Tinkering Tuesday

  • LindaLMT 7 years ago
    Good Afternoon Everyone.

Not much going on here today. Just tinkering around the house doing stuff. Picked up my car this morning at the dealership so that's done. Will probably pull out a steak and grill for DH for dinner. Not sure what I want but I do know it will involve a salad. Need to eat more greens.
Hope everyone is having a great day!

Good Morning Linda! Glad you managed to pick up your car. Yum on steak and salad for dinner.

I'm going to do the salmon this evening that we didn't get to last night.

Jim brought our car over to the garage to have the signal light thingy fixed. Didn't take long. The clutch is the next thing. It's about to go as well.

I made a new soup recipe this morning. Lemon, Chicken, Orzo soup. It tastes okay. You add the lemon just before serving so I hope that brightens it up some.

Jim and I may go over to the Tanger Outlet this afternoon as Jim needs a few new clothes. As do I, but I prefer shopping on my own. I might go Friday.

Morning Linda! I'm trying to eat healthier too. Had a salad for lunch yesterday and an avocado stuffed with a mayo free chk salad for lunch today. Yum on steak!!

Went to the gym then had to take Bri an Advil and some cough drops up to her school because her throat is bothering her. Hope she's not coming down with something. I am making homemade pizzas tonight, this crust for Briauna and Michael http://www.grouprecipes.com/110784/and a gluten free one for Caiden and I. Going to make my half Greek style with a little feta, spinach, tomatoes and Greek olives, yum, can't wait! Wishing everyone a fantastic Tuesday :)

Did they ever figure out the electrical system thing with the car Janet? Don't know if you seen my late response to yesterday's post but when/if the time comes for a new car purchase Costco has agreements with many dealers/dealerships so you don't have to haggle pricing down.
I know adding lemon to chicken soup is a popular Greek thing. I tried it a few times but never got use to it. I do though like adding Chinese Five Spice to chicken soup ... instead of the whole pot I just add a few dashes per serving then a squirt of siracha hot sauce. Yum.

Hope Bri is okay Michelle. Yum on homemade pizza. The Greek one sounds yummy.

The electrical system problem was actually a problem with the car door latch and the left turn signal Linda and yes, they fixed that. I did see your post about Costco thanks. Amusing to think of buying a car through them. I did check it out on the Canadian site and it looked like it was only Ford that had vehicles available. After getting 14 years and counting from our VW we are pretty loyal and will likely buy another from them.

Yum on homemade pizza Michelle, one of my favorites! I need to make some no-knead dough and plan some pizza in my future soon.
I too hope Bri isn't coming down with anything. Seems to be that time of year. Maybe it's just allergies bothering her and not something more.

Wasn't sure what car dealers participate ... may be worth a phone call just to make sure. I always forget that Costco offers so much more than just what you see in the store.

    Hi all.

    Hope Brianna feels better.

I haven't tried lemon in chicken soup, it sounds intriguing.

Cars are a royal pain Janet. Mine is 9 years old with about 161500 miles. Bought it when Dodge offered lifetime warranties. What h is why we still have it.

    Funny buying cars thru Costco!

Rotary is over and we have chiro appt next, then to Rolla. GS came along so we don't have to make a second trip.

    Finally got rain. Yay!

Both hub assemblies are bad on daughters car.of. Outset it is a complete unit, can't return replace just one part. Hate to think of the cost.

    See you later.

You're like us then Karen. Our Jetta is 14 years old and has 400,000 km. on it which is 248,548 miles. Hurray for rain. I'll cross my fingers for a low car bill for your DD.

Good afternoon all. That's great that you have your car back, Linda. I dislike driving someone else's vehicle. We tend to eat a lot of salads.

Just okay, Janet? They have some great deals at the Tanger Outlet. I buy my Nike's there. Yum, salmon, I could eat it several times a week but it's getting quite expensive. I like shopping with Joe, he holds everything and is the most patient person ever. Shopping for groceries is very different, he wants to rush and get out of there.
I was thinking of making pizza tomorrow, Michelle. I sure hope that Bri doesn't come down with something. I've never had Greek style but it sounds good. Ohhhh, Greek chicken would be nice on that.
Car repairs can get expensive quickly, Karen. I hope that it isn't too expensive. Wow on the milage. I guess that I don't drive much as my car is 8 years old and it has just under 25,000 miles. Your living in the country would put a fair amount of milage on I suppose.
Dinner will be a salad and Spaetzle For One Or Two. I made a roast beef recipe from another site on Sunday and it was like shoe leather so today I sliced it thinly and added it to the gravy with a little red wine to break down the fibres, it's simmering away.

I added the lemon juice to the soup just before serving and it did help and I did like the lemon in it, but the soup wasn't all "AWESOME, GOTTA MAKE AGAIN" quality . :) Your spaetzle looks yummy Bren. Oh dear on the roast beef shoe leather. The gravy will help.

I made a little trip to the Dollar store. Found a bunch of fun decorations, crafts and such for Easter. We're having relatives visit over Easter weekend.

Chatted with my niece who is getting married near the family cottage in Oct. this afternoon. I researched for places to stay in the area for out of town guests. Found a cute Inn with decent rates.

Hello all. Have to say, I'm not a huge salmon fan. Just kind of, it's ok, like it. I do like the salmon patties that I make. My grammie made those and I grew up eating them. She would always have all the family over when she made them so it's a nice memory. Cayce absolutely loves salmon so sometimes my husband and he will have it. Sorry the soup didn't impress you that much Janet. My son Michael had a Jetta when he was on base in Arizona and really liked it. Course now he has a huge truck. But he bought the Jetta shortly after being stationed there and got a great deal on it. Was perfect for bopping around town. Now he lives in snow country so, ya mom, I gotta have a truck........a big one, lol! I prefer to clothes shop alone myself. If hubs is with me and I try something on he's always like, come out when you have it on and let me see. No, dear, not doing that. I'm a low profile kind of girl I guess, lol.

Tis Tuesday and my cheese night so looking forward, as usual, to that. Making the boys some little cheeseburger sliders that they like and some oven fries. Quick and satisfying meal for them.

Enjoy the evening all and of course...........Sleep Sweet.............as always..........

Set a place for me please Kimmer. I'll splurge and have a cheeseburger slider on the side as well. :)

Saw the cutest idea for an Easter cocktail/dessert. Buy some mini hollow Easter bunnies, Carefully break off the ears and then fill the hollow with some Bailey's Irish cream. Wouldn't that be cute? And yummy! :)

Janet and Bren, we have 2 pickups (159xxx and 57xxx miles) and my car. We both worked until I retired three years ago....I put 25 miles a day, he put between 80 and 150 depending on how much driving he had to do....sometimes he was Behind the wheel most of the day. Not to mention 200 miles Sunday and trips to Illinois and Ohio.

Spastzle is yummy for sure! Wayne loves it. Boo on the show leather beef. I never thought of adding red wine to tenderize it.

Cool on your niece getting married, Janet.

We picked up ring, ordered Wayne's band, and my band that matches the ring. It is pretty and the blue diamond looks so nice. Will upload a pix of it whenever my internet behaves.

Their travel rings didn't fit my finger -- too big or too small. No rush. Before we take the RV off we will find some.

GS has swimming and a private lesson afterward. I made him eat a snack because he doesn't eat and then comes down with a migraine or feels sick. Wish we could trigger his appetite, he is in 40th percentile for his age.

    Have a nice evening!

    SP Kimmer.

We also have 4 wheel drive pickups because of the terrain and weather here. Several years our car sat for months bec of bad roads and the pickup was the only vehicles for we could get out with.

Hi everyone, I don't usually take Frank shopping either. Yesterday when I got home from work I said I was taking a ride to a running store for sneakers. Shocked when hubby said he would tag along. He brought me luck because the pair I found were less expensive than my previous ones lol.
I hear you on the car repairs. Becca has a 2001 Honda Civic. She had a little ding on the windshield and that turned into a little crack. Last weeks blizzard the weight of the snow made the crack expand across. Her friends dad works for an auto glass repair company and he fixed it for $100. He told her he gave her the family discount I thought that was very nice of him. Frank and I have never met him.
We tried the spinach and ricotta ravioli from Trader Joe's tonight. Very yummy but the serving, size was off. They come in a bag that says about 3 servings. I got two bags for the three of us and we barely had enough.
