Time to mow Tuesday....

  • chuckieb 6 years ago
Good Morning Everyone! Just finished a Tomato and Cheese Omelette with hot sauce. Deellish! Must have touched my nose though as my skin is burning a little bit. LOLOL.

It's a glorious Tuesday morning here in our Nation's Capital. I'm going to head out to mow some of the lawn this morning and I may even get to spreading some mulch in the front flower gardens.

    Going to make
Italian Chicken Escalopes With Wine And Lemon
    with
    Garlic Parmesan Orzo
and spinach on the side for dinner this evening. Our hamburgers last night were SO yummy. We'll have two more for our lunch today.

If we don't hear from you before hand Linda, our thoughts and good wishes are with you on Friday.

    Wishing everyone a great day.

Good luck mowing, Janet. Better doing it today b/c the next few days are going to get hotter. They are saying 80 F on Thursday YEAH! Your dinner sounds awesome!

Wishing you all the very best on Friday, Linda. Please keep us updated when you can and take care of yourself. HUGS)))

Enjoy your lunch with your friend, Michelle and I hope you get out in your garden. Good for you going to the gym.

I am also going to work in the garden. I need to prune my roses and rake up more things. It seems like an endless task at this time of the year. Going to make English Pasties for dinner.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Have fun at lunch with your girlfriend Michelle! I love girl time. :) What a great menu at the Sushi place! Tickled you're trying the Korean Chicken lettuce wraps. I love them.

Have fun in the garden Joce. I don't have any roses. Jim and I have talked about getting some for years but never had. I have no experience with them. What recipe are you using for the Pasties? Sounds deelish! I think pruning roses also sounds like a very 'English' thing to do so I think you have an English theme going on today! :)

Jim and I have three very, very large dead Ash trees on the property that need to come down. Jim usually is able to take care of such things but these really big plus one is close to the Hydro line and two are close to the house. We called a guy over to give us an estimate this morning and he was pretty reasonable really. $800 for all three. All he is going to do is take them down. Jim can take care of cutting, hauling and such and we'll use them for firewood.

I don't really have a recipe for the Pasties, Janet. I just wing it. We use Ashton Tree Services. Davie is really good and reasonable.

Mowing is a never ending job, isn't it, Janet. It is to be in the 80s (F) today, another warm day in the Ozarks. Agree having professionals cut the trees is a good idea. Esp when they are near the house.

Have fun in the garden, Joce and Michelle. Mine needs plants....ha ha!

Hoping all goes well on Friday, Linda. Is your husband home now? Maybe once he is a secure environment you can get a break. Prayers sent.

Running errands today. Wayne has GS tonight and I will wait for Schwanns. Had burgers last night and GS wanted buttered noodles. I added butter and yogurt, pepper, salt, and garlic powder. GrTed would have been better but he is happy wit / used to powdered, so easier for me.

No idea about supper but I may have pancakes. Lunch tomorrow is leftover noodles and burgers. Daughter will be off at five Wednesday so we will take him home and decide about supper then.

This guy we've hired to take down the ash trees lives very close by. He's just a young man and has been putting his flyers in our mailbox every two weeks or so for the last year or two. We wanted to give him a chance just because he's so diligent at trying to get his business of the ground. Thanks for the recommendation for Ashton Tree Services Joce. These things are always good to know!

Indeed, during half the year, mowing is a regular task Karen. This time of year is nicer than later when it's so hot. Pancakes would be nice for dinner. I have Joce's crepes on my short list to make up as I'm all out of them in the freezer and they make such a nice easy meal yet it looks fancy. :)

I've got the back yard done. My front flower garden is looking quite pretty. I have daffodils and tulips blooming and all the other perennials are shooting up. The Canada Day 150 tulips I purchased are orangish and red, not white and red. A little disappointed but they are pretty anyway.

My flower bed is not doing well. Tulips need redoing and need to replace oregano, lavender, and rosemary. Blaming the heavy rains!

My oregano is doing well. Rosemary doesn't winter outside here, at least for me. :) My lavender is a sorry sight. :( I put about six plants of it up in the rock garden at the front of the property and the majority of it looks pretty dead.

My oregano did great until this year. I will have to replant. Maybe a different location? Basil is hopeless, it must be annual or doesn't like the soil.

Hi everyone. I had a sushi lunch and I am stuffed. It was our interns last day a week ago but we were so busy we couldn't take him out. he graduated from Umass Lowell so we went out today to this place called Maki Maki. It is all you can eat but it isn't a buffet you just keep ordering until you are stuffed. My boss has huge waste issues and told us before that they charge $1 per piece of leftover sushi that isn't eaten. It is on the menu that you may be charged but I have never been charged. We left 2 pieces and he was telling the intern to eat them or they would charge him the next time he came in (since he already paid the bill)

Ugh on the grass cutting. We don't own a mower so we used to pay $35 every other week for someone to cut the grass. then it went to $40 and this year $50!! just to cut the grass and he came out two weeks in a row instead of every other and billed us. Frank said he is going to buy a mower and do it himself next year but he already committed to this guy for this year. But on a positive note he opened the pool so I don't have to look at the ugly pool cover :)

Linda good luck and as the others said keep us posted.

You had a Sushi lunch as well today Laurie! Lucky! A lot of the sushi places around here operate the same way. You just keep ordering whatever you want but so there's no waste they do charge you for anything left not eaten. $35/week doesn't sound bad for lawn cutting at all. If that's all that someone would charge us I'd do it as well but we do have a large area. We just use a push gas mower but perhaps one day when I'm old and rusty we'll think about getting a ride on. That's great Frank opened the pool. I know how much you love it.

Good afternoon and hello to all. It's a dreadful 95F here according to my thermometer with just a bit of a breeze. Our local news channel however says 97F! Sitting out on the porch is a no go right now at least until the sun starts to go down. Even with the fan it's too hot without a good breeze. And on the other side of the house the sun at this time of day is always hitting the pool lanai area so no outdoors for me (or Chloe). My hubs would LOVE the sushi lunches today! Me, not so much. Never been a fan and have tried a couple of times. He and Cayce take off every now and then and have a sushi lunch on a Saturday but there is never anything that I would eat. Speaking of Cayce, he has done graduated! Seems really, really, really weird not to have a child in school anymore. Feeling bittersweet about it all, lol! But still have my grandson as far as attending school events and the such. And don't have to nag anyone about homework anymore! So that is the bright side that I'm focusing on right now.

I unfortunately don't have much time for gardening but hoping one day when I retire........... Used to at least have tomato plants and an herb garden but don't even do that right now.

Tis my glorious cheese night. Last night's soup was deeeeelightful! Really hit the spot. Hubs ate 2 bowls and Cayce had 3! His appetite is back in full force now so no longer worried about him. He will have leftover soup tonight and since I now have bakery bread for my cheese there will be some for him with the soup. Ben is at Disney today with his girl. Took a much deserved day off for a change. So he won't be home until 9ish or so.

Yes, Linda, please know our thoughts are with you and hoping all goes well on Friday. Check in when you can. Gentle hugs for you.

Well off to see what Chloe is up to. A quiet kitten can be a very dangerous thing, lol! Plus it's time for her dinner, which I'm kind of surprised she's not yapping at me about it!

Hope all enjoy the rest of the day.

Oh Kimmer....I know you like heat and sunshine and even you don't care for it toooo hot, but I'd just die in 95F weather. I'll take a cold, snowy winter any day as long as I don't have to face 95F in the summer time. I've experienced that temperature while visiting Benjamin in Taiwan and I find it even makes it hard to breathe. Have you tried vegetable sushi? My fave is sweet potato and avocado with tempura bits on top. Congrats to Cayce and welcome to the next step. YUMMM on Cheese Fondue. Hope Ben has fun at Disney. It'd be awfully hot to be there as well but I suspect because he's young it doesn't bother him.

I got two of the front areas mowed as well and just have to do up at the top of the property. It'll wait 'til another day. Jim stacked firewood and is now turning up the earth in the veggie garden. Yay!
