Wednesday Wedding Work

  • notyourmomma 7 years ago
Working on wedding plans. Caterers sending quotes, cake quotes, photo booth quotes! :-)

Leftovers for supper. I have two salmon cakes and asparagus.

Olivia and Scotty are supposed to be researching photographers, however it is a gorgeous day. I bet they go boating instead.

Tina, the GR avatar is SO pretty! Love those cupcakes!!!! Could I please have one right now? :) Fun, fun working on wedding plans. Also like your avatar of Scottie and Liv. Your dinner leftovers sound nummy. Pretty pics of Olivia. She looks so beautiful in her dress. Did you cry? :)

Jim and I did our workout first thing and then I made a tomato and cheddar omelette with hot sauce for brekkie. Was SO good. I don't know what I feel like having for dinner. Have to go poke around in the freezer and see if anything speaks to me.

Today I am going to clean the house.

    Wishing everyone a great day.

I fell in love with the Spring cupcakes too. I've been pinning cakes and desserts galore.

I cried before Olivia stepped out of dressing room. The wedding dress consultant said; "that's a first, Mom crying before I get you in a dress."

Your breakfast sounds yummy. I like cheddar with anything. Good luck on finding inspiration in the freezer. And ship that cleaning fairy to me. Kitchen looks fine, but boy do I need some help in my room. The dust bunnies are doing their best to over run the joint. My vacuum is making grinding noises?

Tina, Liv's dress is Beautiful and it suits her to a T. I love the new avatar for ODD. Your dinner sounds great to me. Good luck with all the wedding plans.

You sound like me not knowing what I feel like having for dinner, Janet. Welcome home! Good luck cleaning the house today.

I need to do a couple of errands today. I am leaning towards having a small ham with scalloped potatoes for dinner tonight.

    Wishing everyone a pleasant day!

    Beautiful dress, Tina.
I bet they go boating also! Much more fun.
The cupcakes are so cute! Love the avatar!
Weather forecast said you should be getting 90 F temps today.

Hi Joce. Ham and potatoes sound good. I think chicken and pasta of some kind maybe. Time to give GS something other than spaghetti or burgers.....ha ha!

Tomato omelet sounds yummy, also, Janet.

We are to have highs in the 60's depending on how how much sunshine. We are in a severe storm watch area, plus threat of hail. Wind has picked up but no sun, so far so good. Weather forecast changes every ten minutes, seems like. We have to get GS, want him here instead of home alone due to severe weather possibilities.

Something seems to be burning on stove....gotta go check. Back later.

Yummy on ham and scalloped potatoes, Joce. I hope you have a lovely day as well. When Olivia tried on this dress, she got chills and cried. Yes to the lace, yes to straps, yes to sweetheart neckline, yes to flowy skirt. It isn't heavy, it does not constrict and we paid $450 original price $800. Now if only the rest of the wedding could be deeply discounted.

I'm hungry. Hmm, last two tofu dogs in frig. This time they will get the onion, jalapeno, mustard treatment. If I check the deep freeze, I believe there are some veggie tots.

Thanks Joce. It's after 12 now and I'm still no closer to knowing what I want to eat for dinner but I do need to go get something out because it needs time to thaw!!!! I like the sounds of your dinner. Maybe I'll do something similar. I have ham and I could make a Ham and Cheesy Scalloped potato casserole. Thanks Joce!!!!! Yay! Problem solved. Plus it's good comfort food as it still looks gray and blah outside.

Goodness on the storm watch Karen. Take good care.

Karen, I hope the storm passes by without too much damage. I watched the hail damage to the cars just yesterday. Scary stuff.

Haha on getting GS to eat something different. I have a niece and grand niece that only eat certain foods.

Aldi's has cucumbers, asparagus, mini peppers and pineapples on sale. I'm going to get more cukes to quick pickle. Scotty ate my last batch in two days :-)

Lunch menu has changed due to semi toasted wild rice. Followed recipe on package but it dried out too soon. Yikes. Now they will have Chicken-grape-onion- SPAGHETTI salad ,with the noodles broken into little pieces instead of the wild rice. So far no one has complained at my experiments....LOL!. Really need a trip to the commissary!

Tina, I pay attention to his food allergies of course, but frequently serve two choices, "Take it or leave it." He would either starve or learn to eat normal foods if he.lived here.

Yum on quick pickles Tina. You know I have a fondness for all things pickled. :)

Too bad on the wild rice Karen. I have some in my pantry that I really should make a point of doing something with.

Making a batch of wonton soup for lunch. There's also a couple of pieces of leftover chicken from last night so Jim can have his choice.

Hi all!!! Liv looks beautiful in her dress Tina!!! This must be so exciting for you, wedding planning is fun, but a lot of hard work :)

Got my defensive driving all done! Yay, now I'm going to make a quick trip to Trader Joe's and get some much needed things that only they have. My favorite cheese of theirs, a New Zealand white cheddar, some of their hot tea's, some of their GF bread that Caiden loves, a korean sausage that is delicious and fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, can't wait! I think that I'll end up with a lot more stuff in my basket than just that though lol. Need to catch up here, but I gotta run. Will read back tonight, have a great day everyone!!

I love the new ODD avatar and your too Tina. The wedding dress is beautiful!! I hope that the planning goes smoothly for you.Lol, I was thinking about making pickles yesterday.

Your omelette sounds delish, Janet. Make it three for houses that need to be cleaned!!

Ham and scalloped potatoes are comfort food, Joce, enjoy.

Fingers crossed that the storm goes around you, Karen. Yikes on the rice.

It must be a relief to have the driving course done, Michelle. I was considering pasta with meatballs and garlic bread too. We haven't had pasta in ages. I wish that we had a Trader Joe's.

Dinner will be roast chicken breasts with Stuffed Artichokes and roasted red potatoes with a drizzle of honey and marg.

Alrighty.....done my house cleaning. It feels much better. The potatoes are just boiling and then I can throw together the casserole.

Your dinner sounds very posh for a Thursday evening Bren! Nice choice!

    Bren, nice meal.

Michelle, busy you, envy the Trader Joe's run. I can't walk the store anymore.

My head is splitting. It has to be the heat. Or possibly fighting the Damn printer for the quotes. Wedding cake works out to $10.00 per person. Yikes. Nora's Sweet Side is making the travel cookies for $220. For 150 cookies. I'm so happy a group recipe alum has offered a gift of a candy bar. I'm thinking ordering a bunch of cupcakes might be in order. The groom's whole pig is proving problematic...Gulfport Casino is a registered historic building and requires extra insurance and permitting to grill near building. Ugh.

Thank you, Tina. That sounds like a stress headache, never pleasant. Would cupcakes be an option because $10. per person for the cake seems excessive. I went to a wedding a few years ago and the bride and groom forwent the cutting of the cake and instead intertwined arms and fed each other cupcakes. The cupcakes were made and decorated by one of the wedding party members. I'm sure that you will iron out all of the kinks and the wedding will be wonderful. Best of luck!!

Bren, thank you honey. I'll let the B&G know about intertwined arms and see if it is a go for them. I'm having a panic attack over the details and a bride who would rather elope. Details are left to mom. My fault, I let her walk all over me. Residual guilt for dragging her to her brother's therapy five days a week for her first five years. Plus not getting her enough grief therapy when he died. Hospice cut her off at 18 months despite the fact she was self-injurying. Then there were the months she delayed her schooling to care for her daddy after his stroke and she took him to therapy while I worked. Then Fred had the massive grand mal seizure and coded twice and was on a ventilator for a month. Both of us living at the hospital. Plus she spent 10 weeks nursing my best friend who had to move after the love of her life died and she had chemotherapy for breast cancer. All of Olivia's dreams have been postponed. She wants to be a speech-language pathologist and not be the best beach bartender. She longs for her daddy. She misses her brother. She loves her Scotty. I want to do the best for her on my very limited funds. Off to blow my Damn nose.
