Sudbury Saturday Night....

Good Morning ODD'ers! Getting ready to head off in an hour or two. Got all packed last night and cleaned out the fridge. Jim is draining the Hot Tub before we go and I just have a few odds and ends to do and then......ROAD TRIP!
We go as far as Sudbury tonight. Should arrive around dinner time. Staying over with a friend of mine from HIgh school. Should be a hoot.
I'm guessing those of you in the States may not know of the song "Sudbury Saturday Night". It is one of the most famous songs sung by Canadian Stompin' Tom Conners. The song is about the hard-drinking, hard-partying social life of hard rock miners in the Northern Ontario mining city of Sudbury. It was originally released in 1967. He passed away in 2013. I saw him in concert when I was just a kid. Probably in 1970 or 72 in Kitimat, B.C. He was a Canadian Icon really. Drank like a fish.

Saw this brilliant picture of a 'couch potato' on FB this morning so had to share!
Michelle B., your fritter recipe looks amazing and I totally want to try it out. Hope you're feeling better today. Your cooking classes sound (again) amazing and I'm very envious. Your 'Canadian Food' plan for 'tea' is a great one. Fun fun! Feel better.
Hope Caiden has a grand time at his party today Michelle!. Hope the rain passed you by.
The lavender smoothie you had sounded delicious Karen. You picked up some fun things!
Must go get things collected. Wishing everyone a great Saturday. Marie, hope everything is good in your corner of the world. "Wave" out to Tina, Joce, Shona, Laurie and everyone else MIA.

    Good morning!

Love the couch potato! Someone has more imagination than I do!

    Have a wonderful trip!

It is a lazy morning. Will have to feed and water chickies soon, should either remove old hay from the trough or shift chickies to the coop to run free with a light for warmth at night. Horses need feeding. House needs cleaning. Mauser is debating falling asleep on my lap, and because she is draped around one arm I am typing one handed! Just reminded Wayne we have to wait a few minutes due to dozing kitty on my lap. He was not impressed.

Love the couch potato and Stompin Tom Conners is indeed a Canadian Icon. Very cool you were able to see him perform, Janet. Enjoy a fun visit with your friend and have a good safe trip. I know you won't have the internet at your Mom's but drop by the library once in awhile to let us know how everything is going.

Enjoy your lazy morning, Karen. Then you can do your chores.

I am having lobster for dinner and Den is having his normal cheeseburgers and fries. It has finally stopped raining and it looks like it is going to be a nice day. No doubt I will have lots of weeding to do today and Den will be mowing the lawn.

Good morning! The couch potato is cool. I never think of things like that, I am in awe of those who do.
Enjoy your trip and your time with your friend tonight Janet. Stompin' Tom was a staple to listen to growing up. I had forgotten that particular number until you mentioned it but listening to it again was a blast from the past.
Lobster for dinner sounds wonderful, weeding, not so wonderful.
I am picturing dozing kitties and feeling envious, missing my pets back home. Enjoy them and their kitty ways.
I found out they don't have butterscotch chips here - or chocolate chips or any chips for that matter. They break up chocolate in bars for cookies etc. So much for my peanut butter marshmallow slice :(
    Have a great day everyone.

Okay, I lost two posts. This lap top has been dropped to many times.
    Safe travels Janet,
    LOL in couch potato.
I'm having a stuffed potato for dinner.
Michelle, missing your animals must be hard. Charlie is giving me the evil eye. He wants to cuddle.
Ugh on weeding. Yum on lobster.
My tests yesterday were so hard and I am beat..The treadmill had me sobbing.

Well, Liv is working a watch party for the Lightning, I'll be lucky to keep my eyes open.
    Hugs all, take care.

Hi Tina! - Michelle B. -- Joce! Thought I'd drop in for a quick hello.

No chocolate chips -- TREASON! I would have to find someone to mail them to me! Esp. the dark chocolate. Can you break chocolate into itty bitty pieces and use it?

Kitties have grown a lot. They are jumping higher so more will have to be put out of their reach. Little brats.

Probably Monday chickens will be released into the coop and can have more room to roam. Will have a warming light for them because they may get chilled, even in the 90F degree temperatures. Raining off and on today, have to see what tomorrow brings.

TV is zilch. I am on the laptop in the sun room printing off Church Council minutes, but will go back to the LR and use the iPad in a bit. See you later.
