    Good Morning!

Big Congratulations Kimmer, you have a "new leaf" on your family tree! That is a surprise and I bet you are looking all the more forward to your trip to meet the little one.

So sorry to hear your friend's mom passed away Janet. May she rest in peace.

Jealously takes it's tolls on relationships. I hope your friends can work their issues out Laurie.

How's your back feeling today Karen?

How was the BBQ yesterday Michelle? Did the rain pass over?

Joce … what are you up to?

Not much going on here. We may run out and take care of a couple errands today. Need to go to Home Depot for air filters and a water filter for the fridge. Also have to go to the paint store for fresh paint. When they put up the hurricane shutters next month (which I still don't have a date) they will remove the screws for the other ones and fill the holes and paint. So, need to make sure I have paint and would rather take care of that sooner than later.

We cleaned the house yesterday and after I was too tired to prep, make dinner, and then clean up so I heated up a serving of Italian Wedding Soup for me that I had frozen and heated up DH one of the frozen Chix Cordon Blu things he likes with some steamed mixed vegetables. We even took apart the sectional couch, moved it, and vacuumed. Wow, was it dusty and such. Bella is shedding so much there literally are "dust bunnies" tumbling around.

Will put together the mix for Spicy Kofta Shish Kebab but will only make half. The other package of ground meat I'll make burger patties with. DH will not eat Kofta.

That's about it for now … What is your Sunday shaping up to?

LOL, what am I up to Linda! I have caught the no sleep bug from ODD:) I haven't slept since about 4:00 A.M. Saturday morning and I didn't sleep very well Friday night either. Call me toasted! I hope I can get a short nap in sometime today before I keel over.

Will talk when I don't feel so fuzzy.

Oh-No Joce. I hope you are able to nap today. You ARE running on empty for sure. I'm thinking when I go to bed hungry is when I stay up all night so I started drinking some protein shake b4 bed. Not much, just enough to put something in my belly. We eat dinner around 5:00-5:30 and lately I've cut back on my portions so by 11:00 I'm starting to get hungry again but I'm not eating so some protein shake settles me down.

It's getting dark and I hear thunder so maybe running errands will wait for another day this week.

    Hi everyone. Just hanging around
    It’s still raining here.
My friend Lucy is moving to South Carolina. She is a bit of a hoarder lol but in a good way not in the finding dead animals in your house way. She gave me a beautiful set of dishes. White. Which is cool since my current set is white. She also gave me two fire extinguishers. And a crate of alcohol and mixers. Lol she was pulling all her alcohol out of a closet and putting it in a box (she is not much of a drinker) and her 21 year old son asked what she planned on doing with it. She said I’m just going to bring it to Laurie’s house to which he responded. I wouldn’t it’s all pretty much water. Lol. Apparently when he was 17 he drank all the alcohol and replaced it with water. So she dumped all the open bottles down the sink and gave me the unopened bottles.
I have ground chicken I need to cook today but not sure what I’m making. Maybe tacos. I am not sure I have all the ingredients to make chili. And I’m not in the mood for either lol

Morning!! Hi Linda! The BBQ was a success and everything was delicious :) The rain stayed away, which was great. Thanks for the reminder on the water filter, we need one too! Wow, sounds like you really did a big job of cleaning yesterday! Yum on those meatballs, can't wait to hear how they turn out :) The protein shakes are a great idea, I can't sleep when I'm hungry either.

Hope you get a nap in today Joce, no sleep is no fun :(

Oh my gosh on the alcohol bottles being filled with water Laurie, well, at least now I know the trick to be looking out for!!! Hopefully my kids won't be doing that lol, but you never know :

Kind of a lazy day around here. I did make up some enchilada sauce for beef enchiladas that I'm making tonight. Now I need to get my menu plan set for the week and my grocery list made for tomorrow. Going to serve some Mexican rice along with the enchiladas as well as some homemade hot sauce :)

It's on and off raining here. Not a lot of rain but enough to keep us in. Nothing important that we need to go out for and too it's the weekend so would rather not be out driving if I don't have to.
The night skies have been cloudy all weekend … no chance of seeing the meteor shower this year here.
Good day to make Naan so I made a batch and the dough is rising. Also got the Kofta made and rolled and will freeze some.

LOL Laurie that your friend's alcohol is "all water". Nice that she gave you a set of dishes.

Good luck with your errands Linda. We have a sectional too and I find it keeps the dust and stuff hidden within it. :) Yum on your Italian wedding soup. Love that recipe. Can't wait to hear what you think of the Kofta. I have passed the Wolf book on to my Mom to read. She remembers the stories in the papers when the wolves were brought from Canada to Yellowstone Park initially. NICE on making Naan.

Oh dear Joce. Sending the virtual Sand Man to your house to throw a bucket over you!!! :) Do take care.

"Not in the finding dead animals in your house way..." ROFL. You kill me Laurie. What a laugh. LOL @ your friend's son turning her alcohol into water. :) What about grilled chicken burgers?

    Yum on enchiladas Michelle.

I made Mom a grilled cheese and ham sandwich with mustard for her lunch and then brought her for a walk down to the river where they have a little kiosk that sells treats and ice cream and such. She had a soft chocolate ice cream cone which she very much enjoyed and she did a very good job walking there and back.

Making Chalet Style chicken for dinner tonight with baby new potatoes and more green beans.

Yum on Enchiladas Michelle! and homemade sauce too. Kuddos on no rain.

What did you think of American Wolf Janet? The other day there was a show on about Yellowstone Wolves that I caught late night and so many of the wolves that were mentioned in the book were in the film so it was awesome to see them and the people in the book too. I'm fascinated and in love with them. I just want to jump right in with the pack but know that's just fantasy. I have my little wolf here and that's enough for me.
Your mom is doing amazingly well. I'm sure it has everything to do with you. Chicken sounds wonderful.

Naan is all made and already cooled enough for the freezer. It is ridiculously easy to make and takes no time at all. The longest part is the hour for it to rise.

Hi Linda! I very much liked the book. It's sad how animals get jerked around by humans but I suspect it will be a battle that will continue forever. It made me too want to visit Yellowstone. My cousin's daughter did last year. I'd like to see the Buffalo there as well as the wolves. :) I should really try make Naan some time.

It is sad the struggle between the ranchers, hunters, and the wolves. And sad that the wolves are on the short end of the stick. The book made me want to sell everything, pack up, and move to Yellowstone. It's like a world within itself there or at least seems that way.
Naan is so easy Janet and really good because it's fresh and not dried out like grocery store Naan.

I wound up playing around with the instant pot. I sautéed the chicken in it and then I had a rice box mix that I added. Came out pretty good. The fail was the cornbread. I had a box of jiffy cornbread mix I thought would go nice with the spicy rice but it didn’t rise in the pan and tasted weird. Oh well. I really like the dish set. They are square but she had a ton of pieces. Large plates and smaller plates as well as bowls and dessert bowls and little bowls for dipping sauces. She had previously given me a bunch of cookwear. Clear glass with covers and a big frypan and a pan/stir fry pan.

Good evening and hello to all. Funny Laurie, I recently made a cornbread from the Jiffy box and it did the same thing to me. Didn't rise and tasted weird. I had two boxes and threw the other one out after that. Had always used Jiffy, they must have changed something! Nice on the dish set! How are you liking your IP?

Spent the afternoon with daughter and her family. My usual birthday present for Kaiden these days is school clothes as his birthday is the 29th. Plus it helps my daughter out. Last day before school starts so the stores were packed! Would have done this sooner but he was in North Carolina with his MeeMaw for a month! He just got back last weekend so this was the only time we had. But we got some good deals. Got him 6 outfits, new backpack with a matching lunch box and a pair of shoes all under $140! So I be happy! I only buy Nike brand stuff so very happy about what we got! Kinda felt bad as Karli's beau was with us and his daughter buying stuff. Felt like I should have helped out but really couldn't financially. But they seemed to get the things that she needed.

Came home and had a delightful Face time with Michael and my little grandson. He is soooo darn cute! He waved at me as I told him I was his Grammie. Michael tried to get him to say "grammie", of course he couldn't but he did say GaGa. I'll take that, I told him! I can not wait to see him in person in a couple of weeks! Michael is though, feeling down, as only I could see, because he leaves on Sept. 14th to Alaska and he has had the child every weekend pretty much since he has been back from deployment. I can not even imagine the pain that he is going thru right now having to leave him. I told him, when you have leave from there..........go see your child, not us. We will be fine, you need to see your child. He agreed. It will be a rough 3 years for us, but hey.......it's only three years. Go see your child!!!!!

Burgers on the grill tonight with a fresh cucumber salad. Delightful!

Enjoy the rest of this Sunday all and Sleep Sweet................as always...............

    Good afternoon....err....evening!

Really don’t know about visitingYellowstone again, at least not now....they had over 150 earthquakes recently. Getting ready for the “big one” I guess! Supposedly if it blows, Missouri will be demolished, but we don’t plan on moving any time soon. Ha ha.
We were there a zillion years ago before daughter was even thought of.

So the ODD no-sleep bug struck again! It is such a pain. Last night I slept until 5:00, a record lately. So nice of your friend to give you all those beautiful plates, Laurie!

I empathize with ranchers who lose cattle to wolves, it’s a fact of life in that part of the country, I guess. If it isn’t wolves it’s bears or cougars or........etc. it is a balance act keeping up the wolf population while not destroying ranchers livelihood. We have seen a few around here but most farmers keep their cattle and other livestock closer to the barn / house during calving season. The wolves tend to avoid people if at all possible. Not so much coyotes, they sing to each other just over the rise and we have seen tracks in snow by the barn.

Snakes and raccoons cause more damage to us, chickens are their preferred “dinner guests.”

Daughter stepped wrong and twisted her ankle. She is icing and heating alternately to deal with the swelling. I have to use the tens machine tonight...hoping it was instrumental getting sleep last night.

    Have a good evening everyone!

You sure scored good stuff from your girlfriend Laurie. I love when someone mixs and matchs a couple of different dish sets on a table.

Just got a message my girlfriend Tammy is out at the house so gotta go join her for a glass of wine. :) Will catch up tomorrow.
