Bad title but it is a bit after 6 A.M. and I am still not awake. Coffee is coming.

The water bed had come unplugged so we tried the futon while it reheated. Not super comfortable but it is okay for occasional use.

We are going to look for carpet for the bedroom alter this afternoon after Wayne's appt. at the chiropractor. Probably grab some stain resistant brand at Lowe's but he wants to check out the carpet outlet stores. He has a Dr. appt. this morning for routine lab tests, followed by errands so I will have the day to myself. That is if Mauser decides to vacate my lap - she is extra calm this morning and practicing for lap cat status.

Had another thundershower last night...over an inch of rain in the past 24 hours. More is expected today and tomorrow, but so far nothing severe.

I bought some pickled garlic at the Choctaw Nation rest area in Oklahoma. The state turned them over to the Choctaw Nation, and they have some really nice "stuff". Have no idea what to do with it but any suggestions are appreciated. It looks interesting!

Photo is of the 1970 Firebird Formula 400 that Wayne is having restored as a classic car. It was our first new car. He is quite proud of it.

Good morning Karen..we're up here as well.it's 5:48am , you are 2 hours ahead of us if I'm not mistaken:) I'm just getting an GD order ready, hopefully they will have a delivery this Friday..otherwise we will be going to Sac..UGH

I showed Rick the pic of your Firebird, he had one the same color, but his was a 1973 and had a black top..it was quite quick from what he said..probably not as quick as my 1968 Corvette with a 427 though, especially since I know for a fact I'm a better "driver" than he is .hahaha Ahhhh, the days of our youth...That is a beautiful car you have, how cool you are going to restore it!

    Anyhoo, glad you are home!!!!

I need to get back to work and get this order in, I'll be helping Rick today prep an opening on an old garage so it will be ready to go once we get the door..

    Dinner? I don't have a clue:)

    I need more coffee!

    Hi to everyone:)

I am still in my jammies and Mauser is curled up beside me. I believe she is settling in for a nice long nap. Silly delusional kitty - I really have to get up and get moving. She is reaching up to tap my hand as I type and generally making a nuisance of herself.

We bought the car in 1970, traded it in after we had a baby, then located in and bought it back a couple of years later! Silly to have traded it in in the first place. It is still being restored, there are a few gliches to iron out, and the mechanic really wants to buy it. It is not for sale at any price. Well, I would encourage the thought of selling it for an exorbitant price, but .................

Have another cup of coffee and enjoy your day.

I LOVE the thread title Karen! Water beds do feel rather clammy when the heater isn't on don't they! :) Jim and I used to buy pickled garlic cloves when we were in California. Gilroy was close by and is well known for its Garlic crop. We just used to eat them as part of an appy tray. Nice pic of the Firebird.
Nice on the '68 Corvette Marie! That'd be a fun drive! Good luck with the GD job. We should really think of an actual recipe and call it "I don't have a clue" just for fun. :) LOL!
Haven't had a chance to read back yet but I will. We are in Whitby, Ont. at the moment. Not far from Toronto. Heading to Rice Lake this afternoon to check out a Church there that Jim's Great-Grandfather was a Minister at. It's located on the Hiawatha Reserve. Supposedly his picture still hangs in the Church.
We were out for dinner last night in Ajax with Jim's cousin and lunch yesterday with my Mom's cousin in Uxbridge. Jim and I shared two appys. The highlight was an order of "Kimchi Fries". Oh my goodness! Top shelf! We also shared a Mushroom tart with Blue cheese and a sunny side up egg. I found the Blue cheese just a tad overpowering for the mushrooms.
Had a lovely weekend on the shores of Lake Huron staying with Jim's Aunt and Uncle. They have a gorgeous cottage with small bunkies for guest rooms outside. Highlight was going to sleep with the sound of the waves crashing on shore and waking up in the morning to the scent of lavender drifting in the windows. Jim's Aunt is an amazing gardener.

The Black Bear Diner where you took your Mom for her birthday looked great Marie. What a great menu! I would have gone with the Fried chicken but was also drooling over the Ribs, deep fried shrimp and kielbasa (Bear's Triple Play) :) I'd be so scared with all those fires! Ugh.
Oh my goodness Laurie at waking up at 4:30 two days a week to go running. All the power to you my friend. I just don't think I have that in me. :) How did it go with your interview yesterday?
Sounds like you had a good time on your trip Karen! That'd be very fun if you went to Anaheim next year! That breakfast you had on your way home sounded excellent as did the steak tip dinner!
Wow on making your own Hot Sauce Michelle. I think that's super cool. LOL @ you going stir crazy without the kids! :) Those pork chops you stuffed yesterday sounded awesome! Yum!
Benjamin got in with the School he was really hoping to. He received one job offer Fri. night and a second (the one he really wanted) Sat. morning. He's super pumped and we're super proud of him. His new school is called "American Eagle". LOL!
Hope the new dose of pain meds will really help you Joce! Sorry your stomach is giving you grief. :(
How's Liv making out in South Bend Tina? Are you still doing lots of research on a new home? Yum on your Curried Cod on Sunday.

Olivia will be home on Thursday. Her highlight is going to the Notre Dame book store.
They went to the fair yesterday and saw all the animals.

I need to read back on the posts, my vision has been awful. Househunting tires me out.

Good Afternoon! Good luck on carpet shopping Karen. Enjoy your alone time, besides those kitties :) I think the pickled garlic would be great sliced up on salads...or just pop them in your mouth by themselves, I just love pickled garlic :) Neat on Wayne's Firebird! My mom used to race cars in her 20's. I'll have to ask her which kind!

Hi Marie! Work, work, work eh? Hope you don't have to go to Sac...crossing fingers!

Cool at the church and Jims GG Grandfather's picture still being hung up there! Oh wow have never heard of kimchi fries, sounds so delicious! Love your description of the cottage and the waves and the smells. I bet you were in heaven :) That's great on Benjamin getting a new job!

Glad Olivia ended up having a good time Tina..I knew she would.

We are at the beach right now in Galveston. Its super hot but nice and windy, plus we have a huge canopy thing we brought and set up for shade. Michael an I are just relaxing as the kiddos play in the sand. It's really nice out here. Dinner tonight is homemade pizza. The dough is already made up so all I have to do is roll it out and add toppings.. Wishing everyone a great day!

Glad Olivia is enjoying herself, Tina. I loved to go to county fairs, esp. when there were animals.

Lavender is one of my favorite herbs, Janet. I am trying to grow some but it is not always easy! Hope to have a garden next spring and it will be one of the first plants in! The cottage sounds lovely!

Wayne would envy your time on the beach, Michelle. I am not so much a beach person but would hide under the canopy! Cool on your mom racing cars!

I have to get moving and do some work - Wayne should pick me up in an hour or so for carpet shopping. See you later.

    Hello all
Interview went ok. She said they would let me know. I hate the waiting game. I had another interview today. The job is near me but the company doing the hiring is in Boston. I had to drive into Boston. My least favorite thing. I got there an hour early lol. I called the woman I was meeting and she saw me early. I would of wandered around town but it was 97 degrees and as soon as I stepped out of the parking garage it started thundering lightening and was going to pour. This interview went rally well but they wanted me to do a computer skills test they emailed me and I had to update the software on my computer to do it which is taking forever so I will have to do it tomorrow afternoon.
Last week I got up three times and ran at 4:30. It's a struggle but I feel better after I do it!
