Sunny Saturday!

Good Morning Everyone! We've got sunshine and blue sky this morning which is sure good for the soul! Hope everyone else has the same!

Not entirely sure what to make for dinner this evening. Jim suggested grilling some shishkebob but I have to go see if I have enough ingredients.

It's "Hockey Day in Canada" today. :) That just means that there are broadcasts of local hockey teams televised on CBC as well as three hockey games, starting at noon. I always enjoy watching it and will do some appys for lunch so we can eat in front of the TV. :)

    Wishing everybody a great day!

Good morning everyone. The sun is lovely and it's warmer, gotta love that. The house is creaking, guess that it's waking up from it's winter slumber.
Dinner will be the usual grilled steak, caesar salad and baked potato with a small lobster tail that I'll broil..
Not much going on here today. We considered going to winterlude but parking is next to impossible. I'll catch up on house work and such.
    Have a great day everyone.

Well my goodness it is quiet in here today!

Hi Bren! LOVE your dinner this evening. It is a lovely day outside for sure. The sun has real warmth to it.

Made grilled ham and cheese sandwiches for lunch and am going to serve the appys for dinner. Baked pergoies. Chili cheese nachos and a veggie tray. I'm tempted to thaw some shrimp as well but that might be too much.

Good Afternoon Everyone ... Ummm where is everyone?

Nice to hear you are having sunshine and blue skies Janet and Bren. Sunshine is food for the heart and soul for sure! Nice on your "hockey day" Janet. Enjoy!

Classic dinner Bren that's always a welcomed choice. I guess it's warm enough to get out and grill?

Vet isn't sure exactly what's going on with Bella (eye tearing). She did an eye stain and it shows nothing and checked her teeth as best she could and doesn't see anything. Prescribed an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory eye drops and if it doesn't clear up then she'll have to go back in and go under sedation for a skull xray to check her teeth roots and get a better look in her mouth and if nothing is showing up there then a tear duct flush for possible blockage. I don't believe the drops are going to do anything because if it was bacterial/infection caused the tears would be milky/cloudy. At least she is still comfortable and eating. There wasn't time to do the xrays and eye flush as that is something they want her there for for a few hours to monitor her and since I got the second to last appointment for the evening ...
DH was being a pain and wouldn't come so I left him home by himself and hoped for the best. He stayed out of trouble which was good. I just get fed up and tired of dealing with his difficult personality. I know it's frustrating for him not being able to communicate/talk but it's just as frustrating for me. When I sit down to do speech with him if I correct his pronunciation he doesn't want to do it anymore which is fine with me. When he does talk then I just simply state "I can't understand you" and have stopped guessing what he's trying to say since he doesn't want sit and do speech. Can't have it both ways. Sit and do speech I'll work with what your trying to say ... don't and you won't have my attention.
He wanted to go out for lunch and before we went to lunch he directed me where he wanted to go (while we were driving) and I was very surprised that he directed me to see the older woman we are guardians for at her nursing home. He knew how to get there and even went right up to her room. Even though he couldn't speak he checked up on her. After we stopped at the local pizza place for soup and chix Caesar salads. I wanted to stop at the grocery store on the way home to pick up eggs (almost out) and he didn't want to go in so back in the car we got and I told him when we run out then he can eat cereal or go hungry.
Dinner will be grilled Salmon and whatever veggie I have. Frustrating days.

Hope Bella responds to the anti-biotic and drops Linda. Nice that you went to visit the woman you are guardians for. Sounds like you had a nice lunch out. I guess you don't feel safe leaving DH in the car while you go in the store for eggs? Deep breaths. Salmon sounds yummy for dinner.

    Wow what a quiet day!

Hope Bella does well. It seems like a good sign DH is looking after the lady you are gsurdians for.

    Happy hockey day Janet!

    Great sounding supper Bren.

We survived the day with our company. Decided spur of the moment to go to Slice of Pie for lunch. Key lime pie is so good!

She threw a fit when he helped tie her shoe, and picked up a piece of candy in a store and proceeded to eat it, then rewrap the rest and put in her pocket. Daughter said this is a typical behavior of late stage dementia. It is certainly pitiful. Sigh.

I would have liked to have left DH in the car Janet but I can't leave the car running with him in it, just don't trust him enough and because it was 80 (f) at lunch can't turn it off and let him broil in it either.

I'm sure it's hard seeing your friend in the state of mind she is in Karen. Does she recognize you and has there been normal interactions or is it sporadic? Hang in there. (((Hugs)))
