Wash The Truck Wednesday

  • mommyluvs2cook 7 years ago
Morning! Yup, washing the truck later today lol! First I need to get to the gym then run by the pet store to get Bri some more bedding for her rats. She's completely out and she has 2 friends coming over after school so they can work on a project and their litter box is stinking up her room :\

Last night I got Caiden all signed up for Cub Scouts, it was actually a meeting, I thought it was registration, so that was a surprise.Don't have dinner planned yet, still early! No activities tonight either, yay! Hope everyone has a wonderful day :)

Pic. of Bri mid pitch, one of the Mom's caught it. You can even see the yellow softball still in the pic. It's fast pitch, so wind up underarm pitching.

Good Morning Michelle! Nice action shot of Bri! :) Has she ever watched the movie "A League of their own" with Geena Davis from 1992? If not, she might enjoy that. :) Good Luck washing the truck. So cute Caiden signing up for Cubs. Benjamin loved Cubs.

I have just finished my first cup of coffee. I have no clue what's on the agenda for today, nor do I know what to make for dinner.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Good Morning Everyone! Nice picture of Bri Michelle! Thanks for sharing it here.

How are the rats? Has the new group been introduced to the others? Good for Caiden joining scouts. Hope he enjoys it. Some of the best memories from my childhood were from scouts. We had awesome troop leaders and did so much.

I too just had my first cup of coffee Janet but I stop after one because 2 is just too much caffeine for me even though it's half decaf but I sure would love another.

Will make a pot of turkey chili for lunch but not sure yet what to make for dinner.
DH found a really interesting article yesterday about "Pemmican". I'm going to read a little more about it then try making it. I don't know why I want to make it, I just do. I guess it's more out of being curious.

Need to run to the grocery store today for a few items but that's about it here.

Morning all. What a sweet pic!! We had hamsters so I get the stinky cabe, you really have to keep on top of it or goes south quickly. Good luck with the truck.
I vaguely remember that movie Janet.
I'm thinking of Joce's pork tenderloin for dinner. I've picked up the turkey bacon, just have to find the recipe. Not much new here.

    Have a great day everyone!!

Morning Janet!! No neither one of us had seen the movie and even though I've heard of it, never thought to watch it with her! Maybe I will see if we have time tonight since we are free, the only night until Sunday evening, I think she will love it :)

I have some Italian sausage I picked up from the meat market last week in the freezer. I love trying different places version on Italian sausage. I hate the grocery stores version, but LOVE the one's they make at the FM. So hopefully this one will be good from the meat market. Off to search recipes while I down my first cup of coffee.

Whoops, SP!! Yes Linda, the rats are all happy in one cage finally! And you know what, they are doing better all together than they ever did separated. So next time we have to do this I think we will only keep them apart long enough to make sure they aren't sick, then introduce them a little quicker instead of dragging it on. Oreo and pudding fought constantly when their cage was moved out into the hallway to be separated from the new one's. Lol, that "Pemmican" sounds interesting, something Michael would probably want to try out. We have all kind of survival books and what plants are safe to eat, and weird little mini survival kits all over the place haha, I think he obsessed over it at some point in his life :P

Yup, it gets stinky Bren. We mainly only use baby blankets in the cage but they do have a littler box with bedding in it, and are potty trained to use it, which is nice. But with four rats, it's stinks up in a couple days and must be changed at least every 3 days. The blankets get change out after about a week and a half because they really just lay on those. Yum on the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin, I really have to try that one :)

    Good morning.

Hi Michelle, Janet, Bren, and Linda.

Pemican (sp.) sounds intriguing. It is supposed to be a great survival food. The way the world is going these days, it is probably a good thing to know how to make. Wayne is growling because he didn't have time to wash his red truck, but since we are not going to be able to pick up the RV until Monday he still has a few days. I read all the the horror stories about problem RVs so will have to divest my mind of negative thoughts and look forward in a more optimistic view.

He and Fritz are going outside to do chores. I have a few minutes before need to get moving. It is lawn mowing day and we need to finish before it is too hot, 90 F temps. expected today.

We have to decide when to bring his sister down for a week. She will survive one RV trek, I'm sure. Maybe to Bentonville Ark. again, since we know the area better now.

Geezer has arrived at the front porch (late for him) so I guess I better round up some cat food for him. A.C. will have to stay inside a bit longer since he is mean to Geezer.

    Have a great day.

Yum on turkey chili Linda! I was just thinking how much I was looking forward to making some fall food and chili is on that list. Very interesting on the pemmican. I've heard about it before but for some reason I was thinking it's a bread. Obviously it's not. Interesting project.

Here's the link for Joce's tenderloin recipe Bren incase you haven't located it yet. :)
    Old Fashion Stuffed Pork Tenderloin

Yum on your Italian sausages Michelle. Hope they're yummy.

Good luck with the lawn mowing Karen. I'd think that'd be fun for your SIL to go on an RV trip with you.

Ended up going into town and got McDonald's for breakfast. Then to Costco. Got some nummy tasting perogies that they were featuring, three chickens (an extra $5 off a the cash), big pkg. of lean hamburg and then a nice sized pkg. of wild haddock. Re-packaged it when I got home and got four meals out of the hamburg and five out of the haddock, so that's awesome.

So...going to make pan-fried haddock for dinner with spinach and maybe something else. It's turned out to be a really gorgeous day. Jim is out fixing some rust spots on the Jetta. We've almost got $400,000 km. (almost 250,000 miles)on it. He's hoping to coax another couple of years out of it and it still looks pretty good.

    Hello again.

Haddock and spinach sounds wonderful, Janet. I did buy some cod from Schwanns, and have some fresh spinach, so I will inflict in on Wayne some of these nights. He doesn't care for fish or spinach, but will eat it once in a while. Unless it comes with sauerkraut in which case he refuses to even taste it. Sigh.

Mowing is done. I did the front and side yards and part of the barnyard with the ZERO TURN mower, my first time mowing with it. It is really a cool mower! It takes practice to gauge distance and overhead, and takes a lot of paying attention, when one is as mechanically challenged as I am. But I am beginning to like using it and getting more comfortable operating it. Took a shower to remove the grime and grit and it feels so good.

Picked two huge peppers from the garden. It looks like tomatoes and peppers are finally taking off. I'm thinking venison based spaghetti tonight, with a "good" sauce -- onions, peppers, tomatoes, maybe some home canned sauce to thicken it, simmered long and slow. We both need to eat more veggies and less pasta, so maybe the home grown veggies can ease the guilt feelings if I only fix minimal amount of the pasta. LOL.

Looking over recipes for RV-ing. Our first trip would only be a couple of days, not far from home, to get the hang of it, before we go taking SIL with us. He "won" one of those free stays at a resort / RV park setup, if you can stand listening to the sales pitch. They give a choice of the "resort" (apt.-like acomodations (?sp.) three stories high with a zillion screaming kids, or RV pad with hookups, probably also with screaming kids but we would aim for the fall when school is in session and a non-weekend slot to mimimize that aspect. At our age, an old fogies / retirees oriented place would be best....ha ha!

A friend of ours said when they travel they often pull into a WalMart lot for the night. I cringed when they said that but evidently lots of people do, and I often see semi's and RV's at the far end of the lots. Guess if you arrive late and leave early it doesn't bother anyone. Fritz is still not a good traveling choice, unless it to travel to visit relatives or something. I could not leave him in the RV all day.

Best stop writing this novella and let your eyes rest. Good to hear from Tina on FB.

I've never heard of a Zero turn mower before Karen. Nice on the peppers and tomatoes reaching their peak. When do you usually get your first frost? Yum on venison spaghetti. That's neat your won a stay at a resort/RV setup. I've heard about these people parking at Walmart alright. It was nice to see Tina on FB alright. I was worried about her.

Michelle had me hungry for sausage and I had a pack in the fridge that needed to be cooked so I cooked them up for me (and have leftovers) and grilled a steak for DH. Made DH steamed broccoli and carrots and made a small tossed salad for me.

It's still oppressively hot here and we just have no desire to do anything that involves stepping out of the air conditioning.
We went to our amenity center's gym and their air conditioning system was on the "wonks" and it was just as hot inside as it was outside. I did manage to walk on the treadmill for 1/2 hour and that was it.

Karen, don't kid yourself that the old fogies/retiree places are all that ... they are usually filled with grandkids. Not that I have anything against kids but sometimes you just need a place for adults only but then again some adults are worse than the kids. When we rented and drove the RV from NJ to FL we often stopped in the Walmart parking lots to take a break but it was during the day. It's just because they are so big and take up room that most places don't welcome them but Walmart does and it was nice. Walmart and Cracker Barrel were most "RV friendly". As you noted the RVs park along the back and there is usually only 1 or 2 and the people are normal. There often is a casual restaurant within walking distance to grab something to eat making it more convenient.

Good your posts worked, Janet. A zero turn mower is operated / controlled by two handles in front and literally turns on a dime. They are not like a standard riding mower. I will try to put a pix on FB.

Good idea stopping at Cracker Barrel, Linda.

If kids are disciplined and have manners It is okay, but so many don't. I avoid "family style" and "kids under 6 eat free" establishments if possible. Some restaurants in Columbus, GA did not allow under 18 to be in, under pretense of alcohol being served, but one manager said the kids were just too badly behaved to tolerate.
