Thursday!

Good Morning Everyone! I have just finished making devilled ham and egg salad pinwheels for our lunch. Have carrot sticks and cherry tomatoes, a bit of sausage, some leftover steak and a chicken drumstick too so we won't starve in the car! Apart from that and a quick breakfast that is the extent of what I have to cook today. :)

Benjamin has touched base and is all excited, Jim has checked us in online and printed off our boarding passes and it's pretty much all systems go.

    Wishing everyone a glorious day.

    Good Morning Everyone.

Wow Janet!! The day is here and I bet you both are super excited. What time are you venturing off today and how long is the drive? I wish you safe travels and a fantastic glorious time. Enjoy.

Not much planned for today other than the usual. Will go to the gym this afternoon and I do want to try one more time to go to that plant store, the mysterious one that was right in front of me that I could not find. It may be a huge mistake to go but there are some nice reviews about it on FB (which don't mean anything, it could be the employees or friends). I won't know if it's a mistake unless I actually get there.
No idea yet about dinner. Maybe I'll grill fish and make veggie sides for DH and another salad with lots of stuff in it for me.

Good Morning Linda! We'll head off in about an hour and it's about a five hour drive to Jim's brothers. Thank you so much for the good wishes. :) Why don't you give that plant store a call and ask them where they are? Grilled fish sounds lovely.

Google the Plant Store and it will give you directions, Linda.

    Will be back later.

I know where they are now. We drove right by when we went the first time. Didn't see it because their entrance and sign is not on the road that their address is but of that on a cross/side road (you would think the sign would be on the road on their address). However for a garden center, the outside along the main road, was not attractive or inviting or displayed anything that said "Wow", another reason why we missed it. It was nothing but a bunch of overgrown crappy plants. You would think their landscaping would have been better or at the least better cared for.

    Thanks Joce! :)

Am crossing my fingers for you that the Garden center turns out to be a treasure Linda. :)

    Bye all!

    Have a great flight, Janet!

Good luck on the plant store, Linda.

    Hi Joce!

Picked up the “buggy” with fertilizer for the fields. The guy came to measure doors so they get a second measurement and all is okay. Wayne and his buddy are in the field as we speak. I am hoping they are done in time to go pick up GS so I don’t have to go alone in the truck! Bad enough I have tomorrow also.

The sheets for the bed GS will sleep on Friday are in the washer. I need to sweep the floors and remove some coats we put there for a temporary resting place until the back porch is finished.

It is cool inside....67 F, 63 outside. May have to take off the chill with furnace, although I hate to hike the electric bill. When we got back this morning Fritz was so cold he shivered. He is dozing in his bed beside the heater so I guess he is warmed up.

It has been a busy week, no time to do much except check in on ODD and run. Have a good day.

Hi everyone! Safe travels Janet. I am going to Florida tomorrow to see my mom.
The weather people totally misjudged the Nor’easter and we only got about two inches and it already melted. My sister called for early dismissal at her school because they said it would hit about 3pm. At 11pm last night it wasn’t snowing yet!
Tonight’s dinner is Franks favorite penne pasta in a spicy vodka cream sauce. I got myself some lentil pasta to try. I’ll let you know.

Hi everyone! I'm late to check back in but here nonetheless. :) I'm super sleepy. It's 10:45 and we board at 12:30? I think so I hope I'm still tired by then. We had a good drive to Markham and Jim's brother and family were super great hosts. We'd wanted to treat them to dinner out but then they ended up treating us. They ordered in from a Peruvian Chicken place? It was crazy good. Then our niece drove us to the airport. No lines at this time of night. When we went to check out one suitcase they weighed our carry-ons and they were 8.5 kg. or 9? and they're supposed to only weigh 7 kg. Oops. So they allowed us to put some of our carry-on stuff in our big suitcase which happily went very smoothly. No problemo through security and now here we are at our gate.

That's great Wayne can get on the fields already Karen. Hope you got all your house work done and that Wayne could accompany you to pick up your GS.

Have a good trip Laurie and do let us know how your Mom is doing. How long will you be with her? Glad you didn't get hit with a ton more snow. Lentil pasta? Hmmmm....I actually like lentils and I like pasta, but the two together? Do let us know. :)

There is an older woman coughing up a lung.....sending prayers to the airplane gods that she's sitting no where near us on our flight. :)

It's quite interesting people watching at an airport. They have these very nice computer stations in the waiting areas. Places to plug in your computer and comfy chairs. They are arranged in a group of four and there was a lady sitting across from us. All of a sudden she turns the volume on her laptop up quite high and I presume watching some singing show like "The Voice" or something. Jim and I moved away from her but I would never bother other people by turning my volume up. Surely she could use earphones? Shaking head.
