Thoughts for Tina Tuesday

  • chuckieb 9 years ago
Our thoughts are with you today Tina. We're all there right beside you in spirit. People will be at the Celebration of Fred's Life this evening to honour him and remember him. Be strong for Liv and know Fred is with Tyler and they're having a good laugh and a big hug. I hope you got a decent sleep last night. Liv's Lab and Bulldog companions sound lovely.
That's cool on the coywolves Laurie.
Neat you have eagles close by Karen! They're sooooo big!
I am humming and hawing whether I should try this recipe this evening.
    Sassy Steak Marinade And Sauce/print
I'd like to make a flank steak and the cocktail sauce in this intrigues me BUT the honey worries me. I guess I could add a little honey and stop before it becomes too sweet. Maybe a nice tossed salad on the side. Maybe a baked potato?
It's a lovely clear blue sky day today. What was the expression Lori's Mom used to have? I'll have to ping her to ask. It's -19C/-2F.
Internet was being tempermental this morning but think it might be behaving okay now. Jim and I are planning on going out for lunch and then to a movie. We're thinking of trying a new Restaurant partly owned by one of our Ottawa Senators Hockey Team players, Chris Neil.
    http://centralbierhaus.ca/
Although now I see the menu I wonder if it's a bit limited?
    http://les3brasseurs.ca/eng/location?id=16
is also an option as it's close to the Theatre as well. Hmmmmm.....
Then we're going to go see "American Sniper". There's a few really good movies out I'd like to see. "The Imitation Game" also looks very good.
Jim and I have been very good getting down on the treadmill four times a week.It didn't hurt so much today either. :)
Tina, hope you don't mind I downloaded a photo of you and Fred from your FB page. Hugs.

Janet, I was thinking of calling the thread" A Tribute to Fred Tuesday". You got here first:) You thought of a wonderful title for today. It is a lovely pic of Fred and Tina with big smiles on their faces. It should bring back a good memory for Tina:) I am sure you and Jim will enjoy "American Sniper" and I hope you like the new restaurant for lunch. Yes I think you should cool it a little on the honey in that recipe considering both you and Jim aren't fond of anything sweet with meats.

Laurie, We watched an interesting program on PBS last winter about Coywolves and I can't remember the actual title of the program? I will see if I can find it for you. Very cool about the fellow who is photographing the ones near you! Here it is http://video.pbs.org/video/2365159966/

Shona, I hope everyone in your household is feeling much better today and "The Magical Germ Killing Fairy" did visit you.

I am making chicken something for dinner tonight? For the past couple of weeks I have been making one of GKWillow's Bacon Baked Chicken With Creamy Mushroom Sauce and it is very very good. I keep forgetting to download the pics of it to make a review on it in IMI! BAD EH! Maybe b/c, my pics aren't very good? Now that I have said that maybe, I will remember to do it!!!

Tina, Thinking about you and Liv today. I know it will be a hard day for you today but, it will be A Wonderful Celebration of Fred's life. HUGS))) Also sending "The Magical Germ Killing Fairy" your way:)

Janet, This menu is different than the other one you gave? http://centralbierhaus.ca/menu/
I would love to try their pork belly and I am still lingering over the menu. They have Wild Boar on the menu! Cool! Chris Neil is a tough guy on the ice but, apparently when he gets off the ice he is quite mild mannered shy. It looks like quite a classy Gastro-beer sports restaurant/bar.

    Good morning ladies:)

Tina, you and Liv are in our thoughts today. Your celebration of Fred's life sounds absolutely wonderful..a beautiful tribute to Fred. xoxox

Janet, I hope you enjoy American Sniper..it's quite moving. I love the picture of Fred and Tina..

Joce, that recipe does sound good:) I'm sure your pictures are great! Now that the IMI Police know you made a recipe and didn't post it..yet...you might want to get that sucker posted:-D LOL, just kidding dear..I do have a weird sense of humor at times:)

We were in Oroville getting Rick's dad transferred to another acute care facility most of the day yesterday..the place he was in was bad, we had NO idea..and we didn't have anything to do with picking the place! (An in home care nurse pulled some strings on Sunday to get him in where ever they had an opening because he was in so much pain) They gave him all of his meds at once when he gets them at different times of the day
( we found this out when we got there!) he was complaining about feeling dizzy & nauseated..NO WONDER.. and they did a TB test and he started bleeding..he's on blood thinners! We went for a visit and all hell broke loose. We are pleased with the new facility..the nurses were caring and compassionate. I told them he hadn't had lunch (it was around 1:30) they came back with a small chef salad within 10 minutes..then of course he said he wasn't hungry..oy vey..

Rick's in Chico most of the day..I have stuff to do in the office..dinner will be White Bean, Kale And Kielbasa Soup

    Thinking of you Tina dear....

Marie, I am really glad they were able to find Rick's Dad a better place! Imagine the other place giving him all his daily pain meds at once!!! HOLY! It is a good thing all hell broke loose when you arrived and found out what was happening in time! GOOD GRIEF! The poor man! Also good to hear at the new place they are caring and compassionate. It sounds like the other place should be shut down! I absolutely hate hearing about places like that! I hope Rick's Dad is doing much better today! Good luck with all your office stuff toady.

    Good Morning!

Tina, you and Olivia are in our thoughts as well. Hopefully there are lots of smiles remembering and celebrating Fred's life today :) :) Hugs!!

I think you should give Sassy Steak Marinade And Sauce a try Janet! You could cut the honey in half if it worries you. That little restaurant sounds great! I would HAVE to get one of the poutines! Never had one, probably the pulled pork one :) Have a good time at the movie!

That chicken recipe looks delish Joce! I'm sure you pics aren't that bad, mine are all dark. I hate this time of year when it gets dark early, I love my natural sunlight pics!

I'm so glad you got Rick's Dad out of that horrible place and into a good one Marie!! How awful! Lol at him not being hungry when they brought him food, go figure :) Yum on your soup!

Not too much going on today. Caiden is just settling in back home. We forgot one of his favorite pillows at my Mom's. It's a ninja turtle neck pillow and he cried last night when he realized we had left it. I told him he was going back to Grandma's in 3 weeks and we would get it then. It's funny how kids can be so different. Briauna never really had a special stuffed animal or pillow or blanket. She just loved what was newest lol. Caiden HAS to have Scout, Brownie (a big brown dog) and his neck pillow, surrounding him every night. Then I have to turn on the star pillow, which shines stars all over his walls and ceiling. Then he is happy and will go to sleep. Lol! Tonight I think I'm going to make this http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Spicy-Mediterranean-Chicken-with-Sausage-Stuffed-Cherry-Peppers/Detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Title&e8=Quick%20Search&event10=1&e7=Recipe%20Search%20Results&soid=sr_results_p1i16 it looks like a neat recipe, I like the idea of the sausage stuffed peppers! Hope everyone has a nice day :)

I agree Tina, what a wonderful memorial table for Fred..we are right there with you dear.remember that..xoxox
I'm also glad we were there Tina, but I'm pretty sure his nurses weren't..I don't tolerate that sort of stuff very well at ..especially where our parents are concerned..thank you for thinking of Rick's dad..you are a lovely lady:)

Michelle, I know, I can't win for losing..I thought for sure his dad would have been hungry:)

Joce, I guess people really need to check out these sort of places..we shouldn't have to..but who knows how our loved ones are being treated! It pays to check in often and visit them and stay in contact with all of his nurses & doctors..I just tried calling to speak to his nurse and of course I'm not on the "list" for cripes sake..Rick has to ok it..which I understand..I'd talk to his dad, but the receptionist said he's already had lots of calls..sigh..Rick's family...sigh..JUST leave him alone so he can get some rest!

Very fitting table you have set up for the memorial, Tina. Excellent to hear everything is paid for, that should take a big weight of your shoulders too!

Marie, You should get Rick to put you on the list. You never know? Like in an instance like today when Rick isn't there and you are. I always tell Den make sure he checks in with nurses etc. if and I am in the hospital. I don't want to be in pain and sometimes if family aren't checking in all the time they will let things slide. When brother was in the hospital before he passed away he couldn't speak for himself and I as a FSW making sure he wasn't in any pain.

Hi Jett:) Cool on the Eagle cam:)

Michelle, Gee I missed your post earlier! Cailey my GD wouldn't go to bed without her bunny and another stuffed animal. Where as Brianna couldn't care less if she had anything with her to go to bed with her. A good thing we are all different though:)

Yes, Marie:) I was right in their face quite a bit at the nursing station.

It has been a busy day - errands all morning - chiropractor appt. this afternoon, followed by two hours at the fire department as required by the elections. Supper was pre-breaded Alaskan cod, and cottage cheese with strawberries. My lower back is tender from the chiropractor treatment, but it is worth every twinge.

    Thinking of you, Tina.

    Have a wonderful rest-of-the-evening, everyone.
