Thursday`s Trek....

Good Morning Everyone! It`s gray and -5C/23F this morning but it is pretty. We`re getting tons of Charlie Brown Christmas flakes coming down and all the trees are decorated with them.

Jim`s still in bed but at some point we will get up and at `em and make our way to Mississauga. Check In is at 4 I think and we`ll meet up with Jim`s Aunt. His cousin and family from Montreal will be arriving around 7:30. We`re staying at a very nice stone Inn. I`m looking forward to it. Will get to see a ton of family.

I`m going to make sandwiches for us to have in the car instead of having to stop at those roadside fast food joints. Jim will have Egg Salad of course and there`s a pc. of Roast Beef from the Pot Roast the other night that I will use up in my sandwich with mustard and onions. I bought two nice rolls from the grocery store bakery yesterday. Have some fruit and such to bring along as well.

Joce, how did Den make out with his Dr.`s appointment on the 4th? Hope it went well.

On our cruise we are going to Montego Bay, Cozumel & Caymen Islands. Will be gone for 7 days :)

So I got ahold of the place who sells the make up Bri wants and they said they get a shipment in this morning and to come BEFORE they open at 10 to stand in a line that will probably be outside the store of people wanting it. It's first come first serve so I will probably be there at 9:30 after the gym. I'm hoping that's early enough.

Dinner tonight will be crispy pan fried chicken thighs and not too sure on the sides yet. Have a great day!!!

Den's appointment did not go as planned so making appointments for many other things for him and probably he will have a pacemaker put in. My arm and shoulder have been killing me and so far the Physio isn't really helping:(

Great to hear you finally found someone to do the bathroom tile for you, Linda Hope LD's appointment goes well and that you can make an appointment at the hair salon next door as well.

Sound like a lovely cruise to celebrate your Memaw's 80th birthday, Michelle. I bet it is going to be a hoot! What are you thinking of giving her for her special birthday? Good luck getting the special make-up Bri wants. I have to admit I have never heard of it either. I will have to ask my GS' if they have.

Not sure about much at the moment. I had a bad night so I am really foggy.

My vet's office has 4 groomers Janet and the office has it's own grooming section. It's part of the practice and why not … $$$$.
Boo on having to find another doctor. Hope you are able to find someone you like without too much trail and error.

Sorry to hear your shoulder is still hurting Joce and too sorry to hear Den will probably need a pacemaker. I hope the rest of his appointments are better.

The hair place next door is weird. I walked over and it's a bunch of single unit rooms and everyone works independently of each other. Some do just nails, others skincare, others cut hair, etc. Some have a business card on a small shelf outside their door but still you don't know who does what and there is no front desk. I walked around trying to make sense of it and one of the girls stopped to talk with me … she cuts hair starting at $55 a cut. Not sure if I want to pay that much for a simple cut. It's just a weird set up and not at all patron friendly.

That is too cool that your vet has a groomers as well Linda! Glad LD is feeling good :-D. Those single unit rooms you are talking about are all over the place here. Each hair dresser rents out the room per month and basically gets to make up their own rules..no boss :) I have 2 friends that work out of places like that. You have to attract your own customers though, which is probably more difficult.

Went to get the eyeshadow, stood in a line maybe 6 or 7 people back and a worker opened the door and announced they didn't end up getting any in their shipment. BUT he said that the online website had just restocked so I jumped right on there and ordered 2. One for Bri's friend Emma as well. I'm just praying they get here in time as they don't send you a tracking # until it ships from the place.

Decided on pasta with some red sauce I need to use up and broccoli as a side to the chicken :)

Happy you were able to order the eyeshadow kits and hope they arrive in time for Christmas, I would think they would.
Maybe you can get your Memaw a spa treatment of some sort while she is on the ship? Pampering is always a welcomed gift.

Oh dear Joce. Sounds like you and Den are having a rough time of it. Gentle hugs and sending prayers that everything goes really well for both of you. Is Den off work for a bit so he can get to all these appointments? Take good care. Sending a big parade of Sand Men your way.

I haven`t been in too many Vet`s offices in the last few years LInda but I don`t ever remember seeing Grooming being done there. The Hair place does sound different. I ended up paying $48 for my cut yesterday which included a $5 tip. More than I like to pay but if she`s good and I like the salon I might just swallow it.

Gonna go look around for somewhere to eat dinner.

Jim and I shared a Buffalo Chicken PIzza and some Tequila Lime wings. It was good. The restaurant is close enough we were able to walk there and back which was a nice stretch after being in the car all day long.

Ugh on your shoulder, Joce. Wow on Den’s pacemaker. One of the guys in church has one. He does quite well with it.

On the way to Wayne’s doctor appt at the VA we stopped at a wig shop and I ordered a wig for chemo hair loss. The lady was quite pleasant. She did ask about tinting but they can’t tint synthetic wigs and no way do I want a human haair one. The rep from the wig shop suggested a way to accomplish it....hope it works.
