Thankfully Thursday

Lazy B&W movie morning while I slowly get myself together to be ready for my 10:30 hair dresser appointment. Thankfully I'll be getting that oh so needed cut and color this morning. Mr. SuchAFuss has his company Christmas party on Saturday and I must look my best for him.

I believe taco salads are whats for dinner this evening. We made burgers last night and had plenty of 93/7 ground beef for four burgers as well as the taco meat for tonight. And I'm sure there will be plenty of taco meat left so I'll fix up some Cowgirl burritos from the extra for dinner on Friday. Oh yeah I'm set through Sunday since they'll feed us at the party.

What are your plans for today?

Otter and I were posting at the same time so I'll just move mine here....

Good Morning all....Wanted to thank you all for the lovely thoughts sent my way yesterday....Auto glass man is here now replacing the window.

Gonna do breakfast for supper..Have some leftover steak, onions and peppers from the other night's quesadillas that I'll add salsa to and turn into an omelet for Les. I'm not a huge egg eater so a simple scramble for me....And home fries.

It's always a surprise to me to pop up and not find a post open. Especially at 9;30a I guess we were all slow moving this morning.

    Mornin Girls!

Glad they are already fixing the Jeep, Wynne!

Both your suppers sound good. Probably some baked lemon pepper garlic chicken breasts, brown rice and a sauteed veggie mix at our house tonight. Easy easy and it just might get me off the hook since I haven't cooked much lately! lol I might even get wild and throw in some of Pat's salted crescent rolls! woooohoooo

Not very healthful eating today. Going to make some bread pudding and banana pudding. Oh yeah, I've a vegetable dish left over from yesterday so I guess it makes the desserts all right. Can't eat the banana pudding until tomorrow to give the vanilla wafers time to soak up some liquid and become soft. Instead of making an egg white topping for the pudding, I'm going to try something called egg threads as a topping. It's egg whites put through some type of sieve strainer into simmering sugar.

WYNNE---Gosh, I'm just now reading from your mishap yesterday! Sorry I'm so LATE, but good thing the dude is there fixing it for you. WOW!!! I would have needed a pair of Depends, let me tell you. Shoo---you are a good woman---I would have lost my cool all over the place! :-)

Breakfast for dinner sounds really good. Love that.

I've been CRAVING ground beef something-or-another, so going to pick up some today at the store while I'm getting the stuff to make the cheesecakes....hrm...

I've got it!!! Hamburger steaks with brown gravy, smash-fried taters and some fresh asparagus to go with. Yep, sounds like a plan!

    Y'all have a great Thurs,

Burrrrrrr - still very cold here in the Pacific Northwest. Not a cloud in the sky so it has the makings for a cold but beautiful day.
Wynne - glad your window is fixed. Is there more damage to be repaired?
We watched Julie and Julia last night. What a great movie - I could definitely watch it again and could definitely relate to some of the cooking episodes with Julie!
Making bratwurst and sauerkraut with apples and mashed potatoes tonight! Need to get some more baking done tonight.
Have a wonderful day everyone and hope your storms have moved out.

Yeaaah! Cold is right, Val! 15 here this morning! But very clear and pretty out. All your dinners sound good.
Glad you got the window fixed Wynne.
I'm doing something with one of the boneless pork sirloin packages I didn't freeze. Probably a stew of some sort.
Heard no chance of snow till Sunday so I'm good with my dinner on Saturday. Have a great warm day all!

Feeling a bit run down today. Pretty bad toothache yesterday wore me out.

Cic has a play tonight. She is Miss Muffett and the play is called Big Bad. I'm hoping I can get my camera working in time to get some video. Something is wrong with the new battery we bought.

Have a bunch of McD's coupons so will probably pick some of that up on the way home.

Oh, as it is the ODD group.... I found a bottle of Garam Masala sauce I had bought a while back by Culinary Circle so I cubing up my pork and some onions and simmering it with it - serving over noodles or rice. I know it would be best over rice, but we're kinda riced out. LOL

I don't think rice goes stale. Hopefully you have it closed up really tight! which I am sure you do point.

    Have fun at the play!!

LOL - I hope rice doesn't go stale. I have a big 20 lb. (or maybe it's 30) bag in the basement. Point, I didn't mean we were out of rice, I meant we've been having it a lot lately it seems... Well we ended up eating my pork in Garam Masala sauce over Jasmine rice. It was really spicy, but good. Pretty cinnamony (I guess that's a word) with curry.
Your pork egg rolls and duck sauce sound good, Laurie.
    So does your dinner, Pat.
Gotta put some choc chip bars in the oven for Brad. He's been wanting something - don't blame him. Been freezing all day working out in the cold!

McD's coupons will be saved for another day...probably over Winter Break will use them with the girls for lunch. Stopped at the Golden Corral for dinner to celebrate Cicely's great show. (I am full!) She is amazing how well she does on stage with being such a shy little thing on a regular basis.

Got my camera working but grabbed the wrong memory card...would only hold about 14 minutes of video. Joan let me bring home her video camera...will see if I can get the vid on my computer somehow.
