Sunshine Sunday

Good Morning Everyone. It's sunny and bright here is SW FL and 72(f). Temps are suppose to stay on the cooler side with very little to no humidity.

Our guy is suppose to put the second coat of sealer on the pavers today. I'm sure he'll be over once the dew burns off. The fumes yesterday were horrible. I could smell it all day and into the night. I don't know how anyone works with that stuff day in and day out.
Not sure yet what dinner will be. Since the grill is in the garage grilling is not an option.
Want to go to the fitness center today but we will see depending on what's going on here.
I'll get to the grocery store tomorrow to pick up the items I need for Thursday's Thanksgiving.

What are you all up to today?

Morning Linda! Send some sunny and bright my way please. :) It's about -2C here I think and we got two inches of snow overnight. Weather doesn't look like it'll be too bad so Jim and I will strike for home later on this morning. Ugh on the fumes. I hate stuff like that. It does make you wonder what you're breathing in to your body or allowing to be around your lawns or flowers.

I took out some cabbage rolls from the freezer yesterday morning so when we get home I can throw those in the oven and saute up some perogies.

    Have a great day everyone.

Eww! I hate fumes like that, Linda. I hope the smell subsides quickly.

We got about two inches of snow as well, Janet. Just remember when you get back here though that there is still ice from the freezing rain underneath it and be careful walking so you don't slip and fall. Yum cabbage rolls and perogies sound absolutely wonderful for dinner. Sending safe travels home.

We are doing laundry and then Den will go out and scrape off the cars and shovel the laneway. We are having a roast chicken for dinner.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

I try and live as "organic" as possible Janet ... no weed killers, pesticides, etc. but sometimes you have to use something to prevent something else. Sealing the pavers helps with mold, mildew, and fungus buildup especially during the rainy season. I just don't know how they work with something that smells so toxic day in and day out. I couldn't/wouldn't. I also don't like to expose wildlife to things either.
Yum on cabbage rolls and perogies.

Wow on both you getting snow Janet and Joce!

Roasted chicken is always nice Joce. Especially on a cold day. It's smells so good roasting and warms the house up nicely.

    Hi all.

Ugh on the fumes, Linda. Hoping all works out well and you are able to get around again soon. I don't use mouse poison bec it affects other creatures up the food chain. We do have some weed killer, not Roundup, but will use it sparingly....not sure of the ingredients and don't want to pollute the area.

No snow here, Janet. Jus a few sprinkles. It is sunny and colder today, in the 50 F range.

Hi Joce. Wow on the early snow, although we have had -7 F and three plus inches of Ice twice on the first weekends in November since we moved here.

More excitement here! Deputy sheriffs pulled over a local dude, who shot at them and sped off. They are still after him. He broke into a home the other side of town and stole guns and a truck. On the way to yesterday's fundraiser we saw two deputies parked by the main intersection, three miles from our road.... so Wayne is locking all doors and not leaving things out. He even carried when walking Fritz at night. Of course, Fritz only goes to the lit up areas,. If the motion lights don't come on, he stays in the flashlight glow. NOT a brave dog.

I keep hearing what sounds like shots, but with the sun room windows and doors between me and the sound, it is hard to tell whether they are. Some St. Louis crowd came up to hunt, in a large group, and the day before the season even started, fired 75 rounds of ammo in a few minutes. It sounded like a battle was in progress. It made the locals mad because that scared off the deer for legitimate hunting on opening day. Some people are just stupid and rude! Or possibly dead drunk.

It is dusk and I see at least one cat ready to come inside. Trouble is on the porch rail. They don't like the cold!

Going out early to hunt in the morning. Well, I go to assist, he does the shooting. Ha ha! See you later.

Holy Kamoly it's quiet in here today!!!!! WHERE IS EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!! :)

We learned first hand there was a layer of ice under the snow in Bancroft Joce! Stopped in to a super nice gift store there called "The Old Tin Shed" and when we went to leave we couldn't get out of the parking lot. We just had our winter tires put on last week but we were on an incline. The owner came out to help push and finally with both he and I pushing, Jim managed to maneuver the car up the incline and to a spot we were safe. Other than that the roads were better today than yesterday and we got home around 4:30. A Roast Chicken dinner sounds perfect for a cold November Sunday evening. Good choice!

I know you are very conscious of the environment Linda. It just makes me sad that as a society we still crank out stuff like that. I bet if we spent any time on it at all we could figure out an environmentally safe product but I do know it'd probably cost way more and may not be as effective.

It was a nice day. Jim's brother and SIL brought bagels and coffee and Jim and I brought eggs, o.j. and a bit of cheese and ham so I made breakfast sandwiches for everyone at the Club House at the Motel. It was nice. We headed off around 11:30. Stopped for lunch at a little place in Griffith on the way home. I had a Cheese burger and Jim had a HUGE toasted clubhouse sandwich. They did not hold back on the chicken that's for sure.

Snuggled in now and will put the cabbage rolls in the oven in a second. Jim's got the pellet stove and fire place going so we'll warm up shortly.

Today is the day Tina's daughter Liv and her beau Scotty were getting married. I chatted to Tina briefly a couple of days ago and am looking forward to seeing some pics on FB soon. Tina had been hospitalized prior to the wedding and I'm really hoping she was well enough to be able to attend. Sending the couple very best wishes and big gentle hugs to Tina.

SP Karen! :) Joce and I aren't actually experiencing snow 'early'. We have usually had some by now for sure. It's actually late this year. It'll disappear in a couple of days as the weather report says it's going up to 9C on Tues. SCARY on the local guy shooting and then speeding off????? Does he actually think he'll get away? Yikes on the sounds like shots and the St. Louis hunting crowd. 75 rounds of ammo in a few minutes? Sounds like Stupid to me with a capital S. And possibly dead drunk with a gun. I can't even......

Good luck hunting tomorrow. How many deer are you allowed per season?

Only the front needing an extra coat and not as much so the fumes were significantly less. The back was dry so I wheeled the grill out and made these since I had ground beef out. They were great! Hobo Dinner

Holy Crap on the local dude and the shoot out Karen. That's scary and I too would carry when going out. I guess it's that time of year, crime is always up when the holidays are near. Reminds me too that I should start when we go out. And too to just be more aware.
Rookies, that's what the hunting party is and I too would not appreciate their antics.

Sorry to hear Tina was in the hospital. I too hope she made it to the wedding and all went well. I wonder what food venue they finally settled on.
I too wish globally everyone would come to their senses Janet. Don't even get me started.
Yikes on the ice, glad you are home safe and sound. Enjoy your fire and stuffed cabbage rolls.

Hi Janet. Ugh on getting stuck. Cabbage rolls sound great, that and stuffed peppers are yummy, but Wayne won't eat them.

We have snow anywhere from November to the end of March, maybe early April. When we lived in Michigan it was anywhere from October to early June. One year in MO we had a big storm hit on 28 February and another a few days later in early March. The most we have had is 18 inches, and Wayne bladed the neighbor's drive and our road with the tractor so people could get out.

Public land permit ($17) is one deer. Landowner (free) is two, one antlerless and one any deer. I never get a public land one because of the crazies who don't know a deer from a cow and take "sound" shots without looking at what they are shooting.

The parts of our land next to the forest sometimes have trespassers come over. Wayne watched a hunter head for the fence, then made some noise so the guy turned away as if he wears not headed over the fence....ha!. We need to replace the purple paint on posts and trees to let people know this is private property.
