Sing a Song Sunday

Good Morning All! Winter is back. Thank goodness I had the sense to turn off the air and switch it over to heat because last night the temp dropped down to 44 from a high of 75(f).

I have some homework to do regarding the car. I like it but just need to make sure I'm being offered a fair price and not being taken advantage of. I just hate this kind of stuff. Also need to find a tile/grout guy too. The master bath grout needs to be repaired. It's not the rubbery kind of grout but the cement kind and is cracked along the shower seat so it needs to come out and laid back in. The job isn't for me so I have to find someone.

I too didn't win the lottery Karen. I kinda get really disappointed too when I don't because I really really want to. Too funny about Mauser demanding her food bowl be filled and telling you so.

Who does your website Kimmer? Are you doing it? It's great if you are and you should be so proud of yourself! It's a big technology challenge to have mastered.

Not sure what I'm doing yet today. Probably staying put and getting thru some of this paperwork and research I need to get done. Thinking of making meatloaf for dinner tonight with gravy, baked potato, and vegetable.

Good Morning Linda! Between researching a new vehicle and looking for someone to do your grout job, that will certainly keep you busy! How old is your place? I thought they were fairly new so I was surprised that the grout needs to be redone already. I never buy Lottery tickets, so I'll certainly never win anything. LOL that your really, really wanted to win. LOLOL. Good luck with your research!

About to make some bagel breakfast sandwiches. Be back in a bit.

Good luck researching a new car and finding someone to do the grout work, Linda.

    Hi, Janet! Enjoy your breakfast.

Doing laundry today and we are having pot roast for dinner considering we found quite a few of them in the freezer when we defrosted it.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Good Morning Joce! I'd love to find quite a few Pot Roasts in my freezer! :) Sounds like the perfect Sunday meal. I think Jim and I are going to have chicken something tonight. Good luck with your laundry.

Bright and sunny outside but -24C. Jim and I may go for a walk though just to get some fresh air. I was going to make a batch of Chicken Broth today but I got sucked into Ancestry and didn't look up 'til after 10. If I'm making broth I like to have it simmering by 9 a.m. at the latest so it will have a chance to cool down some before I have to stick it in the fridge overnight. I'd do it in the crock pot but my crock pot isn't all that large.

    Wishing everyone a great day.

The cracking in the grout where the shower seat is may be due to settlement. The place is only 4 years old. Stuff like that is only covered within the first year. It's gotta get fixed because I don't need water leaching down into God knows where.
Enjoy your walk if you go.

Too funny finding lots of pot roasts in the freezer Joce ... I guess you like pot roast. What cut do you use and method to make it. I never seem to have luck with a pot roast. If I do a chuck roast in the crock pot I have success and too an eye roast in the oven but anything else is hit or miss and I do like pot roast a lot and would be so happy if I could make a good one.
We too are finishing up the laundry today.

Good afternoon all. Finally warming up a bit here. Was a chilly 37F when I got up this morning but think it finally hit the 50's now. Chloe is of course crying at the doors and does her routine of wanting out then wants right back in. Funny on finding extra pot roasts Joce! Good luck with the new car and grout work Linda. And yes, Linda we do our own website. Hubs mainly but I work on the listings on all our stores. It's a lot of work that's for sure!

Since I got up quite early this morning I decided to make beef stew in the crock pot. Originally had that slated for tomorrow but it was so cold this morning just seemed the right thing to do. Plus I had the meat and veggies already cut up yesterday just in case I did make it today. Going to make some homemade corn bread to go with. Should hit the spot this evening when it cools back down to the 30's again!

    Hope all enjoy their Sunday.

I do my pot roasts in an oven proof dutch oven, Linda. I usually do a blade roast which is sort of like a chuck roast. They are the most flavourful cuts for a pot roast. I cook it from its frozen state most of the time. Low and slow is the key, with water mixed with beef boullion an onion, garlic powder etc. I try to keep most things very low salt. When you start adding things like "Onion Soup Mixes" etc. it starts bringing the salt level way over the top! Especially when making gravy which I do and I find that quite enough salt for me thank you.

Great, you do your own website, Kimmer. How many stores do you have? Yum! I love beef stew. I must make that next week sometime.

Thanks Joce. I'll have to look for that cut. I too don't use a lot of salt or prepared foods just for that reason ... too much salt.

Does anyone here have an electric roaster? There's someone over in the help group with a question about them.
    Question

Yum on beef stew Kimmer and LOL @ red cabbage last night.

Jim and I had a good walk down to the river and back. About 4 km./2.5 miles there and back. My legs felt frozen as did my fingers (should have put on mitts instead of gloves) but the sun in sheltered areas was actually warm so that was nice.

Made toasted tomato sandwiches for lunch. Am going to do Shake n' bake chicken and potato balls for dinner with spinach on the side.
