Good Afternoon Everyone! Jim and I had breakfast and then the Service Guy arrived to do the annual maintenance on the Pellet stove and Fireplace. He was here for about a half hour and then the Service Rep from Lazyboy showed up to fix the recliner. A beehive of activity that's for sure.

Another hot humid day out. The weather forecast says it's going to stay this way for at least another week and likely weeks. We haven't even hit the dog days of summer yet. It's nuts. Then the region sent out reports that our ground water is getting low and is advising people not to water their lawns or use sprinklers. Since we're on a well we have to be doubly careful. We've never ran out of water (knock on wood) but there's always a first time. We had invited Dave and Cam and the girls here for three nights next week on their return trip from Southern Ontario, but I sent them a message this morning saying we were going to have to cancel. I'm so disappointed. :( It just isn't pleasant to live in our house at the moment with no air conditioning and I can't even think how I could entertain guests when I don't want to use my stove and the upstairs bedrooms are too warm for sleeping comfortably. Boo. :( On top of that to accommodate four extra people taking showers etc. when the water level is low. Yep, not a good idea.

I think I'm just going to thaw a couple of tenderloins to grill tonight. I have some Blue Cheese butter left and I can make a tossed salad.

So sorry your visit with Michael might be jeopardized Kimmer but we'll all get through this even though it sucks big time! Crossing my fingers for you though that you can forge ahead with your plans. Your dinner last night sounded excellent.

Wishing everyone a good Thursday. Stay cool!

    Good Afternoon all.

Not much going on here. It's too hot to be out and with COVID still running amuck it's just best to lie low which we are.
I finished reading 'Before We Were Yours', another book by Lisa Wingate and loved it too! I passed it up a few times thinking I wouldn't like the subject but the author did a great job creating a story around a horrific real happening.
Bella got a 'manicure' and a brushing this afternoon. Trimmed up the steaks I bought at Costco and got them in the freezer but left one out tonight for DH to have for dinner. I'm going to make turkey chili and will have that over rice tonight myself.
My raccoon (the newer one who I call Sparkler) has been coming out early for dinner which leaves me believing she's got young ones in a nest. She looks healthy and having young to feed usually brings them out early. She showed up yesterday afternoon and again today already. She probably can't go out hunting long enough or far enough away with them to worry about.

Busy morning indeed Janet. Sorry you have to cancel your plans with Dave and Cam and the girls but hoping you can make up for it in the near future. I sure could go for some good Fish-n-Chips and fries. I haven't had a French fry yet this year, LOL!!

They had a report on the news last night Kimmer that cases are up because the tests are bad and giving false positives. I just don't know what to believe anymore because it's something different every day and different from reporting source to reporting source. It would be sad if Michael's visit got canceled because of FL's numbers.

Hi Linda! Good to know you liked the other Lisa Wingate book. I'm sure Bella looks Beautiful! :) Sparkler is a very cute name for a raccoon! That's awful if the tests they are doing are bad. I don't think it's pleasant to get a test so even less so if they don't give an accurate result!!!!

Making Wonton soup for lunch and then we may go for a drive this afternoon.

Finally after over a day the internet has crawled back to its former lackluster self. At least I can get on GR for a bit. So disgusted at our internet provider! It was out totally. They overloaded their capacity and now they insist it isn't anything to do with that.

So sorry your visit with Michael may be zapped by COVID-19, Kimmer. I don't know what to believe either - - the "experts" are contradicting themselves. I recall the Polio scares / epidemic / etc. in the 50's (gee - is that dating me!) We stayed home and played outside, vacations were nowhere near swimming pools (too crowded) or tourist hang-outs, we went to the Smoky Mountains and the like, where fewer people were around.

Too bad your company had to be postponed, Janet. But it is a wise move. Better safe than sorry, for sure. We are on well water also and understand the need to conserve. Without the horses, we don't use near the amount, but still, dry is dry is dry.

Staying home is not too bad for us, Linda. because of living apart from neighbors. We can get outside without someone's kids running over etc. Are you taking precautions? We bought some more masks (finally found some for sale) and I have even sprayed the cotton / paper / disposable ones with Thieves Spray after one wearing so we can use them another time. Even tho the "experts" say not to. Found a black, cloth one in Walgreens, but only ONE, next to kids' size ones. Sparkler sounds so cute. We had one that even brought her babies for me to see!

Ate out at Applebee's today. Tables are spaced out, servers wear masks, etc. It was nice for a change. But we avoided Culton's (far too many cars in the lot) and iHop (same reason).

If you don't hear from me for a bit it is the stupid internet again! LOL!
