Personal shout out to my daughter....Happy 19, honey bun. Sorry you have to work.

Cleaning house and cleaning out the frig. There are some highly suspicious plastic ware that need to excavated from the depths of the frig.
If I can't tell what is in it, I'm getting a clothespin for my nose and pitching it!!!

All the talk of the Golden Corral reminds me that everyone was talking about the one in Pinellas Park......we are taking the kid out for her birthday supper...I was going to take her to the Reef and get her "freebie". But she eats there all the time and it wouldn't feel "different". She loves buffets, maybe we can make that trip up the road when she gets off work. Or there is Po-folks and all you can eat chicken fried steak night...that would tickle her fancy! Or there is Carmelitas and their "free dinner on your birthday" She loves mexican.....so many choices and only one DAY!!!

Have ya'll got your eggs in your basket? I made a little one for Olivia and Fred. I'm going to write up some clues and hide them tonight and we'll see who can find their baskets tomorrow.

    Blessings ya'll.

ENJOY Tina! Happy Birthday to Liv! I love the clue hiding game! My brother and I usedto do that with just ordinary stuff. A few years ago he had me running all over Mom's house to find my Christmas present, and by the time I got the last clue, to look under the tree, the present was there. GEEEESH....little brothers are such a pain. LOL Let us know wher you decide to have supper, sounds like a good time. I need to clean the science experiments out of the fridge too...

FINALLY gonna put the salmon steaks on the grill, and do the supper I planned yesterday, potatoes and dressed up green beans.

Making deviled eggs and a pasta salad to take to Mom's tomorrow. Off to walmart for groceries and Easter goodies for the brandbabies and Hillary...it's gonna be a madhouse...

    Have a great day!

Its grilled shrimp on the barbie here!
gonna color some easter eggs, them maybe there will be plenty left for deviled eggs. This is the first year I am not hiding the little plastic eggs. My kids are 9 and 11 almost 10 and 12, pretty sure the 12 year old is faking it. But I did get them some pretty cool things in their baskets. the egg thing would be too much of a PIA with the dog and Becca is trying to cut down on the junk food so I don't want to add more candy.

Well, I put some candy in the baskets, not much, because Fred will eat it in a single day if allowed. But, I added some cheap videos of really old movies...some Three Stooges and some Honeymooners for him. Lip gloss for Liv, moisturizer for Fred. A puzzle book, some new colored pencils and a sketch pad. Nothing too expensive but things to be diversionary for his long days alone.

Going to make the deviled eggs today for tomorrow. Going to do a gingersnap crumble to the top the sweet potato slices as they roast (adding herbs so it isn't too sweet). I hope it works, I'm still playing with the recipe in my head. Haven't figured out the glaze on the ham, want something different.

Broccoli rabe was good. Not as bitter as I assumed and the recipe was easy and done in 20. I'll post later if I have time.

Liv requested chocolate covered strawberries with the huge berries from Aldi's. They have a chocolate bar with chili in it. I'm thinking I might just melt a few bars of that and see what happens to strawberries dipped in spicy chocolate. That will suffice for her birthday "treat".

Happy Birthday to Jeanne......Have fun with the chinese.

I used to love to color eggs with my mom. We did the onion skin stain with rubber bands over the eggs making abstract designs. Red cabbage leaves and beet juice makes a good colorant but then your hands get stained too.

Doing the Happy Birthday Dance and Singing Off Key! Cheers :)

We are having dinner with some of the family at Bravo today so I'm off cooking. My husband's brother gave us gift certificates at Christmas for Bravo and another to the folks so with those dinner will be very inexpensive. It's an a new Italian place in our neighborhood but we haven't been there yet. Looking forward to it.

Pretty low key Easter here. I may color a few eggs just because it is fun. They are already hard boiled so why not. I have a leg of lamb but the folks said they'd prefer not to come to dinner so I'm going to look and see if there is a decent crockpot recipe. I'd like to travel over to Melbourne tomorrow and see the Art of Sand Festival. I think it would be a glorious way to celebrate Easter. Sun, sea, sand and art. Hoping.

Tina sounds like you found some cool stuff for the Easter baskets! I found stuffed dinosaurs and books in the closet that I forgot to wrap for the grandboys at Christmas, so....that's going in the Easter Trucks! (Is that tacky? lol). I found big plastic dump trucks (they are 1 & 2 - almost 2 & 3), that I will use instead of baskets. I have to run to the dollar store so I will find a few treats there. Found Hil a shirt and some coloring pencils. Bryan is on a diet and doesn't want candy...even though I know he will be disappointed if he doesn't have some resses! lol

Golden Corral was PACKED! I'm a bit claustrophobic and absolutely could not stand waiting in line to get my food. They had us crammed in the party room with another long table of people and then 2 other good size tables. We were shoved up against the wall and any time we wanted to get up it was a 'sorry', 'excuse me', 'pardon me' kind of thing. Food was pretty good. I love their fried chicken. I saw that they sell 'to go' boxes by the pound. Gonna call up and see what their prices are then might be able to talk him into to running by there sometime this week for a couple boxes of chicken. After the other long table of people left it was much more comfortable and I was able to breathe again. :)

Enjoyed meeting my niece's new fiance, Havis. She is a bit of a wild child and pregnant with her 3rd child at the age of 23. (I didn't even have my first till I was 23.) He seems like a very nice, funny guy. Handsome too! Has served in the military as a Marine and has a really good job at the French's factory here in town. The kids call him daddy and he is very good with them. I really hope she pulls her head out of her butt and sticks with him. Not many men will stand up and take care of another man's kids. She doesn't even have to work! Very respectful guy that helps out Steve's mom with just about anything she needs maintenance-wise. Cleaned out her gutters for nothing. Can you tell I really like him? LOL

Today we celebrate Cic's birthday with a cake. Jess is a bit jealous, feels like Cic always gets 2 birthdays. She has a hard time understanding that when we vacation we can't help it if it is always on Spring break and Cic's birthday falls in there. Hey, we ALL got to have fun at Florida. Not just Cic.

I am so behind with my Easter. Never did make it to get stuff for baskets and didn't get the eggs boiled like I wanted to last night....I have morphed from Peter Cottontail to the White Rabbit. "I'm late, I'm late for a very important date."

Happy Birthdays and Easter's all around! Love my online family!

Dump trucks aren't tacky...they are great. I got one of those big plastic trucks and filled it with with floral foam and grocery store flowers to make a centerpiece for a baby shower (we knew it was a boy). Baby boy Cavan had a truck to play with much much later. I like using something different than the usual baskets. This year the Easter Bunny used plastic totes that will magically hold cleaning supplies next week, one for dusting and one for toilets. That way a certain someone can't tell me he can't carry the cleaning stuff to his bathrrom....if it is in a tote he only needs one hand and the other hand can hold the cane........I can always hope it will work, right?

Ohhh, Ang, if our Golden Corral is packed, I'm not taking Liv there. I can't handle crowds either. LOL, she always feels cheated that her birthday falls so close to Easter. She doesn't always appreciate the Easter themed gifts she will sometimes receive. Rotten kid....said with a mother's insight.

Count me in on the appreciation of wind chimes.....I love them. They are soothing and just make me feel cooler knowing there is a breeze blowing somewhere.

Ummm, tacos...must go on the dinner list for next week.

Happy Brithday wishes to Cic and Jeanne.

When we went to Golden Corral, they told us we had to go early so we got there around 4:30 which is really early for us....but it was worth it for sure....Googled it last night and there is one in MA but not near enough to go for us...

Had pizza for supper tonight....Billy spent the whole day going shopping with us and hanging out.

WOW! Everyone is SO busy - I feel guilty not doing anything!

Happy 19th to Liv! Happy 33rd to Jeanne! Happy b-day to Cic, too!

    Chinese sounds good, Pat.

Sorry the Corral was so packed, Ang. Glad you like your niece-in-law-to-be-maybe!

I love wind chimes too! Although yesterday with the wind storm, they were a bit much after a while....

Calmer today, not sunny, not rainy, not anything - just a typical NW overcast day....

Ended up making chicken nachos last night - hadn't had 'em in a while. I have a rump roast thawed and realized I've never cooked one that I can recall. (it was in the 1/2 cow we ordered last year) Does anyone know if you just do it like a pot roast, or do you just roast it on a rack? Was planning on making French dips with it......

Okay, I just did some "research" and obviously, there's no "rule" when it comes to rump roast - some say the pot roast way and others put it directly on the rack with a drip pan below and roast at 375º for 1/2 hour and then down to 225º for 2 or 3 hours (depending on size) Because I want to do French dips with it, I think I better do it that way so I can slice it as opposed to it falling apart with gravy... (although that sounds really good - LOL) Decided to do it tomorrow - gonna have spicy teriyaki chicken and veggie stir-fry tonight over rice. My new go-to recipe.... good till he starts saying "didn't we just have this!" LOL

LOL Thanks Tina...I was poking fun at my CRAFT and asking if it was tacky to put the stuff I forgot to wrap at Christmas in the Easter trucks. They probably won't notice that Gammy is senile for a couple more years...I HOPE!

Happy BDAY to Jeanne Cic & Live!!!

No it isn't Pat, but then you know that now! LOL (pm'd) What a lazy day for me after I did my errands, and laundry, all I've done is prepare my teriyaki chicken to soak and played on here and FB! No wonder my neck and back are killing me! Wait, what's wrong with that sentence?! lazy and neck/back pain - kind of oxymoronic!
