hours we are going to a benefit festival/car show to volunteer working some of the booths with her Girl Scout troop. Should be fun! This works out great also because Bri needs 6 hours of community service for NHS. So this should give her most of them. Thinking about making Caesar salad to go with the pizza tonight, but that will depend on what time we get home, if I have time to make the dressing. I'm craving it though and will post the Caesar dressing recipe if I get it made. Wishing everyone a great Sunday!!

Sp Joce! We ate a Freebird's yesterday for lunch, one of the kid's favorite places! They got taco's and I got a salad. Your dinner sounds delicious :)

Yum on pizza Michelle. One of my favorites!! Finding clothes that fit perfect is a challenge still ... considering all the different body shapes for the same size it's no wonder. Can't wait to see the Caesar dressing recipe. How long will it last in the fridge, any idea? What kind of booths are the girls working? That's nice the hours will county for her CS for NHS.

Pot Roast sounds great for dinner Joce. I have some portioned in the freezer maybe I'll pull that out for dinner. But I don't have potatoes, am waiting for the farmers market tomorrow to get some and I really don't want to go to the store. Maybe I'll have it over toasted bread. I can't believe your saying "it's above zero today" ... I'm in shorts and barefoot. Talk about two different worlds.

    Hi Everyone!

I don't know if the buses just started pulling over to observe two minutes in honour of Remembrance Day and playing the Last Post or not Joce. I read it online. I haven't ridden an OC Transpo bus in quite awhile. I didn't hear how "older sister" made out in the tournament but I did get to see a photo of her all dressed up. She did have some dances today and then they were going to fly home expecting to be back in Montreal by 8 p.m. YUM on pot roast and yorkshire pudding for dinner. I bought two nice sirloin roasts at Costco this afternoon for about $8 each. Also got a nice huge flank steak which I cut into two pieces.

Glad to hear you got some clothes shopping done for the kids Michelle. Yum on home made pizza!

Goodness at your hunting trip being thwarted more than once yesterday Karen.

Your chicken noodle soup looked deelish Linda.

We had a super nice weekend with our company. The Fajitas were a hit. Jim cooked the chicken and the beef to perfection. Our young 'miss' loved the squirrel and acorn cookies. :) I made her a scrambled egg with 1/2 poppyseed bagel and cream cheese (her request) and fruit for breakfast and then the three of us had Poached eggs on toast with fried tomatoes. Did appys for lunch, sausage, porchetta, olives, three types of cheese plus blue cheese spread on apple slices, grapes and a veggie plate with dip. Went for a walk around the property after breakfast and then for a Costco shop after lunch. They headed back to Montreal around 3 p.m.

THE CUTEST thing happened yesterday afternoon. "Young Miss" headed outside as she loves to do, with a bowl full of sunflower seeds and peanuts to feed the creatures. She was in the back yard when a Doe and her yearling crossed along the back of the lawn. The yearling saw Young Miss and was quite curious. So much so that it walked toward her the length of the lawn, about 75 ft. and came to stand about 15 feet away from her, trying to look nonchalant but casting her looks every minute or so. It was the cutest thing ever. I'll get a picture to you if her Mom remembers to send me one. It was quite mesmerizing. So we started to call her "Snow White" after that. :)

Hi Linda. Ugh on the debris in the garage!

    Yum on pot roast, Joce!

Good shopping, Michelle! Women's clothing is equally as difficult! I have three different sizes depending on the brand.

How cute with the doe being so curious. They do seem to have a strong sense of curiosity!

After getting home from church around 4:30, we saw two deer in the hayfield. Wayne took Fritz out and did chores, thinking they would be gone when he got back.. No, still there. It was dusky but he might have had a good shot. He just finished chores! Had to remove another dead squirrel from the horses water tank. He emptied it, and reviled, then put a board in the tank so if another one fell in it could have a chance to climb out. We have to find some sort of ladder that can be fastened on top so it won't be knocked into the water. When he came in, it was dark, and six deer were in this end of the hayfield. His buddy hasn't seen any deer at all.

Watching the finale of Ice Road Truckers. A job I never want. Ha ha.

    See you later.

Oh how sweet that must have been to see Janet ... a little girl and a young deer. Sounds like you had a great time with your guests too.

Keeping the garage clean keeps DH busy Karen which is good. I bet when you finally do get out to go hunting you won't see a 🦌 deer, it's Murphys Law.

Change of plans yet again for dinner. I broiled salmon for DH and steamed green beans. I made a big salad for me. I made quinoa yesterday and I made way too much. It's good in salads thus the reason I made myself a salad to start eating it up. I did reheat some and put it on DH's plate but he's not a huge fan.
