Forgive the uninspired title, but my mind doesn't function at this hour of the morning. Ha ha.

We drove to Illinois Sunday and picked up Wayne's sister. Drove back yesterday - a long trip! Took her to Crow Creek for supper. Their roast beef open face sandwich was so-o-o-o good.

Today he will take her to Rotary and run a few errands. She wants to stop by WalMart so he can use that excuse to pick up a loaf of bread, we are OUT. I have some stuff to work on here, and it is good for them to have some time alone, so I'm staying. We have to get the RV set up for an overnight campout so she can experience the fun! I think I can tolerate one night -- ha ha ha. Fritz is going with us. He did well at the kennel even tho he only munched at his food. I told her he would not starve. He drank the water, so I don't have to bring any from home. Crazy dog doesn't like strange water.

I am in the sun room, wide awake, the rest of the house is still asleep.

Read through the last couple of days posts. Congrats on the engagement, Kimmer.

Glad you survived the kiddos, Janet. Yes, diaper changing should be in another room and yes, that age is appropriate for baby sitters. I would have freaked if a two year old was allowed to finger the food others were going to eat.....a light tap on the hand and a "no" from parents would have been appropriate.

We plan on taking his sister to Bow and Barrel to shoot at the range. She will grump but then will shoot, probably only a few rounds but hey, she will tell her buddies about the experience when she returns and we do try to give her some unusual experiences. Not sure where we are going with the RV, somewhere she can enjo the scenery.

Have to go check the living room. Something just made a big flash and I'm not sure what. Why do things always happen when I am the only one awake? Ha ha. Probably the cats knocked a flashlight down? See your later.

Yes, the kitties knocked down an LED stick-on light we bought for the RV hallway, and it was laying on the floor, lit up nicely! LOL!

    Good Morning Everyone!

How long is the drive to Illinois Karen? Glad to hear you went and came back without incidence. How long will your DH's sister stay with you before returning and do you then drive her back? My goodness I have a lot of questions ... I bet you are still tired from the trip though. It's great to hear Fritz is able to go with you when you go camping. When we travel we take LD, he can be a PIA but I love him. LD will go on hunger strikes and not eat his food because he's "unsettled", he'll eat eventually though. Boarding him though is just not an option and I don't have anyone I can leave him with or trust to stay at our house so we pack him up and bring him.

Oh no on your cable being cut Janet! Hope it gets fixed right away. How the heck did your DH manage that?

It's a bit overcast here this morning and looks like we may get some rain. I kinda hope we do because it's getting a little dry. The plants here love moisture.
We have Kenpo this afternoon and then need to run an errand and then will get something to eat out. Just another "usual" day here.
Taurid Fireballs are visible in the night sky thru the 28th. It's not a major meteor shower but it is a bright one.

Enjoy your time with you SIL, Karen. You should have fun on your first RV trip and it is good Fritz is going with you. I totally agree on the diaper changing it should most definitely be done in another room! Lol kitties are always up to something:) I am glad it didn't break!
Very BIG CONGRATS to you daughter on her engagement and what a wonderful story. They were meant to be together:)
Have fun at Kenpo and good luck with your errands, Linda. Very cool on the Taurid Fireballs! That would be neat to watch.
I hope your internet and TV do get up and running today, Janet.
How is Colter feeling today, Shona?
How did the rummage sale go Michelle? I noticed on FB you had a very busy weekend with ball games as well.
Den went back to work this morning and we also had a heavy frost last night so I know he had to scrape it off his windows before driving to work. I have errands to do this afternoon and we are having pork chops for dinner tonight. Nothing else is very exciting around here Lol:)

Good Morning everyone! MY INTERNET IS BACK, MY INTERNET IS BACK!!! WHOOP! :) LOL. SO relieved. I hate being offline.

Enjoy your visit with your SIL Karen. That's good that Fritz made out okay at the kennel.

Bren, if you still are thinking about putting in some Canada 150 Tulips bulbs, your closest Home Hardware should have them. They're selling like hot cakes. I covered mine with screening and big rocks, which I'll have to remove come spring time, but it'll stop the squirrels from feasting on them til then. :) I don't blame you for hiring people to do the tiling and the cupboards. Jim and I did the same.

We caught the mouse yesterday. And I'm hoping it was 'the' mouse and not just 'a' mouse with buddies. Have left my peanuts and seeds out in the garage and the traps set for a few more days to make sure.

Linda, how is LD's muffins working out? Still waking up early? Oh dear that he will go on hunger strikes. :( Both the TV cable and the Satellite cable are strung up in the trees beside the house and run out to a post that has a clear sight line. Jim wanted to make it look 'neater' so he was fastening some of the cable to trees and then also clearing dead branches around the cables, because of course, if they fall they'll take out the cables. So....in the process of cutting off these dead branches his chainsaw actually nicked the Satellite cable. He didn't even know he'd done it. I was online and the internet went down. I peeked outside and saw him in the woods with the chainsaw and then yelled out to him. "I didn't touch the wires" he said very earnestly. But then of course when he went and took a closer look, he saw that indeed he had, and there were even some little sparks happening. Shaking head. Ah well....we're back in business now. That's super cool about the Taurid Meteors. We were overcast that night that the big ones were supposed to show themselves so I'll cross my fingers it's clear this evening.

    How's Colter today Shona?

Kimmer, I'm envious of your crab fest the other day.

    Michelle????

    Tina, Marie, Laurie!!!!!!!!

Yikes on the heavy frost Joce. I don't think we got that here. Good luck with your errands. Yum on pork chops. What cut of pork chops do you buy? Both Jim and I remember nice little ones with a t? shaped bone when we were kids, but the porkchops now seem to be cut differently and they're either boneless or huge.

I'm hungry. Not allowed to eat or drink a thing 'til after my surgery. And then only soft stuff. I bought myself a Kimchi flavoured Ramen noodle soup bowl for my dinner. Super high in sodium but I love them. Guilty pleasure.

I am SO GLAD your internet is up and running again, Janet and also about getting the mouse! In answer to your question, we buy the type of pork chops you had when you were a kid. We learned about them when we were having dinner at my SIL's house. Her HB used to be a butcher and we had them for dinner when we were there. Of course, we had to ask what kind of cut they were as they were so good. They are pork loin rib chops and we buy the whole loin which is cut up almost like sliced bread or it looks like that anyways. When we get them home we package them up individually and put them in the freezer. We get around 18 pork chops from one pork loin and it is also cheaper that way. They get smaller at the ends. We buy them at The Garden Market in Smith's Falls sometimes they are huge as you say. I guess it is b/c of the size of the pig? You might want to ask your local butcher shop for them.

Congrats on getting your internet cable back Janet. What ever did we do years ago when we didn't have it? Your DH is lucky he didn't get a shock!
I hope your mouse was "the" mouse too. But it's that time of year.
Good luck with your surgery ... let us know how you are feeling later.

LD is NOT liking his muffins. He'll eat some but half of what I give him winds up and stays on the floor. I now make sure he eats his dinner a little later so his belly stays fuller longer. I'll have to try and make another "recipe", something moisture, I'm thinking something like those energy balls made with peanut butter but more appropriate for his diet. LD is worse than a kid and you would think because he's a dog he would eat anything ... Nope!

Yikes on the heavy frost last night Joce. Are you all prepared for winter coming? Pork chops sound great. Think I'll have them tomorrow night for dinner.

Speaking of diaper changing we had a big incident here several months ago when a mom was asked to take her baby to the restroom because she was changing her baby in the dining room, of a pizza type place, on the table. When she wouldn't she was then asked to leave the restaurant and made a big scene, called the news, etc. She didn't gain much sympathy with the public. I have the same feelings about moms who breast feed in very public areas with everything hanging out, showing no discretion, and then cry "foul" when something is said to them.

Thanks Joce! I will go look for that cut because it makes a big difference in taste!

Thanks Linda! Oh dear that LD isn't liking the muffins. Doggie energy balls. I'd have never thought of it. :) They sound yummy actually. :) Goodness on the woman changing her baby on a table in a restaurant. Like COME ON PEOPLE!!!!!

LOLOL Joce @ it only being two months 'til Christmas. One of my girlfriends emailed me yesterday saying that it was almost time to start Christmas baking.LOL.

Linda, those little dog treats are so cute. I pinned the recipe. Might be cute to give to my girlfriend's dog for Christmas.

Ugh on woman in the restaurant. I agree she was way off base! When we were MUCH younger and his sister's oldest was having bowel issues she was so proud he had a bm that she toted the dirty diaper past us while eating dinner to show everyone! Yucky!
And I agree breast feeding may be normal but please, they should respect others' desire not to have to watch.....it is OK visiting relatives who understand but not in public in a nice restaurant when people may want to have a nice meal without seeing / listening etc.

Glad your internet is working again Janet.....LOL on the chain saw nicking the cable. Wayne sliced it once with a riding mower!

We are having "Mary Ann's Scrumtious Lasagna" tonight. (Using iPad so forgive the typed in title.)

Speaking of mice.....try sprinkling whole cloves where they get inside. Better than peppermint! Or we can loan out Fritz...he is a great mouser!

Hi all! I best go change out laundry, am trying to neatify and get ready for the camping!

Ack!! Wrote this up earlier this morning and forgot to post it!!

Morning!! I’m always uninspired with the title Karen, so many time I just get stumped and let someone else do it lol :) I have been meaning to upload all the pictures from my cell phone onto my computer so I can at least have some pictures to attach if I do start a thread. Glad to hear Wayne’s Sister is all settled in, it’s great that they get a little alone time today as well as you :) Hope she enjoys the shooting range! Michael has been wanting to go, but wants me to go shooting with him. Not happening. I used to LOVE shooting, but I think my hearing has gotten too sensitive or something. Last couple of times I went it was so loud, even with the headphones on, that I cannot even concentrate and it makes me nervous and my head rattle. I told him to take a friend lol.

After coming back from taking Caiden to the bus stop there were two large (stray?) dogs tramping around my front yard. I was scared to get out of my truck because one, that looked like a pitbull, or at least a mix of one, came up to my drivers side door. The other was some big furry fat thing. Just then my neighbor opened her screen door with her 3 year old in hand to leave which made the dogs run up to her. The dogs ran to her porch and she slammed her door closed. I yelled at her to stay inside, all the time the pitbull growling. My neighbor across the street yelled that she was calling Animal Control, so I high tailed it inside. About 20 minutes later she called me and said that Animal Control was not open yet so she called the police and they said they would try and take care of it. PPPFFF...I doubt it! I will definitely be calling AC back if I see the dogs again.

This week at school is red ribbon week, so each day is something different for the kids to dress up to. For Caiden the them for today was “Don’t get mixed up in drugs” and they were supposed to wear mis-matched clothes. He looked pretty mis-matched with 2 different long socks, basketball shorts, a nice button up plaid short sleeve shirt with a striped long sleeve under it :)
For Bri it was twin day (not sure what the saying was) so her and Emma wore their Lady Bandit’s practice shirt with suspenders, pigtails and matching long socks pulled up over their jeans :P Tomorroy is throw back Wednesday, so they are supposed to dress in 70’s, 80’s or 90’s clothes, and I have no idea what she is going to wear, that I don’t have to go out and buy. I may check Goodwill.

I pulled out some Cod pieces that I had from Trader Joe’s for dinner. I think I want to try something that I’ve never made before, fish stew. http://www.food.com/recipe/brazilian-fish-coconut-milk-stew-low-carb-265958
Will probably served some rice so if Michael feels he needs more substantial food he can pour the soup over it lol :) May make some homemade bread as well!!! Have a great day everyone!!

    Hi Michelle!

    Fun on the school costumes!

We are having lasagna tonight as I posted earlier. Need to do a coffee cake and / or egg dish for breakfast tomorrow. We had frozen waffles today .... not one of my more inspired days. Will try to get chicken strips from Schwanns for tomorrow, maybe fix a rice fish (you inspired me ?) to go with or a veggie. Or ???? Sandwiches for lunch!

Hip is hurting so I am ticked at myself for it acting up....Wayne is picking up some stuff to see if it helps and next week I see the chiropractor again. Growing old is not for sissies. Ha!

Cats went out and I heard growling. Geezer was there again...Mel had his hackles up and tail puffed, A.C. was in stalk mode. Trouble was not sure what they were doing. Geezer left as I grabbed cats and tossed them inside. They are now out again and except for Mel, who sneaked into the bedroom. Fritz is asleep. Mauser just jumped on to my lap....poor baby will be unceremoniously dumped when I get up to finish laundry.

Washer just beeped. Time to switch.

Crossing fingers you get rain Linda!! Neat on the meteor shower :) That is just disgusting changing a baby on a restaurant table! >:-(

The rummage sale went ok Joce, but not as good as we had hoped. I kind of had a feeling it wouldn’t since it was inside a meeting room at a bank and we only had a few measly posters up to advertise. The girls were not allowed to stand outside and hold the posters as the bank was open, so I just don’t think it was appealing to a lot of people : Good thing is we are having another rummage sale but this time at someone’s house and outdoors, so it should go over much better! Also I am having my own garage sale in a few weekends to try and pay some towards my part of the trip :) Yes it was a VERY busy weekend, I was pooped and in bed by 9 every night. Enjoy your pork chops, yum!!

Yay on your internet Janet! The things we take for granted huh? Glad you caught the mouse, don’t tell Bri that though, she thinks all rats and mice are sweet, no matter how much I tell her otherwise lol. Good luck today at your surgery!

I ended up at Good will and found some things I think will work for a 50’s chick :) I got her some bright yellow Keds, a black and white plaid collared shirt she can tuck in with a bright yellow belt, and she can wear skinny jeans that she can roll up, and a thin sheer scarf kind of tied around her neck. Also a bandana around her head. See where I’m goin with this?? Hopefully I’ve gotten it at least a little right lol :) Got some French bread rising, hope it turns out as I was unsure of my yeast :\

Fresh baked bread is sounding really good! I have my eye on this one and want to try it soon as I have some cream cheese in the fridge that wants to be used on something toasted. http://www.food.com/recipe/steel-cut-oat-bread-345794

Pit Bulls have such a bad reputation and even though not every pit bull is a bad dog you're very smart to not even chance it Michelle. There bite is so powerful. I would have stayed in my car too.
Sounds like a fun week at school for the kids!

Lasagna sounds wonderful Karen. I could probably eat that! Just got home from having my tooth out and I'm allowed soft but not extremely hot food. Just ate some Kraft dinner and it hit the spot. I would totally take you up on borrowing Fritz for a few days to make sure we have the mouse problem under control! Mind you, he'd also be quite keen to chase my squirrels wouldn't he. :)

Don't fret y'all (LOLOLOLOL) on the thread title. It can be whatever you want it to be and it doesn't have to rhyme or be foodie related or start with the same letter of the day. I looked way back and sometimes they were going with the month and the day, eg. 10/25 Monday, 10/26 Tuesday, etc. It is not at all a biggie, what's a biggie is getting to hear from everyone how their day is going.

Hi Michelle! So good to see you! You've been MIA for a little bit and I was quite interested to hear how you made out with the Rummage sale. That's un-nerving about the dogs, especially if they were growling! Red Ribbon Week sounds fun for the kids but I agree that "70's, 80's and 90's Clothes" is a bit tough. Here's a website I saw that might help.
    http://www.thepeoplehistory.com/1970skidsfashion.html
Let me know what you think of that Brazilian fish stew. I like the look of it although I'm surprised it doesn't turn a redder colour with that many tomatoes in it and I'd also be a little worried that it's not going to have enough flavour. I might add a bit of curry paste or something. Anyway...let us know how it works out for you. Sorry to hear the rummage sale didn't go as well as you'd hoped but it's good you're doing another one as well as a garage sale of your own. Nice on the french bread.

Slight change in plans. Daughter has to work Thursday and Friday. (hurray! Finally!) so we have to look after GS and take him swimming. Ay yi Yi! So no camping! We will have to do something else! This is the first time she has been back to work since her surgery so we felt it would be better to reschedule and get her back to work.

    Lasagna is in the oven.

Pit bulls can be either very friendly or very mean. Any dog that is growling is best left alone, I agree completely. A friend had three pits. Two are adorable. He had to put the third one down due to its attitude.

Hi to everyone. Must go check dinner. See you later.

Great that your daughter is heading back to work Karen but disappointing you have to cancel your camping trip. You didn't answer Linda's questions re: how long a trip it is for you from your place to Illinois to pick up your SIL. Could you bring her home in the RV and take a stay somewhere along the way?
