Soggy Sunday

We have rain! Only a quarter inch, but will take any amount, that is for sure.

We have church today, should be raining the entire trip. No severe weather, just rain.

All is quiet. I fought with my iPhone bec it temporarily wigged out after updating. One of my favorite apps no longer works on my iPad, which is bec the creater of the app did not update it for the new IOS. I hate technology....ha ha! It transferred iPhone photos to my laptop, that is the sum total of my technological accomplishments. Then deleted 495 which were duplicates. I. Noticed several did not transfer, very strange.

Fritz is wired for sound. AC is primed for going outside. It is raining so he would not like it. He is staying inside until we come home. Like it or not.

I noticed the zillion Dubai ads. Grrr! Why anyone would post that type of adhere is a mystery to me. Aargh!

OK it is time to get ready for the day. Have a nice day everyone. Will catch up later today.

Good Morning Karen! That's nice it's raining and you're pleased. :) Our sky looks overcast at the moment. The Weather Network says it isn't supposed to rain and we're really hoping it doesn't as we want to bring in our firewood today. Enjoy your time at Church and hope the rain isn't too bad for driving.

    I'm going to make
Rock Cornish Game Hens With Crab Stuffing
for dinner this evening. Maybe some asparagus on the side.

Wishing everyone a most lovely Sunday.

Morning! Sometimes I don't get technology either Karen. I feel like I'm always fighting with it as well. Yes the escort ads are worse. I can't even tell when the new one's are put up and when the old one's are going down off the main page. Just trying to ignore it :( Enjoy church!

Hi Janet :) Hoping the rain stays away for you so you can get some work done. Yum on your dinner. Is crab pretty cheap around you? The crab prices at the grocery store is ridiculous here. At the docks it's cheaper but I always find tiny shell that they have missed, which makes it unpleasant to eat. So there is no winning lol.

The girls were very good last night, they stayed up playing monopoly FOREVER! Then they started watching movies eating popcorn and hot chocolate. I passed out at 11p, couldn't last any longer. They are still sleeping though, so I'm not sure what time they finally went to sleep. I'm pretty sure I'll be making pancakes, but not sure yet, am going to wait until they wake up to ask. I will make myself a smoothie. It's wet outside and supposed to rain all day, so we will need to figure out indoor things to do I guess.

Going to eat dinner with my Dad but I can't remember where he suggested lol. It was right before he was leaving the fields after our last game yesterday evening and there was a lot going on. I'll ask Michael when he wakes up, hopefully he remembers haha. That's about it for us, wishing everyone a great day!!

Good Morning Michelle! I've always only used the fake crab/pollock for the crab stuffing. Crab is expensive here. That's nice the girls were so good last night. Sounds like a lovely evening for them. How long will you have them today? Enjoy dinner out with your Dad. Enjoy your day.

Hi Janet, they will probably stay until this afternoon, then they will need to leave so we can get ready to go to dinner with my Dad since he want's to meet early and beat the crowd. I don't think there will be much of a crowd anywhere though on a Sunday evening lol :) That Beef Barley Soup sounds delicious, I haven't made anything with barley in forever!!

Good Afternoon Everyone. I read the post this morning, thought I replied but looked and realized I didn't. I've been jumping around between "things" today. We even went to our fitness center for an hour around 11:00 a.m.

The house is dusty and really needs to be cleaned. Floors need to be vacuumed (which I did most of already), one more load of laundry, and the dog needs a bath. Speaking of baths, our master bathroom really needs a scrubbing too. Does it ever end?
I have thin porkchops that I'll pound out, bread and pan fry for dinner along with what ever veg I can scrounge up. The Farmer's Market is tomorrow and I would rather buy my vegetables there and what I don't get and need then go to the store. Will also be picking up more seafood too and hopefully that vendor will have some good stuff. Oh and bread. DH really liked the walnut raisin bread sliced and toasted with coffee in the morning.

Quarter in of rain is better than no rain Karen. Hopefully you'll get more soon. What's up with the IPhone update? I'm not sure I'm liking this last one. I haven't figured out all that has changed but notice some things looking different. I think some kid does the Dubai ads just to miff people. At least it's not the graphic garbage that use to show up on A.R.

It's Stone Crab season here Michelle. I haven't had any yet ... reason, it's expensive. It's a nice treat but not an item for the dinner list. Too cute on the girls staying up too late. Sounds like they had fun though. Enjoy dinner with your dad tonight.

Aah, Beef Barley soup is one of my favorites Janet. I made beef soup with ground beef (the grass fed stuff I want to use up because it's a little tough for burgers) yesterday. Had that for lunch today and will again tomorrow.

Hi Linda! No, I'm afraid house cleaning is an ongoing affair as it were. :) Yum on your porkchops. Looking forward to what goodies you find at the Market tomorrow. NICE on stone crab. I've never ever had it.

Jim and I filled six trailer full loads of firewood from where it was stacked at the front of the property and drove it down the lane way and restacked it in the garage. All done. Was getting tuckered by the last load but it always feels good to see it all full. I didn't even scream when I came across a mouse nest and six - seven of them jumped out in all directions. Fritz and the cats would have had a hey day Karen. :)

Good afternoon all. Hope everyone's Sunday is going well. Aw, what fun on the sleepover! I kind of miss those days. My daughter had many and yes, they always stayed up all night! Was great though because with the house we had at the time, they basically had their own "wing" with a mini kitchen and we hardly knew they were even there.

Went to a retirement party for a friend last night at Hamburger Mary's. http://www.hamburgermarys.com/clearwater/ Had a blast and food was great. There were 9 of us ladies and had the best table in the house. Was suppose to be 11 but two couldn't make it. This party was orginally scheduled the weekend Miss Irma paid us a visit. Not my normal night out but the drag queens were so funny! No one at our table had the guts (or should I say "balls", lol) to ask any of them how they hide their male parts in their skimpy outfits. Well, two glasses of wine and...........enter Kimmer, lol! One came over for a photo op so I asked him how he hid his "junk". He said......oh honey, we have to tape that stuff down! The ladies just died laughing and said leave it to Kim! Well, I wanted to know, lol. Ok enough raunchy talk!

Have my homemade spaghetti sauce simmering in my crock pot. House smells delightful! Have to decide on which kind of pasta I want to use and bought some lovely garlic knots that just need warmed up so dinner is easy today!

Hope all enjoy the rest of the day!

ROFL at the entertainment Kimmer. That's hilarious. Good for you for being inquisitive. You never find out the answers otherwise right? :) Yum on your tomato sauce. Sounds like a lovely dinner.

My soup is simmering away. Have to wait another half hour or so before adding the potatoes and barley. Prepping the asparagus and the game hen.

Called the hospital in Fort Frances and they tell me Mom is progressing well. Until she can swing her legs in and out of the bed though they won't release her so it's just a matter of physio, physio, physio.

Hi Linda! I don't think housework ever ends lol. Ohh..have fun at the Farmers Market tomorrow, can't wait to hear what goodies you get :)

Wow, you did a lot of loading/unloading firewood, I'd be pooped too lol! Haha too funny on the mouse nest :P :P Glad to hear your Mom is progressing well!

Hi Kimmer :) I envy the house with a separate "wing" for the kiddos, I'd LOVE that lol during sleepovers lol. ROFL about the drag queens and taping it down!! :P Sounds like a delicious and easy dinner!

So the girls stayed up super late I found out haha. Michael, who is a night owl on his days off, said he finally told the girls good night at 1:30 am and they were still up watching movies. They all said they went to sleep at 3ish. Yikes! No wonder they slept until 10am this morning!

Meeting my Dad at Maggiano's Little Italy for dinner. I remembered finally! Love that place and it's in new outdoor section of the mall so we can do a little browsing around if we want after we eat. Briauna is obsessed with Charming Charlie's right now lol so I'm sure she will want to go in there. They have cute stuff for reasonable prices. I need some new boots so I might stop at a few stores as well :)

Ha ha on your friend's retirement dinner Kimmer! So funny.

The girls must have enjoyed watching movies and going to bed late, Michelle. They sure had a great time!

Whew on all the fire wood transport Janet. It is still drizzling and Wayne will check the rain gauge on his way out to walk Fritz, so we should have had a little more rain. Hoping your mom continues to improve.

Linda, that iPhone update lost the password to our wifi, and the print on the router is so tiny it took forever to read. It dropped at least two apps bec they were incompatible with the new IOS. They have not been updated, are not available on the Apple Store, and it is up to the creators to update! Granted I only paid a couple of bucks but really, it should be compatible with the stupid phone! Beef barley soup sounds perfect.

Stone crab in Missouri? Not if you want it fresh! Ha ha. I have bought canned for crab dip but was not impressed so will stick with tuna or maybe shrimp if and when I want a fancy dip to serve lots of people.

We got GS a McD kid meal to go on the way home, then ate at Crowcreek. He had the choice of coming with or a McD meal. It was good he went with McD bec We had a more relaxing time. LOL! I had chili, and he had a burger with onion rings, BBQ, bacon, and 7 ounce burger.

Rain total so far is .52 in. Temp tonight should drop to 43 F! Brrr!

    Have a nice evening!
