Lol every time I post a huge thread it doesn’t go. So I figured I would start small and add on.
First picture is my brag picture. Becca joined the UMass Democrats. She said there was about 75 new freshman members. There was an open position for volunteer coordinator so she put in an application since she held that position on a local campaign for someone running for State Rep. She didn’t think she would get it since there is so many people and she was just a freshman and didn’t know anyone. Well she got this email from the president of the club and they offered her Secretary! The other picture is from Nashville me and Wendy showing off our new boots and third picture is a close up of said boots but picture really doesn’t do them justice they are beautiful in person.
We went out with friends last night to a place called the Boat House. We had so much fun. The waitress was awesome. We laughed so hard. When I walked In I saw someone eating prime rib which I have been craving so I didn’t even look at the menu. She comes over and I order she says oh I should have told you we ran out. Then she said you didn’t want that it looked a little dry tonight. So I got lobster pie which was fantastic. So Mike asks how is the beef stroganoff is it good or should I get something else. She says get something else. So we are all laughing and she says hey I’m being honest lol. At the end of the meal she tells us (after we had been joking with her all night) the stroganoff is really good but we ran out and I didn’t want to tell you since I just told her we were out of prime rib. Then when we are having desert Frank says we can’t trust anything you say was the prime rib really dry and without missing a beat she says no it’s freaking fantastic lol. The funniest part is in the middle of our meal at this kind of fancy place this guy comes in older he is wearing bathing suit trunks, a fishing vest, straw hat and he had a stethoscope around his neck. Now this place is in the middle of nowhere so much so that when we were driving Mike said this is where I take you to kill you and hide your body. Of course the gentleman comes over to our table. He says he is looking for his brother. Just weird. But we were laughing so hard and after Frank had a really strong drink Frank kept saying did that really happen? Oh we had deviled eggs as an appetizer and they were soooo good!
I never cooked one of my Home Chef meals so I will hopefully cook that tonight.

    Good Morning Laurie and Karen!

Congrats to Becca Laurie. I`m afraid I don`t know what an e-board is though. Nice photo of you and your girlfriend and nice boots! :) I`ve never owned a pair of cowboy boots and I doubt I ever will.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAREN! If Facebook is to be believed? It is a sunny yet cool Saturday morning here in the Ottawa Valley. Any birthday celebration plans? How did you sleep last night (open question to all that get visited by the No Sleep Fairy)

I had a pretty good sleep although Jim started to snore just after 7 a.m. so I gave up and got up.

We`re going to head to the Carp Farmer`s Market this morning after breakfast. I`m hoping to get some more tomatoes, another Butternut Squash and some apples. Jim`s thinking about grabbing something for our lunch as well. We have an Ottawa Senator`s Hockey Game on the TV at 2 p.m. If it is really nice out we may record it and go do something but if it clouds over we`d be pleased to hunker in.

Our router has been acting up the last few weeks and it`s become annoying enough that I think perhaps we`ll order a new one through Amazon. Any one have any opinions or insights?

    Wishing everyone a great Saturday!

Holy Crum on Lobster Pie Laurie! Was it like a Chicken Pot Pie with sort of a creamy sauce with the lobster? Sounds like you had a most lovely evening out with your friends. The waitress sounds like a hoot! LOL @ the guy in the bathing trunks and stethoscope. I have never seen Deviled eggs as an appetizer in a restaurant. Now you have me craving them too! Might have to make a few for appy`s tonight.

    Good morning.

Pictures never do justice to really cool items. But the boots look really pretty. I still have cowboy boots but don’t ride any ore due to “Uncle Arthur” visiting. Yum on lobster pie, Laurie.

No birthday plans here. We are so behind I don’t know when I will have time to catch up. There is enough laundry to do that it should keep me busy all day. Ha ha. Your FB pix were so pretty .... the leaves were so pretty and fall is definitely here. We are several weeks behind...this weeks cold spell should speed up the changing colors. Our oaks are still green.

I woke up at 7 all rested and didn’t have to wake up during the night once! Maybe it was a birthday gift from the No Sleep fairy. Ha ha.

Coffee is ready, so have to have that first cup!

    Good Morning Everyone!

LOL! Here, South of the Border, it's still Saturday and a cool one at that. Low temp of 73(f) during the night and it's 77(f) now. It's suppose to stay "cool" today and humidity is suppose to drop too making for a really pleasant day. Tomorrow humidity is to return with warmer temps too.
Not sure what we will do today … take advantage of the nice weather and go to the outdoor mall for a stroll with LD or take window screens out and wash windows.
Took my printer in for service yesterday afternoon. It hasn't been printing well, I believe the heads may be clogged, we will see.
After we stopped in "Ross" stores and I found Autumn themed kitchen towels with leaves and a harness for LD with dragon wings (aka Halloween costume). They had an adorable Halloween sweater that would have fit him but sweater + Florida do not = smart choice. The dragon wing harness is cute and I can use it all month.
We ate out at a sport bar type place. It was ok.

Love the boots Laurie and congrats to Becca. Lobster pot pie is wonderful. I've been in search of a recipe since having a really good one years ago.

Happy Birthday Karen! Wishing you a wonderful birthday day. I hope you change your mind and it includes dinner out. Your birthday only comes once a year.

Farmers market sounds great Janet and glad your hike yesterday was enjoyed. We recently watched the movie "The Foreigner" with Jackie Chan. He usually does comedy but his role in this one was serious and he was really good! We also enjoyed the movie.

Well doing laundry all day long on your birthday just doesn`t sound like a good plan Karen. I agree with Linda, and hope you decide to go out for something to eat or at least scarf down a big ole' piece of birthday cake. :) Glad to hear you got a good sleep.

I need to wash the outside of the windows one more time before the snow falls myself Linda. I`ll be curious to hear about your printer. Printers drive me nuts and often times it costs more to fix them than it does to buy a new one. Shaking head. Very nice on your autumn themed kitchen towels and LOL @ a dragon wing harness for LD. That`s excellent! :)

    Jim`s awake!!!! :) LOL!

The printer was expensive and only 3 years old so I'm a bit miffed. There is a maintenance button on it to clear the heads and do something else and I ran it several times and it didn't help so in for service it went. While there I was advised to buy this plan for $200 for the year that allows me to have electronics serviced on most things I own plus it includes antivirus software. I'm sure it'd cost almost that much to service the printer alone so I bought it and hope that it's worth it. I'm sure there are "catches" somehow and I'll read more to see what they are.

Jim and I bought what I considered an expensive printer a few years ago ($350 or so maybe?) and it's heads clogged too. Would have cost me a fair amount to bring it in for servicing so we ditched it. I`ll never spend that much on a printer again. I personally find they just don`t have much of a lifespan.

Just signed up for a Thai cooking class next month! I`m VERY pumped. Joce will know the lady giving it, Chef Judy Dempsey from the Hungry Planet in Perth (which is now defunct) It`s being held at `Mrs. McGarrigle`s Mustards` in Merrickville which is an awesome foodie store. With your ticket to the cooking class you get 15% off anything you buy in their store afterwards. SO excited. :)

Goodness we`re slow getting out this morning.

Same here. It's about what ours cost. It was suppose to be "all that and a bag of chips". Never again.
The cooking class sounds AwESomE Janet! and nice perk shopping the store after and getting the discount.

Very cool on the Free Instant Pot Cookbook download Linda!

Had fun at the Market. Bought heirloom tomatoes (may be the last of the season. BOO!), a Butternut Squash, apples, apple cider and 2 samosas. Went to the grocery store on the way home. Jim is craving Cabbage rolls so I bought a cabbage. Will make a batch up next week. Didn`t see anything that really grabbed us at the Market or the store so decided to make a Ham and Cheddar Quiche for lunch. It`s in the oven now.

Jim wants to finish a bit of the interlock in the front yard. Yes, he finished the main part he was working on a while ago, now he has torn up another small section that he didn`t like the looks of. LOL. He PVR`d the game so we`ll watch it later when we`re all done puttering about.

Sounds like you got some nice stuff at the market Janet.
It's too hot here to do anything outside. What was I hoping for? It's 88(f) and sunny. Ufff. Was going to wash the outside of the windows but will wait for next weekend because the hurricane shutter guys still need to put up trim and may "print" them up.
I took out a filet roast for dinner and will grill that with a salad. Also made
Pumpkin Or Persimmon Pot De Creme for dessert (pumpkin). Cut the recipe back to only make 2 … don't need to be eating anymore than that.

Lobster pie is lobster meat. Lots of butter and stuffing it was like a ritz cracker stuffing. Delicious only thing I woul have changed is it came with sweet potato mashed and regular mashed. Close your ears Janet but I would have preferred broccoli or a veggie.
Not sure what the e stands for either. Electronic ? Electoral maybe since it’s political. I told one of the guys I work with because he also went to UMass Amherst and he was very impressed for her to get it as a freshman.

OH my goodness on that Pumpkin Pot De Creme Linda. It looks absolutely divine. Wow. Can`t wait to hear how you like it. (HOW COULD YOU NOT?????) :)

A ritz cracker stuffing with lobster. Interesting. I`d have stuck with regular mashed potatoes thank you very much Laurie!!!!. :) Becca has always been a very clever young woman. She`s going places! It`s going to be fun to watch!

Wow, some nights you just nail dinner and tonight was one of those nights for me. The grilled filet roast was perfect and all I served with it was a tossed salad. I made your spiced nuts recipe Janet and OMG are they good!
    Spiced Pecans
I've eaten spiced/sugar nuts b4 but never had homemade and homemade is just incredible! Added some to my tossed salad. The pumpkin pots-de-crème were wonderful and of course your nuts were the perfect accent!!

I am so stuffed from dinner (we did go to Edgar Springs for my birthday.) The restaurant is on the third owner in about 7 years. It is now called Dee's Cafe. They feature home made BBQ ribs, burnt ends, and brisket. The half rack includes your choice of 2 sides: fried okra, country potatoes, and cole slaw. The sauce is a smoky BBQ -- I like it. Decided to have a hot tea and a salted caramel pecan cheesecake. Very good! No supper needed tonight.

We finally brought one of the UV heaters out bec it is just not cold enough to turn on the electric furnace heat. Plus the cost to heat this house is astronomical. It is drizzling rain outside, although it was supposed to have stopped long ago this morning. Grrr!

All four cats are inside -- they don't like the cold, damp weather. Mauser is on the arm of my recliner, the others are spread about the couch. Fritz is with Wayne on his recliner. Poor dog was shivering so when Wayne turned the heater he stood in front of it soaking in the warmth.

I’m so happy you did go out Karen! Sounds yummy! Love good BBQ and it’s something I don’t make so I enjoy it even more when I do get it.
Awwww. Hope Fritz drys off and warms up quickly.

Dear Lord, just a quick hi here. Hubs and I had dinner and were about to, just a few minutes ago, enjoy a cocktail out on the porch with Chloe since the weather is so delightful, when some neighbor decided it was the right time to light off major fireworks! WTF! It's not a holiday! It's just a regular Saturday night which for us is now ruined! I called the police and also walked over to our neighbors down the road, who are St. Pete officers, but they were not home. Really! Thank you whoever you are for ruining our night. And now, of course, Chloe is scared beyond belief and hiding under the bed and I can't get her to come out. Thank you, you dumb ass! Sorry for the rant but I am more than pissed off right now!
