Thirsty Thursday!

    Good morning!
Just a quick hello before I take Colter to physio this morning!
I woke up so thirsty this morning. It has been really dry here, even with our humidifiers blasting away! It reminded me of this Middle Eastern Café in downtown Nanaimo BC where we moved from called The Thirsty Camel, I miss it! They had some of the best food and spices, all fresh and delicious! http://www.thirstycamelcafe.ca/index.htm
There's a pub called the Thirsty Camel in Edmonton AB, but sounds more like a watering hole than a Middle Eastern restaurant! ;)
I'll have to catch up later with everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful day today!! :)

    Good Afternoon, everyone!
I'm just getting my lunch/diner together before I leave for OT.
Windy again today. We have another front heading out way and expect some rain.
The Thirsty Camel is a cute name. I'll send you some FL humidity, Shona...we have plenty to share.
Skippy got her hair cut and she looks so cute. Fred is sleeping in. He wore himself out in the garage clean up.
Time to get up and go.
Have a lovely Day ODD gang!

Hope your day goes quick for you TIna! I love it when doggies get fresh hair cuts...adorable :)
    Hi Marie!
I came across this recipe the other day, and knew I had to try it http://www.food.com/recipe/avocado-stuffed-portobello-mushrooms-203661
Made it for lunch today and OMG, it's so good!!! Not a big goat cheese fan so I used feta.
Not sure what dinner tonight is. Something meatless for sure...
    Have a great day :) :)

Shona, The Thirsty Camel's menu is right up my alley. I love hummus! I hope everything went well with Colter's Physio appointment this morning and I hope you had a great day.

Tina, Try and pace yourself today. Skippy probably feels much better with her new doo
does she prance around all proud of herself?

Marie, I hope you weren't too busy today! Try and take it easy if you can.

Michelle, That stuffed mushroom recipe looks really awesome! I wish I had some avocados and leeks at the moment sadly I don't. I will put them on my list to get when I am out on Saturday. Almost everything will be closed here tomorrow and Easter Sunday as well. The grocery stores will be moronic tonight and all day Saturday! I ran out to get some milk, eggs and bread and it was crazy in the stores!

Janet, LOL I would never in a million years figure out a washer with the direction buttons in Chinese! A good thing Ben came to your rescue with that! LOL It reminds me of a Comic we saw on TV he changed his Ipad to Chinese for fun and LOL then he couldn't figure out how to change it back to English, so he had to throw it out:) I would love to see that museum with all the Chinese artwork and artifacts along with those stunning gardens. No doubt you had fun in Pingxi finding out about all the Lanterns and exciting things there as well. It is supposed to be very hot and humid on Friday in Taipei
feeling like it is 40 C! Dress appropriately and try to keep cool:) Apparently they observe Easter Sunday there and on Tuesday they will be celebrating Matsu's Birthday while you are there too!

They dug up the end of my lawn maybe six feet by twelve feet next to the curb and sure enough a water drain pipe had broken totally apart. They had this big noisy truck with a large hose attached sucking all the water and gook out like a big vacuum going most of the day. They had to wait until the natural gas guys and power guys came to say they were good to go. Then they fixed the pipe and covered it all up. They said they would be back in about four weeks to put in some topsoil and grass seed. We are having pork tenderloin something for dinner. I will probably just mix up some Dijon mustard with brown sugar and balsamic vinegar then put that all over it and throw it in the oven. That is what I am thinking right now anyways.

    Hi Guys!
The Thirsty camel is a great name for a restaurant Shona! I checked out their website and it's very cool that you could even buy spice mixes and tea from them! Their menu is lovely! Hope Colter made out well at Physio. (Love your avatar) :) I'll send you some Taipei humidity too! :)
Do you cut Skippy's hair Tina or do you bring her to a Groomer. From all you've ever said about Skippy I would think she would not be at all keen on going to a groomer.
Funny to think that Taipei's temps and Chico's temps are the same this time of year Marie! It's going up to 31C/87F here today (It's Friday morning).
I'm not a fan of Portobello mushrooms myself. I think it's because they're so meaty. I like small mushrooms fine. But glad to hear you found a meatless recipe that you really enjoyed Michelle.
Glad you got the water main all fixed up Joce and that they'll be back to fix up your lawn. We ended up not going to Pingxi yesterday afterall. Between the wasted trip to the Hospital and then Benj went to get his hair cut but the place that does it is shut down 'til Sat. so he was frustrated and didn't feel like going on a long jaunt. So instead he brought us back to the Ximen district to see Longshan Temple, as well as an older Night Market area.
    http://www.lungshan.org.tw/en/index.php
We went for lunch at a Japanese Hot Pot/Shabu Shabu and BBQ place. All you can eat and free beer for two hours. LOLOLOL. I think it's amusing they put a time limit on it but of course it makes sense. It was delicious and we ate so much that neither Jim nor I ate dinner. Benj came over to the Hotel in the evening and visited with us. Today he has to work most of the afternoon so Jim and I are going to go with him back to the Hospital and then go see what his school looks like and then mosey around that area for a couple of hours and meet up with him later tonight for dinner.
I had to google Matzu. Didn't know who that was. Goddess of the sea.
    Have a good evening everyone!

Hi Joce! After you said that some things will be closed tomorrow I panicked since I have a huge farmers market trip to do tomorrow. I looked it up online and they are only closed on Sunday...PHEW! Glad to hear your yard won't be in shambles for too long :)
Janet that is too cool about the Japanese BBQ place having all you can eat and FREE beer for 2 hrs!! Knowing my husband he would be hammering down as many as possible in that 2 hrs... just cause it's free! Sweet dreams everyone :) :)
