Wednesday Whoop-Whoop!

Good Afternoon Everyone! I'm running in slo-mo today. :) Had a nice long chat with Benjamin on Skype and then we didn't eat breakfast until 11:30 and sssshhhhhh.....I'm still in my pyjamas. :)
Benj looks tired. He's been working a ton of hours and running around going on interviews and working on his resumes plus he has a friend in town 'til Sunday from Korea so has been going out with her a lot to catch up andddddd he's coming down with a cold. Sure wish I was closer and could make him a nice meal and send him to bed for a good rest. :)
The reason for the "Whoop Whoop" is that I sold the patio door this morning! We had a third person message me last night to ask about it and then the guy who came to see it yesterday messaged me this morning to ask what our bottom line price was. I HATE bartering and would have lowered the price substantially as I'm nervous that I'll just end up with a big ole patio door in my garage forever doing nothing but collecting dust. But Jim is way better than I in these situations and said we should hold firm, which we did, and the guy wrote back and said "Okay" he'd take it and he'll be out tomorrow to pick it up. I'm very tickled. Will designate those earnings as 'fun money'. :)
Supremely hot here again today and we are just not used to it. 33C. Ugh. Plus I think my baby red squirrel has gone missing. :( When we got home from Costco yesterday there was a huge hawk on the ground near my bird feeder and it flew off when I came around the corner. I haven't seen the baby squirrel since. Boo.
    Think I'll make
    Chicken Satays With Peanut Sauce
with Edamame on the side for dinner this evening. That's IF I get my bum in gear and get some chicken thighs out of the freezer to thaw.
    Wishing everyone a great day!

Excellent to hear you sold your patio door for the asking price, Janet! Sorry to hear Ben is feeling under the weather and it doesn't help when he is stressed out either. Yes it is deadly hot again today they are saying it feels like 96F at the moment and it will get hotter this afternoon. I am not up too too much today either. Just hunkering in where it is cooler. Again not sure what we are having for dinner. I may go and pick up a rotisserie chicken and make a salad to go with it?

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Yay on selling the door! Fun money is useful - ha ha! Hope Benjamin feels better. Hi Joce!

Calling for 91F here then cooling a few degrees and less humid. Weather forecasts flip flop from maybe storms to mostly dry. It is clouding up but who knows! Yesterday's heat index was 104F....yuk! Fixed a chicken / tuna salad for lunch....guys put theirs on bread, mine was on raw spinach. Fixed cucumbers for myself and Wayne's buddy. HB will not touch them and we were given a bunch from two different people. Pot luck is this Sunday and I will include cucumbers in my to-go dishes, at least one of them anyhow.

Trouble decided after 5 1/2 hours of racing thru the house that it was time to settle on my lap and wash thoroughly. She tries to chew my fingers and grab with her claws...this is not endearing and she will soon learn that it means exile from laps. Goofball cat! Still learning.

We need to go to SAMs Club after getting back from Texas. My pantry needs replenishing. Badly. I have to go do the budget so best scram. Have a nice day!

Hi all! Awww..poor Benj, Janet :( I hope he can find a little down time to rest and get over that cold. Congrats on selling the door! Whoop! Poor squirrel, hope it didn't get carried off :( Yum on your chicken satay, I need to make that sometime!

Hi Joce :) Chicken and salad sound easy enough!

Glad you are getting a little cooler weather Karen. Lol, Trouble seems hilarious :P

Had a dentist cleaning this morning, all went well! I find it very successful when I leave there not needing a filling or a crown. I have horrible teeth that run in the family. Afterward I went to Kroger and spent a crud ton of money, but luckily it was all gift card money still. They had a bunch of Nolan Ryan grassfed beef on sale http://nolanryanbeef.com/#&panel1-2 so I bought them out. 6 packs of ground beef and 8 packs of stew meat and all was half off because the sell by date was today. Into the freezer it went! Dinner tonight will be grilled chicken with this salsa on top Nectarine Salsa along with yellow squash skewers and a salad. Will probably make some mashed potatoes for the kiddos as well. Hope everyone's day is going well!

Rotisserie chicken and salad sounds like a perfect meal for a hot summer's day Joce. Stay cool!
Good luck with your budgeting Karen. I should really go through my pantry and do a purge.
Glad your dental appointment went well Michelle. Love the term "a crud ton of money". LOL. Checked out the Nolan Ryan beef link but then had to google who Nolan Ryan was. I'd heard the name, just don't follow baseball. :) That's great you got such good deals on the beef. Your dinner sounds very summery. I adore mashed potatoes.
Marie sent the "One Ingredient Short Fairy" to my house today and I don't have the fresh coriander for the chicken skewers. Shall just make up an Asian marinade instead. Ate breakfast so late we're going to pass on lunch.

Hi. I am sitting in the truck while Wayne gets paid for the haying. They had an emergency and had to go out of town to take care of family situations. So when the guy called this morning, he agreed to stop by in the afternoon. This is such pretty country. I could not live the Amish lifestyle but do have an appreciation for it. I have read that after "Ruhmschpring" 85 percent stay with the Amish life.

Great buy, Michelle! I have been looking for grass fed beef but it is hard to find around these parts. Don't think our Kroger store carries it, it is quite small.

We are probably having a Schwanns entre tonight and some green veggies alongside. Beef and mashed potatoes sound good!

Best go. I think they went inside the house, but didn't really pay attention. They may be looking at the fields. Have a nice day!

The Amish life intrigues me as well Karen and I very much respect how they do things. Beef and mashed potatoes does sound good!
Made up a quick Mushroom cap appy stuffed with garlic, mozzarella cheese and parsley. About to start up the Barby. :)
Had a hot tub late this afternoon. Have it set at 98F at the moment so we don't feel like we're being cooked in soup. :)
