What a beautiful day for Keni Day! At least here it is. I have to go to the grocery store here in a bit to pick up some things. My cooking plans today are Tuscan Pork Tenderloin which I'm about to get marinading and Nothing To It No Bake Chocolate Cheesecake which I need to make this afternoon so it has the chill time done by this evening. I just know all the food cooked up today by everyone will be delicious! :)

Hi, Janet, Marie, Joce, Karen, Laurie, Shona, Tina (HUGS), and anyone elso I'm missing :)

Hello everyone. So after yesterday's snow storm our first real snow of the year surprisingly, we are getting a blizzard on Tuesday with up to TWO feet of snow! Of course that's the day I have my bone density test like half hour away in Lynn. Ugh!
I really need to go grocery shopping lol I am out of bread and milk! I refuse to go to Crazy BAsket on a Sunday with an impending blizzard. So I am going to the next town over to go to Shaws. It may be a little more expensive but worth the aggravation For today.
Finishing up the laundry but haven't decided on dinner yet. Saved a few recipes from Emilybites.com. But haven't decided yet.
Our opposition to the pipeline has been in the news and our group has over 100 members gaining momentum.

    Good morning ladies:)

Michelle, I'm going to make Keni's Swedish Meatballs! I'll start early, we can always reheat for dinner, so I can get it posted:) I was wanting to try that cheesecake recipe someday as well..she has the best recipes and so many of them:)

Laurie, WOW on the snow you're getting! It's going to be in the 70's here today, some records were broke yesterday, Paradise, a few miles below us, hit 79F yeaterday..it's like spring here. This is the month we usually get some snow..

    Hello to everyone!

It's a beautiful day for 'Keni Day' here as well Michelle! :) Nice choices for dinner. That cheesecake looks wonderful!
Holy Smokes on two feet of snow for Tuesday Laurie! If the weather does turn out to be bad then simply cancel your Bone Density test and rebook. It's not worth the stress! I'm glad to hear the Pipeline opposition is doing so well. Continued Good Luck! How did your bread end up turning out yesterday?
    Those
    Swedish Meatballs
look excellent Marie! I just bookmarked it. I've always wanted to make Swedish Meatballs. I bet Jim would LOVE them and I like them being served over noodles to sop up all the nummy gravy! Indeed, Keni has a TON of recipes.....it was a big job just to make a dent in some of her recipe list to choose what to make for today! Nice on your temps! That's also excellent that Rick's Dad has so many family members not too far away to pop in and check in on him. Hope he continues to improve quickly and gets to head home soon.
This is the Keni recipe I chose to make for this evening.
    Another Tilapia Parmesan
Not sure what to make as a side though?
My dinner last night went really, really well. We had SO much food! Jim did a bang up job bbq'ing the steak. We didn't even manage to eat half of the trilfe (I'll put a picture of it in my Avatar) so I managed to talk my girlfriend into taking the rest of it home with her to give away to her daughters, neighbours, whomever.....:)
It's chilly here. -15C/5F but a clear blue sky. Jim and I are going to shovel the pond in just a bit as we got about three more inches of snow last night and then we'll go for a skate. (Wish me luck I do better than last time!)

That's crazy about the snow Laurie. I hope you make it to your appt. okay today. Hope you make it through the grocery store okay!!

Marie, those Swedish Meatballs are delicious! The nutmeg is the secret ingredient, so don't leave it out! She does have the best recipes, I agree :)

That tilapia is another good one Janet! Okay I've made a ton of Keni's recipes, lol. So glad to hear your dinner went well last night, that trifle looks DELISH, and congrats to Jim for perfect BBQ'd steak :) I think the oven fries will be perfect. Good luck skating!!

I have the pork loin marinating away in the fridge, and have the cream cheese sitting on a heated oven to quicklycome to room temp. so I can get the cheesecake going!

I slept for 36 hours. Only got up for nature calls and when Olivia shoved some food at me. I'm very weepy. She is at work. We had a bit of cool air come in and the dogs are extra frisky. Even Charlie was running circles. I didn't realize it was Keni day. I'm not cooking.

I definitely would reschedule the test rather than deal with all that snow.
Thanks for the hugs and support. forgive my sporadic participation, I'm just not where I can cope yet. Love you all.

It is 39F here and supposed to be dropping.

Your trifle looks gorgeous, Janet. So glad you didn't pitch it. I wonder if it could be made in individual glass bowls instead of the larger one, although the ilook of that is so cool.

    Hi Michelle! Hi Marie!

Is this SNOW Sunday? Wow, Laurie! We are supposed to get snow showers later this evening but not a ton at once! - it is drizzling now, rainy all morning. We haven't seen 2 feet of snow since living in Massachusetts. Well, Michigan had its share, but spread out, not all that at once. Stock up on groceries, stay home, postpone your bone scan, and kick back with a good book.

Home from church - Wayne is dozing in his recliner and I am just relaxing. We ate at Miller's Grill (a franchise restaurant about 40 miles from home). I had 6 oz top sirloin and bacon wrapped shrimp. Wayne had baby-back ribs. Everything was great. We had water with lemon to drink, so rationalized an appy - salmon spread and deep fried tortillas. All was so-o good and I think I can duplicate it if I can figure out the spices. Now it is back to normal eating. Won't want supper tonight.

Tina, you are catching up on exhaustion and lost sleep from the last couple of weeks. Do try to eat something if you can. It will take time to adjust to the new world around you, and yes, there will be teary days. One of the ladies at church said she cried most every night after her husband died, for some time. As time went on, life became more bearable.

Is there a support group in the area for women who have lost their husband? It might help to share your situation with others who "have been there."

I'm dying to see a picture of your cheesecake Michelle! :) Jim and I got out for another skate and I did 100% better than the other day BUT I'm still very, very rusty. Need to try get out at least once more before the weekend as we have guests coming for Winterlude and a skate on the Rideau Canal.
I'm glad you got some rest Tina. You'll make it through this. One step at a time. We're here whenever you need a shoulder or lots of prs. of ears. :) Gentle hugs.
You could totally make the trifle in individual bowls Karen and that would be pretty. Your steak and shrimp meal sounded fabulous. As does Wayne's ribs.
Got lots of fresh air today and had a nice email from Benjamin. 13 days and counting!

Now they are saying 19-27 inches of snow for Tuesday. Ugh! I'm not sure what the protocol is for work. Hopefully on Monday they will tell us to stay home. It's a small office but we offer 24 hour service. Frank definitely has to go in he works at a hospital. Rachel is working at dunkin donuts after school but I'm sure if they declare a state of emergency she won't have to go in.
Tonight's dinner was a chicken sausage tortellini dish from emilybites.com. It was good.
Glad I chose to go to Shaws instead of Market Basket. I heard the lines where an hour long. I'm sure that was an exaggeration but I got in and out at Shaws.

Janet, the Swedish Meatballs were delish! As I stated in IMI, I only used 1/2 lb of ground meat..it was plenty for 2 people and just keep the sauce ingredient amounts the same..plenty of sauce:)

Michelle, I'm with Janet, can't wait to see your cheesecake:)

Tina, I'm so glad to hear you got some much needed rest..we're here for you and always thinking of you my dear xoxox

Laurie, I sure wouldn't be going to work with all of that snow, you don't want to be driving in that!!!!

Karen, it's 65F here at the moment..we had a few windows open earlier when it was warmer..but the woman next door decided to burn leaves..I can't stand her burning every other day..a beautiful day shot to H E double toothpicks..I called the Fire Dept a few weeks ago to ask the exact burning times allowed and she was legal..you used to have to have your fire out by 11:00 am, now it's something like 6:00 pm or so!! We have a yard waste container with our garbage service and it works just fine,,I wish she would use hers...ok, I'm all done ranting.,thanks for listening ..sorry for going on & on:)

Hi Joce:) How are you my dear?
