Test my mettle Tuesday!

    Good Morning Everyone!
Laurie, before I forget...how's the new job going?
I messaged Tina's daughter this morning to see if Tina's okay. Liv wrote right back and said that Tina's phone is dead too and they also got the dog spayed (I wonder which one?) so she's been taking care of her as well. Her....must be Lola?
Awake at 4:30 this morning. Argh. Both Jim and I totally fell asleep during the hockey game last night. I woke up with 5 minutes of it left! We have Jim's Aunt and Uncle arriving today for dinner and overnight and I'm so afraid I'll just konk out while talking to them this evening. How embarrassing would that be?
Have a ton of work to do before they arrive. Dusting and straightening up and then I have a mountain of food to prepare. I bought some cheese and crackers and will do a little veggie tray as appys and then I'm making Joce's
    Old Fashion Stuffed Pork Tenderloin
with maybe smashed potatoes on the side? Haven't figured out the potatoes exactly yet as there is a bit in the pork already.
I've got some asparagus I can saute up with some truffle sea salt and I'm also going to do
    Jamies Cranberry Spinach Salad
Dessert will be blueberries and pomegranate seeds with Lemoncello over top.
Wish me luck. Maybe I should buy a Red Bull?
Also trying to do up an announcement for the local newspaper in Mom's town inviting everyone to her Come and Go Tea. I've been searching through pictures all morning trying to find one that she'd approve of. :)
    Wishing everyone a great day!

Thanks for contacting Liv, Janet. I was just about to do the same thing. I am glad to hear she is O.K. Yup it has to be Lola, she is the only one that needed it. Lol when I think of someone passing out. I remember a friend of mine passing out at the table, face down into a plate of mashed potatoes:) Lol and you are serving mashed potatoes with my Old Fashion Stuffed Pork Tenderloin I hope that doesn't happen to you:) I am sure you will find a suitable picture of your Mom for the newspaper. Maybe you can get a quick nap in this afternoon? Have fun with your preparations. The blueberries with pomegranate seeds with Lemoncello over top sounds like it would be great over vanilla ice cream as well.
I have blood tests this morning and then I have to pick up milk and a few things. Dinner will be chicken something?
    Wishing everyone a great day!

I put the pic of my Mom in my Avatar that I'm thinking of using for the newspaper announcement. I think that was her Graduation picture. I asked them to crop it from chest up sort of. I'd love to take a short nap this aft. but I have THE HARDEST time trying to fall asleep in the day time! It's crazy. Good luck with your blood tests and errands Joce.

Waiting in the hospital patient waiting room. Wayne is to have his colonoscopy this morning. There are a bunch of school age and under kids with their parents. I thought they could not be in the patient area, but guess times are a changing. Decided I am definitely old fashioned....screaming kids need to be elsewhere...ha ha ha. A tall, African American soldier latched on to a fussy tired two year old and the child shut up, relaxed, and cuddled up in his lap. So funny....the little boy is quiet and secure on this man's lap.

Blueberries and pomegranate seeds sound really good for dessert.

Got to go. In his pre op lecture.

Morning!! Janet thank you so much for contacting Olivia, I miss Tina so much! I can't believe you already have guest this soon since you've gotten back?! Your a trooper! I think your menu sounds perfect...you've got it covered :) Manella (Eastcoaster) just added this to the IMI, sounds really good for your potatoes! Smashed Potatoes You and your Mom have the exact same smile!!!

Hi Joce, good luck with the blood test :)

Yeah, waiting rooms are all the same now Karen, kids and all lol.

The weather is supposed to be horrible today. It's currently 77 degrees, BUT the wind is blowing so hard and the forecast is supposed to be 90% chance of rain. I don't think I'm going anywhere, it's looking nasty outside. The house is pretty clean so I guess it's a free day for me :) Dinner: I'm not sure yet, still figuring that out. Thinking a beef stew maybe? Have a good day everyone :)

Hi Michelle! My Mom and I look VERY much alike and we also sound alike. I'm a mini-me. :) Yay on a free day for you. Beef stew sounds like a great idea for a blustery day.
Got my blueberries and pomegranates washed up and in nice little dishes but.....I have pomegranate stains ALLLLLL over my shirt. Argh. :)
    Dusting is done too.

Hi again. He passed with flying colors. Good for another five years because he has a family history of colon cancer. The nurse emphasized no hunting, guns, knives, driving, etc. and told him I was a tough one and would make him follow directions. A young soldier (aide, attendant, ?) in the army hospital said "I feel his pain" when he found out there was no hunting. His buddy is coming over with a deer but I lay down the law told him I had taken on the role of a nagging wife and law enforcer. He can't hunt in the rain anyhow, but that is beside the point.

Still raining. River on the fort was up to the banks, dry creeks were flooded and rushing toward low water crossings. My guess is J highway will be flooded sometime tomorrow. Somewhere over 3 1/2 inches in the last 36 hours or so, more coming. Horses are in the lower field, not too happy because they only have trees for shelter. Well, cedars and evergreens, so they are not bad off. We have to fix fences before they can be returned to the paddock or pasture, then after deer season.

So glad you contacted Liv - glad Tina is O.K. Enjoy your company, Janet.

    Hi Joce and Michelle.

Glad to hear Wayne got a clean bill of health. Wow! You are getting a lot of precip alright Karen!
I tried to nap. Laid down for an hour but no go. Got up and find JIm asleep in his easy chair in front of the pellet stove. LOL. Lucky him. Pretty well all set to go except for stuffing the pork. Guests should be here shortly.

Hi again. Wayne's buddy was here with the deer. We will process and package it, tomorrow morning. I let him back my car out of the way so they could back in and unload the deer, so he told his buddy that I had given him a dispensation. LOL.

Our daughter said when she checked MO roads that J Hwy was closed, which means the East Gate bridge into the fort was also flooded. Weird weather for fall. We got about six inches of rain, according to the news. Will likely go hunting tomorrow afternoon.

    See you later.
