Good morning Pat! No, you are not seeing things....I am actually up and about at 7 am. Preparing for round #563,872 with Mighty Mouth.

Dinner. Really don't know about that right now but thinking of whipping up some biscuits and gravy for the little ones. I might make MM eat gruel. Pretty irritated at her right now.

I know how that can be Ang. My daughter gave me a run for the money. How were your patty melts last night? How is your friend doing?

Had a short round with the garden this a.m. Finished fixing the tractor. All of 5 minutes work and I am leaking all over the place. Way to humid for any substantial outside endeavor.

Supposed to rain today and tomorrow, then get nice.

Finished off all the minestrone yesterday and there was a lot. Then got the munchies last night and had a tube of Ritz crackers followed by an eight egg scramble with cheddar. Today's napping will be broken up with trips to the restroom.

Patty melts were yummy as usual.

When Steve came home after taking her home he said she did have a mini stroke. It's one of those situations where she really needs to get away from the people that are around her right now. I think she is really hurting and still feeling guilty about her husband.

Glad it wasn't a strok Ang. Stress can do so much to a person.

I don't eat eggs that often, well with the exception of the past few weeks because of my sore mouth, so when my body says eggs, I listen.

Two lousy cups of grape juice. Pretty poor crop this year. Adding 3 cups apple juice to compensate. Could have added store bought grape juice but the apple juice has pectin in it to help the jelly jell. I'll have 32 half-pints, minus a couple I used, to sell tomorrow at the farmers market.

So sorry to hear that Ang! Hope she will be alright! Thats so sad!

Hot one here again!!! No rain again!!! Thank God for A.C.

We're just having some kind of breakfast for dinner!

    Have a great day everyone!

Nothing much happening over this way today---a nice break from the usual! :-)

I can't come up with anything interesting to do with these thin pork chops, and my pantry is *so* bare. So I think what will happen is a bottle of lemon-pepper marinade then throwing them on the grill for a couple minutes this afternoon. I don't have any of the usual "pantry staples," like mushroom soup, onion soup mix, etc.---or they might taste really good, LOL.

Anyway, pork chops on the grill, baked taters and probably a raspberry jello salad for the Bratty One---raspberry's his fave. :-)

    Y'all have a great one!

    Hey all!

That's a LOT of salads, Pat! Sounds good.

Ang, Sorry to hear that, hope Steve's friend gets the care she needs. Mmmm biscuits and gravy... and gruel. LOL

Points, I'm speechless...... 8 EGGS! Enjoy the jelly - hope you sell a lot.

Lillian, are you still on vacation?

    Knox, dinner sounds good.

I'm clueless for dinner, AGAIN. Still have the leftover chicken breast and potato salad, now add to that last night's cod/enchilada cheesy sauce combo. I could eat that again - now if I could only convince Brad to eat the breast and salad.

Another beautiful day here. Hope you all are having a nice day.

Ok, I broke down and dozed on the couch a bit while the girls were watching cartoons and playing. For some reason it is relaxing to hear them while I rest. :)
Big Brother night and will be a good one so I am going to throw something in the crock so I don't have to worry about getting anything done later. I have legs, thighs and breasts leftover, will shred and use
    http://www.grouprecipes.com/75995/slow-cooker-chicken-taco-filling.html
as a guide. I've got way more meat than 4 breasts and it's already cooked so will work with it.

I wish I could send some rain to all you who want it. It's been dreary all week and it's the last week of Summer for the girls. Not much fun stuck inside. Last night's weather was really weird. I swear that digital box weather on the garage T.V. was messing with me. Right when I was shutting down the computer all the lights went off, satellite went out, so I go out to check that one and it showed this big red line of storms coming straight for us with what I thought were little twister symbols just to the North. Wind was crazy and I started freaking out. Woke Steve up and started getting flashlights and girls ready to take cover...he go's out to check and whatever I had seen was gone...just gone. I felt like I had lost my mind! lol, surely had nothing to do with the blowout with the teen right before...surely not....

I changed plans cuz he got home early yesterday and when he whined for the cookies and said it wasn't that hot in "here", I figured WTH, I just as soon turn on the oven. It wasn't that bad - maybe I'm getting used to it. Probably cuz it wasn't humid, just hot. Had the fan blowing on high all the hot air outta the kitchen.

Or as close to straight as she can. She needs to get away from the people she is around right now.....

Just pulled the jelly out of the water bath. Jars took less than 30 seconds to ping. Glad I'm away from all that boiling water. A storm is moving in and the humidity is really up. I'll have a nice collection of jellies to take to market in the morning. It's supposed to rain in the a.m. Hope it doesn't chase too many customers away.

Still have to go to the store and do some jelly pricing.

Good luck points...hope you have a successful jell.

Wynne, honey, hope you feel better.

Ang, sorry about Steve's friend, let's pray she heeds the advice and gets to a place for nurturing and comfort. Your slowcooker meal sounds good.

Lillian have fun at the flea market, good hunting for you.

Lori, missed you GF, glad to see you.

You, too Knox, hope all settles down for you.

Donna, baking cookies in the heat, you are a wonder.

Laurie, love eggs benedict...wish I had some English Muffins now, myself.

Same status in our cupboard........unless you look at the six boxes of frozen salisbury steaks.....and I'm sick of chicken, texture, flavor and my own cooking blahs.

Pat, my kind of meal, I could do a little of this and little of that and be very happy.

I'm debating about those salisbury steaks and chopping them into spaghetti, but no one really wants spaghetti. We've done chili this week, had itty bitty chickie stir fry, lots of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chicken and dumplings are gone.

I wish I could click my heels tonight and have dinner made. I am tired.
That settles it. Cereal or eggs. Or leftover chili rice. Time to get the verdict.

Caught myself on the counter but it was a close one and she said......"I didn't have time." Let's see from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30....you couldn't find time to walk YOUR dog.

made pasta ala olio, or pasta with garlic and oil. Funny no one was hungry for dinner so I only made one box of pasta and they came out of the woodwork when it was ready.
Wynne I hear ya, I am contemplating a drink myself.

Wow, Tina, it never ends does it? I feel like I am on an uphill climb right now with this one. Was hoping by the time she is Liv's age we could find some kind of even keel.....and these are the good kids! I could only imagine if she was as ornery as me at that age...no, not gonna put that out in the universe. haha Steve got home and we 3 had a sit down at the breakfast counter and tried our best to get her to hear us. Maybe something got through. Keeping fingers crossed. And yes if you haven't figured out by now, he is the sensible one....otherwise we would have a puppy right now. lol

wynne, sit back and enjoy that drink and the game...Steve said to tell you he only watches the good teams..nah, just kidding, lol, he's glad you got your boy back. :)

I think Points had enough eggs for the whole group!

Funny how that happens Laurie. Could you give me your proportions on ala olio. My daughter in laws mother makes it and she's not the Italian,I know,I know you are not either but it is so bland they always use ketchup on it. The first time I saw it I thought they were nuts thwen I tasted it! All you ladies should have a drink! You deserve it!! I am doing Manhattan tonight for a change

Aw,haven't had a Manhattan in ages, good stuff. Just looked longingly at the bottle of Roses lime juice in my frig and wished there was a bottle of gin for a gimlet or for those very pricey jalapeno stuffed olives I have in there. Oh well. Can't buy booze...Fred will find it and drink himself into oblivion, he doesn't have the sense to stop once he starts. So it is just simpler not to have any of the demon in the house. Going out once in awhile and getting him a beer soothes the savage beast, but only for so long. Every medication he takes says "no alcohol" and he seems to think he is the only one this does not apply too. Just like when he smoked two packs a day, complete denial that it would cause his strokes, even though he was told so by every doctor in his life. I have to count my blessings.....he has given up the cigs.

Ang, I can only hope the talking did help. I get the big eye roll and I just want to scream. She seems to think she is owed something because our life has been rough, instead of trying to overcome obstacles, she is stuck in neutral, big time. I know that depressed states are a risk for her...and I don't want her backsliding into even worse habits that took lots of counseling to cure. But I can't seem to get her motivated anymore.

Well, Fred had chili and rice, And I had a scrambled egg with chives. So, I'm officially on the egg band wagon. Fred is happily eating the last of the blueberry pie with ice cream, so I dont' feel bad for not cooking.

Charlie Brown is on his back, tossing his chew bone in the air and catching with his paws. He is so cute. He was trying to hump his stuffed frog not too long ago....It is as big as a king size pillow and he used to perch on top....now he is doing the unspeakable to the poor wretched eyeless toy. He still barks the squeak of a weenie dog....when his deep bark arrives, it will be a shock.

Sorry, I don't measure anything pleclare. I used one box of pasta and then 1/2 stick of butter and probably 1/3 of a cup of oil. and then maybe two tablespoons of garlic paste, salt pepper and some fresh basil.
We all reek of garlic though.
