    Good Morning Everyone!

I love the “mismatched” fine china look Janet … why I never thought to mix two of my own patterns up when setting the table I don’t know. Your wisdom regarding is right-on! Great idea.

Kimmer and Karen one of the funniest “boy child” stories I ever heard was from a co-worker some years ago. She had 2 teenage boys and would fight tooth and nail with the oldest one to keep his room clean. One day she was on him to clean his room and he couldn’t go outside to be with friends until his room was clean. So he took a couple garbage bags and filled them up with all the junk/clothes laying around and opened the window and dropped the bags out of sight and figured he would retrieve them later. When later came it was his mother (my co-worker) who found them. She was so furious since they were already in garbage bags she threw them out! and figured whatever was in them he was doing without.

I think I found a picture/link to your china patter Karen … is this it? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Noritake-034-Ireland-034-7-Piece-Place-Setting-2765-Eileen-Gold-Trim-EUC-/331734115960?nma=true&si=eogwUBdiNrvPRy9kVTy45UqlC9A%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
This one is real pretty too.

Yesterday I took a pack (2 pieces) of blsl chicken breast out of the freezer, cut them in big chunks, marinated in white wine, spices, and an herb flavored olive oil and grilled them. Served over top a blended rice mixture and with green beans almondine.
This afternoon we have Kenpo so we’ll eat out afterwards.

Where is Tina? Looking for a Wintery/Holidayish avatar. Hope all is well for her.

Just for the heck of it I posted a picture of my stinky pear soap.

LOLOLOL @ the boy putting stuff in garbage bags and dropping it out the window Linda. When I was in college I lived in a Co-Ed dorm and of course since that was the first time a lot of us had lived on our own, we as a group had to find our way to live communally. There were a couple people amongst us (guys) and they always left their dirty dishes, pots and pans, leftover food, ingredients used, etc. out and would just go on to some other task elsewhere and leave that mess. The rest of us sure weren't going to do their work for them but we also didn't want to cook and live with that around us so we had a floor meeting and decided that if anything, and I mean anything, was left behind for more than an hour, it would get thrown out the kitchen window. And we did that. 'People' quickly caught on. I remember some of them heading out and retrieving anything of value that hadn't broken on the way down from the fourth floor. Hadn't thought about that in years. LOLOL.
Your grilled chicken dish sounded wonderful. Enjoy Kenpo and your meal out. I'd love it if Tina returned but she's been awfully quiet for quite a while now. Joce? Are you able to change the avatar? Your stinky pear soap is very pretty. :) I like the 'waves' on the top of the bar and the pattern of the green.

Jim has agreed to either head in to see our Dr. today or a walk in clinic so we'll get to the bottom of his dizziness which is good. I have a TON of errands to run, Costco, groceries, Post Office, a bit of Christmas shopping, etc.

Pulled a jar of spaghetti sauce out of the freezer so dinner is easy peasy.

That's good your MIL's house closed yesterday Bren but I know that is sad for you. I hope your MIL was okay signing off.

    Wishing everyone a great thursday!

Morning! Too funny on the co-worker throwing out the boys garbage bags, yikes! Your chicken marinade from last night sounds great, did they soak up the flavors? Your pear soap turned out beautiful, even if it did stink :P Is it at least usable?

I'm really tired today, I could have kept on sleeping, but of course my alarm went of a 5:30 and it was time to get up. Got the kiddos off to school, dishwasher running and washing machine started. Not a whole lot going today, tonight we FINALLY have a free night so we are going to get these decorated Italian Shortcrust Cookies I made them on Friday, but have had them in the fridge the whole time, they should stay good for a while right? I hope so! Also made these yesterday Lemon Meltaway Cookies and of course I ran out of time, so I am going to ice them today as well.

I have about 50-60 lemons that we picked off of our tree the other day, and other than giving them away, I've been on a search of what to do with them, and I found that you can freeze lemons whole! So that is what I'm going to do :)

Dinner is still undetermined, I really need to get some chicken, when I went to the meat market the other day they were out, so I may try again today. Wishing everyone a great day!!

That's good your DH is seeing the doctor today Janet. Hoping it's something as simple as a clogged inner ear and that he feels better soon.

The stinky pear soap is usable Michelle. It faded so much it barely smells like anything now and I'll use it. Nothing wrong with the soap other than I think it's ugly too.
Wow! on picking so many lemons off your tree! That's awesome and yes they can be frozen whole and juiced later and/or used for zest. What about making some lemon zest infused sugar to use for teas, hot or cold, and given in small jars for teacher gifts, thank you gifts, etc. with a box of tea?

Haha, funny story about the boy and the garbage bags, Lol! Your soap looks lovely Linda, looks like a dark green sage color which is nice. Too bad it's still smelly. Have fun at Kenpo!

Oh gosh, another funny story! Haha, that's too funny about throwing the dishes out the window. Sometimes that's the only way guy's will listen, is with action over words ;) Thank goodness Jim is going to the doctor. Hopefully they can send him for test's to figure it out, and that everything is a-ok!

Hi Michelle, have fun decorating cookies today! I didn't know you could freeze whole lemons! I sometimes throw them in the compost if they get dry, I should put them in the freezer before they dry out! I've made this a couple times, Lemon Pepper Seasoning. And if you don't use the juice for anything you can freeze it in ice cube trays, then put the frozen cubes in ziplock bags. You can use the cubes for recipes that call for a small amount of juice like salad dressings etc..:)

Another frigid day, I feel like I live in the Artic Circle! On the way to dropping the kids off at school, my left signal decides not to work. I forgot Pete took the truck to work so I could of drove the Nissan, lol. I don't really like the car, it's too small, no elbow room, hard to see out the windows....etc..but I guess I should try and like it. :P
Sophia has a Christmas Concert this evening so I'll make an early dinner. I think I'll make Lasagna Soup, it's quick and easy and in one pot :) We got the lights on the tree by 9pm, so the kids and I will decorate it tomorrow since they have a pro-day (no school). And I'll start wrapping presents too!
I used my new Burr grinder for coffee this morning. Love it! It's really loud, so I'll know to grind coffee the night before next time! I like that the hopper holds a 1/2 pound of beans, and the drawer removes completely with the grounds--making it easy to fill the coffee basket and less mess than my regular grinder. We got a Cuisinart brand.
Speaking of coffee, I need a refill before I get on with the day and do some housework.

    Have a great day everyone!

The flavored olive oil is best used as it is (at least I think so) Michelle. The chicken did pick up some flavor but then grilling it makes it somewhat undetectable and too I don't marinate it for that long because DH doesn't like strongly flavored foods. The company does have some awesome things and the quality is excellent.

SP Janet! That college story is hilarious, and from the fourth floor! :P Let us know how Jim's appt. Goes, hopefully the doctor can figure out what his dizzy spells are from.

Love the idea of the lemon infused sugar and yea for teachers Linda, I may just use that!

Also love the idea of the lemon. Juice in ice cube trays, I may do that too! Good luck to Sophia at her concert, is it like a choir thing? Bri did that last year :) wow that is a big coffee grinder, I may need to invest in something like that, mine is just a small Krups brand and takes about 20 times refilling to get my coffee thing full.

I love all the china patterns you all have! Linda your soap looks great to me and I am glad it doesn't smell so bad now. Lol too funny about the boy throwing his things in a garbage bag out the window.

Lol Janet, you threw things out the window too! Glad to hear Jim is going to get his dizziness checked out.

Michelle, Very nice you have your own lemon tree! I am very envious! I freeze lemons whole or cut up and they zest really well when frozen. I also freeze limes and oranges for the same reason. That trick has worked very well for me. You can also freeze whole fresh peaches. Lori, does that every year b/c someone gives her a bushel of fresh peaches every year. She is lucky b/c the peaches down south are juicy and much better than the ones we get here. Good luck getting all the things you are planning done.

I am still working on my Christmas cards b/c Den has such a large family. We get picture cards of all our great nieces and nephews and they total 15. Then I send to friends and family and I think I will be sending about 35 to 40 cards. Some I write a note in so I try to do those first. We may have breakfast for dinner tonight which is good b/c it is easy and we don't usually eat breakfast so having it for dinner is a treat!

I hope everyone has a great day!

Shona, I bet Sophia will be cute in her Christmas concert. Keep trying out the Nissan and no doubt you will eventually like it, especially in bad weather. I am glad you like your new coffee grinder.

Yep, Sophia's class is singing Christmas carols, well the whole school is. This year it's at the Multiplex arena, so some other schools might be joining in? I thought the burr grinder would be too big sitting next to my coffee maker. But it's not as big as I thought. Storing the beans and grinding exactly the amount you need is a huge bonus!

Hi Joce--yeah I probably need to keep driving it for awhile. We've talked about selling it, we can't put Roxy in it or fit the whole family in to pick up our parents from the airport etc...Unless we keep the van as well and use the 3 cars? We'll see...
I didn't know you could freeze whole peaches either! You'd have to try the Okanogan peaches---juicy, peachy, golden goodness--nothing beats them! :D
Good luck getting all your Christmas cards done.:)

That lasagna soup sounds so good Shona. On my list to make in January! How cute about the Christmas concert. Do all the kids sing songs or is it a play?
Wowzers on the new coffee grinder! Can it be used to grind other things other than coffee beans?

That's a lot of cards to send out Joce but nice that you still do it. When we were working I would send out almost 200 cards between clients and friends/family. I would start in November and do a handful every night till they were done and too I wrote something special in each one.

Hi Joce! Glad to hear freezing lemons/limes/oranges works for you as well :) Lori is lucky to get all those peaches, I could make the heck out of some pie or cobbler with all of those! Enjoy your breakfast for dinner, we love doing that.

Cute on the Christmas carols Shona, I bet she’ll have a blast putting on the show!

Linda, I bet that flavored olive oil is fantastic! I buy a brand called Calivirgin that basically has the same flavors as your brand, and pretty much the same price too. I did make my own garlic infused olive oil though, it was super easy and cheap! I want to make the basil or lemon infused next :) Oh and I have 2 separate grinders, one for coffee only and then one for spices and food related things..

Got the Lemon Meltaways iced and they are SO GOOD! I ate 3 while taste testing lol, but they are very small cookies :P Can’t wait for the kids to get home and taste test them!

Oh! I forgot to say! I can only delete threads and ban unwanted people. I cannot change the avatar. Tina comes and goes on FB and I think she only has limited use of the internet now through her phone. I hope she notices it and changes the theme to something suitable for all year round.

Good afternoon everyone, It's been a very busy day and I just sat down, whew.
That story is hilarious Linda. I LOVE the look of your soap and just a little scent would be right up my alley. Yum on the chicken. That's a reasonable price for a good quality oil, I just wish that shipping wasn't so expensive to us.
Another hilarious story Janet. I can almost see you pitching things out the window with glee. I'm glad that Jim has agreed to see a Dr. Fingers crossed that it isn't anything serious. I'm happy that it's finally over but also a little sad.
I am so envious of your lemon tree Michelle. I have this in the fridge: http://toriavey.com/how-to/2014/02/how-to-make-preserved-lemons/
    to make: http://abc.go.com/shows/the-chew/recipes/moroccan-roast-chicken-michael-symon
Yikes on the cold and your turn signal. I have a cuisinart burr grinder and love it. I have that soup recipe saved but it will have to wait for a bit. DH is souped out.
Good luck with your cards Joce and enjoy your breakfast for dinner.
Costco had lean ground pork on sale, 7 pounds was 15.00. They also had whole pork loin roasts on sale. I bought both and vac packed into smaller amounts when I got home.
Dinner will be leftover Meat Loaf, Al Italiano
I made it a little differently this time by using 1/2 beef and 1/2 chicken. While I liked the flavours I wasn't pleased that I forgot to saute the veggies. Shish, I can't follow my own recipe.
I had best get dinner on the table. I'll check back later if I get a free minute.

Hope you have a great free evening Michelle. I know you don't get many. Hope you had fun decorating your cookies, Holy Crum on having that many lemons. That is crazy awesome. The only time I ever saw a lemon tree was in Italy and I was in downright awe.

I so want to make that Lemon Pepper seasoning Shona and just haven't done it yet. Hope you got your signal light fixed. Our left one on the trailer doesn't work so sometimes I drive creatively so that I don't have to use it. :) Have a wonderful time at the Christmas concert. Lasagna soup sounds perfect. That's great you are pleased with your new coffee grinder. My coffee grinder is just a tiny one and like Michelle I have to do it numerous times to fill up my coffee tin.

Breakfast for dinner sounds excellent Joce. So you get pictures of all your great nieces and nephews and print them out on one card? That'd be so fun to receive each year to see the change from year to year.

Wow on sending out 200 Christmas cards Linda. I can't even imagine. :)

Drats, I was just at Costco Bren but didn't notice the pork loin roasts on sale or I would have grabbed one for sure. We bought one a while ago and it was super good and really tender!!!!

Well....we had a productive day. Drove Jim to the Clinic first. He's got Vertigo. Nothing to do about it but be careful not moving too quickly and it'll settle itself eventually. He's actually saying he's feeling better already. We'll see how he feels when he gets up tomorrow morning.

Did a big Costco run, birdseed, lots of fruit and veggies for the weekend, some fun stuff like 4 year old Balderson cheddar and a nice pk. of prosciutto. Oh! And they had their Seafood sale on and we bought an organic Chinook farmed salmon for $27. I got 8 decent sized steaks out of it and then a bit extra that I can use up in Bibimbap for eg. Got my Mom some more clothes so I can send her off her Christmas parcel. She looks really good in red. Jim saw five small lobster tails on sale at Sobey's for $19.99 so we bought some to have on New Year's Eve. I forgot to buy more Christmas cards and I also forgot to go to the Post office to buy more stamps and mail the cards I have already finished, but no biggy.

    Good afternoon everyone.

So funny about all the fun throwing things out the window. Sometimes that is what it takes. Hate it when people don't clean their messes and expect others to do it for them.

Hope Jim is feeling better soon. I recommend a good chiropractor!

Michelle, I didn't know you could freeze lemons. I froze some bananas but have not defrosted them yet to use in banana bread. Sounds like another busy day.

Linda the soap is not ugly, love the bright green waves.I am on my phone and can't look up the URL but I am sure that is the one. Will check it when I can get on the laptop.it has a basket weave with small bouquets around the gold trimmed rim. Quite difficult to find an image of that particular pattern by using Google.

    Pork roast sounds wonderful Bren!

Good your new grinder works well, Shona!

I have been wondering about Tina also Joce, have only see her occasional FB posts.

We did some errands and shopping for Christmas this morning. Found a gift for the family that Wayne stays with when he stays over. Picked up GS for swimming this afternoon and ran some more errands.

Stopped into the Red Bird gifts in Rolla, and they had some gorgeous hand soaps, bought one for daughter for Christmas in a honey scent and another in cranberry for me. They had a red wine stain remover that I got to remove stains from communion linens at church. I drooled over boot socks, may actually buy some after the holidays. They have a boutique but am sure it caters to size 6 college types so have not gone inside.
Bought too much stuff at WalMart....GS is outgrowing his school jeans so I got the next bigger size. Two pair of cargo pants and one of jeans. Will put them with his other Christmas presents. The middle one is getting cash. The oldest, something for his apartment. Or slip resistant shoes for work. Wayne and I often sneak away from family and get our gifts. He wants tools that I don't understand so he buys what he wants and if family is opening presents together we stick them under the tree and act surprised. Ha ha.

Found a nice Christmas tree. The pre lit artificial ones were $298 to $698, we de used to pass.

Elections for Fire Dept board member will come up soon and I have to spend time at the station to sign up candidates. Well, only one will be elected but we will have to pay for the election if we have more than one person running or not enough. Have a lot of time invested in elections. I want to put together an SOP for myself and the Secretaries who follow. [Please, some one, take over...LOL.].

GS is swimming and Wayne and I are being dutiful grandparents and watching. After the Rolla McD screwed up our orders the umpteenth time we refuse to go there, so either Wendy's or Arby's for supper.

    Have a great day everyone.

Hello All. Third try now to post so this one, if it takes, will not be as long. Been busy as most all of you have been. Boys had softball practice tonight and spent too much time trying to find warm pants for them. Now, for all you northern ones (especially Canada) we all have sand in our shoes here so if it gets below 60F........we be cold, LOL! But with my constant, good always comes out from stressful situations attitude, realized I need to buy some sweat pants for the boys for Christmas! Been awhile since they had any new and time. My son Benny plays in an adult softball league which pretty much goes all year long. Cayce is allowed to play with my sign off on forms. They love it. Both of course being ex baseball players. Anyway, they are off now to that. Dinner was baked ravioli, garlic bread and suppose to be salad. Funny thing, plated up everything and sat down to dinner. We always have a salad of some sorts with pasta and sauce dishes. Well, sitting there enjoying dinner when realized something was missing but couldn't quite put my finger on it. When we were done, husband got up from the table and said (in all his glorious humor) oh, by the way, great salad tonight. OMG! Completely forgot to make the salad and that's what was missing! Totally planned on a salad but completely left my Christmas soaked mind! We all did have a laugh about it. Aw well..........life goes on, lol!

Sleep salad free Sweet tonight all..............as always..............
