Sunday Swiffering!

Good Morning Everyone! I am just eating breakfast now. Got caught up on the computer writing letters and such! :)

Big game plan for me today is cleaning the house from top to bottom.

It's gorgeous out. It continued to rain right on into the evening but this morning the sun is out and warm and all the plants, trees, and lawn look way more spritely. :)

No idea yet what I'll make myself for dinner. I'm kind of thinking of wonton soup and some home made egg rolls that I've had down in the freezer forever. :) Would like to make
    Sauerkraut Souppolish Style
Not sure if I'll get to that today or push it to tomorrow but we shall see.

What is on everyone else's agenda for today? Have a great day everybody!

Good Morning/Afternoon to everyone! Wishing you a peaceful and enjoyable Sunday.

We watched "The Revenant" last night. DH thought it came on at 9:00 but it came on at 8:00 and we were able to catch it from the beginning. IT WAS THE WORSE movie I've seen in a long time. Why Hollywood was making such a big deal out of it is beyond my comprehension? It was very realistic but depressing, violent, I could barely understand someone when they spoke because they mumbled, parts were just too far fetched, story line left me wanting something more ... just the worse!

Congrats on your purchase Karen! Wishing you much enjoyment with your new RV and look forward to hearing about your ventures when you take it out.

I'm house cleaning too Janet. The usual from top to bottom so everything is everything if/when we get a phone call. We both are starting to stress. The market here is just flooded with housing both resale and new. Oh please, oh please St. Joseph bring us our buyer so we can get out of here.

The ginger I potted now has 5 sprouts! 3 of the sprouts are about 3" tall and 2 are just starting. It's pretty neat that it's growing.

Not sure what to make for dinner tonight. Seems I'm always making the same ole same ole but if I make something different DH usually just picks at it. I'll have to start digging thru my files and look for something.

Oh no at "The Revenant" Linda!!! I heard such good things about it!!! I'm kind of shocked to tell you the truth! I checked out the review on it from "Rotten Tomatoes" and the audience gave it 85% and the reviewers gave it 82%! I'm still going to watch it one day, but now I'm worried I'll hate it too. :) Neat on your ginger. Continuing to send you good house selling vibes. :)

I know the movie got great reviews. I would say because it was filmed well and portrayed for the most part realistically. Even DH, who appreciates a good violent movie hated it too. You'll have to watch it and decide.
Thank you for sending good vibes ... we could use them.

We are doing laundry and dusting here as well, Janet. When Den isn't here I usually make something he wouldn't want to eat. Good luck with your house cleaning today.

Congratulations on your new RV, Karen. I hope you enjoy it.

Sending "BIG HOUSE SELLING VIBES" your way, Linda. With people going down south for the winter soon, maybe someone from the north might buy it as a winter home. Hope you get some big bites soon! Very cool your ginger is growing so well.

We are having a pot roast for dinner with roasted potatoes, gravy, steamed green beans and if I feel so inclined I will also make Yorkshire Pudding. The buzzer on the dryer just went off and I must run.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Good morning everyone. I'm in the mood to clean the house as well but I may just sit a spell and see if it passes. All kidding aside, my back is way too sore to be scrubbing tubs.
That rain was really heavy at times, Janet.
I'm not a fan of sauerkraut, my grandfather used to make it and I can't get past the smell.
Neat on the ginger, Linda. I may just give that a go the next time that I buy some. Sending Huge house selling vibes your way too. I'm sorry that the movie was a bummer for you, it does sound good.
Your pot roast sounds great Joce.
I have no idea what we're having. I'll have to see what's in the freezer.

If you decide to give growing ginger a try this is what I did ... it recommends soaking store bought ginger if you can't fine organic. I soaked store bought.

Oh Joce I WANT YOUR DINNER!!!!! :) Good luck with your dusting and laundry. It is SO humid here today that the floors are sticky as I'm sweeping them. I'll have to leave the washing of them to the very end as they are going to take FOREVER to dry!

Hi Bren! I think Sauerkraut is one of those "You either love it or hate it" items. :) I LOVE it! :) That's cool your Grandfather used to make it. I'd love to do that one day myself. Good luck with dinner plans.

    Good Morning!
We've been working on the yard for two days, and now we're so sore from trimming shrubs and branches that we can barely move today! I was tackling weeds that came past my waist! Ugh, this yard is my nemesis. One day we'll hire a stump grinder and get rid of all the stumps and roots so we can start the garden areas over. My strawberries however, have flourished! At least there are no stumps in my food garden ;)
I marinated some chicken thighs in a tandoori yogurt marinade, I will roast that today and serve it with No Yeast Flat Bread. We might have it pita style with marinated onions and garden salad fixings. Pete loves rice but I don't like to eat it twice in a week! He would have it every day if he could!

Yum on the wontons Janet, I love wonton soup!

That's too bad you didn't like the movie Linda! I forgot all about it as I have it recorded on the DVR but still haven't got around to watching it! I'm only watching it for the scenery though as it was mostly filmed here in Alberta. Perhaps I'll watch this afternoon since I have no plans to move around today ;)

Yum on the Yorkshire puddings Joce! I've been craving them....I have some stewing beef in the freezer waiting for some beef stew and yorkies ;)

Hi Bren, I hope your back feels better soon!

Have a great Sunday everyone! :)

Hi Shona! Ouch on the soreness! Yay on the strawberries! Those chicken thighs sound yummy and the flat bread will be excellent with it. I'm not a big rice fan myself.

Bren, hope your back feels better soon. Pull out the heating pad. :)

I'm about half way through my house cleaning. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. :)

Hurray! I'm all done my housework and the place looks great. :) JIm just called. He may stay an extra day at his Dad's as he's still working away on the retaining wall he's building behind the cottage to prevent the hill from eroding.

It's turned into a most lovely day. Perfect temperature. 26C/78F. It's lovely that I have all my jobs completed. That means tomorrow I could just have a 'me day'. :) Got my lavender rock garden weeded too. "I am woman". :) LOL.

Linda, I finally remembered to post that Beet Carpaccio recipe. I posted my version. The original poster peeled and sliced uncooked beets, sprinkled them with lemon juice and then steamed them for 5-6 min. but I find it faster to just bake them and slice them afterwards.

It's raining here and glad I got dinner cooked while there was a break. Grilled burgers without the roll and topped with cheese, I had my with red onion too. Made a salad for a side.

Pot roast sounds delicious Joce, when it's good it's great. This winter I want to try making a roast sauerbraten style. Thanks too for the well wishes. 😌

Shona, a lot of the scenery in the movie was stunning. I see a long hot bath with Epsom salts to help work away your soreness. Love tandoori chix.

Nice on all your housework getting done Janet. Enjoy your "me" day tomorrow. I'll look at the beet recipe now. Thanks!
