Wednesday's Wednesday

Good Morning Everyone. Wishing you all a fabulous day.

Attached is a picture of the soap I bought at the Farmer's Market. Drats, it loaded sideways but you can still see it. I think it's pretty and it smells great. I washed with it yesterday and I have to say it's nice but not as nice as mine, not as moisturizing.

Not much going on here this morning. Too early yet. Need to finish up health insurance stuff. It's such a nightmare trying to figure this stuff out, especially DH's. Will see him later this afternoon and go to the gym and then out for something to eat. I know wherever we go I'll be having some sort of dinner salad. I ate horribly yesterday and need to get back on track of healthy.

    That's it for now.

Bummer on still trying to figure out what to do about your health insurance, Linda:( It sounds quite challenging indeed! I think you make prettier soup with all the cool swirls in it. Enjoy your time at the gym and your salad.

Den has gone to get his car undercoated this morning. They called yesterday from the dealership to say they have ordered another radio for his car so it might be here tomorrow or Friday. We are going to Smith's Falls this afternoon to pick up pork chops at the butcher and we will also check a few more new places that have opened there. Then we will decide whether to eat there or when we get back here.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Good morning. I have boxes of soaps to last forever....one of my weaknesses when shopping. The home made ones are not as numerous because they cost more, but I do like them!

Ugh on health care. Are there any "professionals" in the area who will assist you in narrowing down a choice?

Yesterday was errand day. We picked up Popeyes Chicken for supper....yummy with a glass of Auntie Anne's frozen lemonade. I like that brand because it is not so sweet as the ones you get at convenience stores. The ultimate best is frozen coffee!

Laundry is going and almost ready to toss in the drier. I cleaned the kitchen counters, removing a few cat prints which tattled on little kitty paws having been where they were not supposed to be while we were gone.

The three indoor outdoor cats are outside again....they were too comfy on the couch and have begun to sleep all day then pop out the door in late evening, when I want them inside. So I unceremoniously put them out the door. Mauser is the only one in the house. We have to pick up GS this afternoon so I want them indoors when we leave, and a good long stay will predispose the little beasties to remain inside.

Woke up at 5:30, and parked in my recliner, with three cats sprawled on my lap. The first autumn mouse arrived looking for a new home. Laptime ended. Three of the cats (AC was half asleep and barely opened his eyes.) circled the area around the TV cabinet. I let Fritz out of his crate and he took over, then lost interest when the rodent disappeared, probably departed the way it entered. Wayne set a trap and eventually, if it returns it will, we hope, go for the peanut butter bait

Thanks Joce for saying my soaps are prettier. I try. Have fun out and about and hope the new places are places you'll want to go back to. I say eat there! Well of course if you find someplace good.

Soaps are such are a weakness too for me Karen but I've learned not to buy more until I'm almost out. I just don't have the room to keep a lot of things.
I have the company down for health care (kinda only one to choose from) but picking the plan is tough. I spoke with two reps so far and they both had their own idea which plan was ideal for DH and then when I read them they didn't seem so ideal so it's up to me to evaluate the coverage based on probable needs/costs. I need a crystal ball.
Glad you got all your errands done and got an icy treat in as well. LOL! Sounds like the cats are earning their keep with mouse patrol duty.

There is a beautiful cool breeze blowing now. Was out on the lanai with LD getting some fresh air. It'll probably get very warm later but nice to have morning and evening cooler temps.

Ordered some nuts and such from nuts.com. They have superior product and the grocery store nuts and such have really jumped up in price so for about the same amount of money I'm getting product that's much better. Looking forward to it coming in. I even ordered organic cornmeal for muffins and crystalized ginger for my tea.

It is cool and breezy her also Linda. The expected high is mid to upper seventies (F)
Cats cried pitifully so I caved and brought them inside. As it warms up, they will want out again but, sorry guys, we have to leave and won't be back until about nine. So cats stay indoors for the rest of the day.

Yum on crystallized ginger. We like walnuts but the ones at the store don't stay fresh very long. Maybe freezing them would help?

If you find a nice crystal ball order one for me too. Ha ha ha! Sometimes it would come in handy.

OMG That was awful!!!! I HATE being without the Internet!!!!! Repair guy showed up today around noon. I could have kissed him. :) LOL! Turned out that the repair they'd made last year to the cable wire (after Jim accidentally cut through it with his chainsaw) was compromised, so he re-spliced it and put some other joiner on. HURRAY!

Re: your thinking of moving but feel that perhaps you shouldn't since that's where Rick's customer base is Marie.....I can certainly see that. Guess it depends how many more years Rick wants to work. If he does plan on working for a while yet, I suspect he'd be able to just move his business to wherever you wanted to go. Again, he's got a really good thing going. I know it takes a bit of time to build up your clientele, but any community would be happy to have him I'm sure. I was very sad to see that Charles Schultz's home had been burned too. :( I think the museum is still intact though and that's good. It contains a lot of his stuff including a desk and recreation of the room he used to do all his cartooning in. Just read that you might retire on the Oregon Coast. I've never been there but have heard it's just gorgeous.

How awesome that your Farmer's Market is such a good one Linda! NICE on your gooey rich brownies. YUM!

Hope the kids are enjoying their Fall Break Michelle.

Can't believe Den is still having troubles with the radio Joce! What a PIA!

I had invited a girlfriend over for lunch today. Made
    Mrs Mcgarrigles Stuffed Baguette
    Onion Soup With Pesto
Just as she was leaving her house to come, she let her dog out in the backyard to go for a pee and the german shepherd next door started barking at her dog. There was a hole at the bottom of the fence in between the two properties and the german shepherd managed to get it's head down there and bit Roxie (my friend's dog) on the foot. Bad gash, tendons showing and everything!!! So my girlfriend had to rush her to the vet and of course cancel lunch. She just called me. They have to put Roxie under to operate. $700! She can pick her up around 5. :( Poor thing. She's going to come for lunch tomorrow instead. I had plans but I'll rearrange them. Hopefully the sandwich will stay good.

The soap you bought at the Farmer's Market is really pretty Linda, but as Joce says, yours is even nicer so you should pat yourself on the back.

Hope you are having a really fun jaunt to Smith's Falls Joce! It's a great day for a drive! Will they charge Den more now if they replace the radio?

We've been battling mice the last couple of weeks ourselves Karen. :( We do every fall and no matter what we do to try and thwart them they always try to get in come October. Jim went to do investigative work on them yesterday and lo and behold found two good sized holes (the size of a quarter) on either side of the basement window underneath our bedroom. He's got the saw going and is going to town to barricade it up. A shame you woke up at 5:30. I woke up at 4 and couldn't get back to sleep 'til 6:30. Over the weekend my sleep pattern got messed up and I haven't had a proper night's sleep since. Grrrrr.

    Glad you are back Janet.

It is so funny, I grew up without internet and even TV came much later, in my early teens. When ours is off now it drives me up a wall.

Our roving mousetraps are not as successful as one roving mousetrap alone, they get in each other's way and the mouse takes advantage. Fritz grabs one as soon as he sees it....he would eat the mouse if he had time. There two traps behind the cabinet, a standard blah one and a high tech disposable one that the mouse enters and circles around until it trips the spring. The high tech one is not working, guess we have low tech mice.

I have to admit they don't seem to be too plentiful so maybe the cats discourage all but the bravest to venture inside. Our daughter tried whole cloves and the first batch of rodents evacuated. The second invasion ate the cloves. Go figure.

Hello everyone:) Sorry, been busy and didn't have time to even check in..sigh:)

Janet, Rick plans to retire at 62...he's 55 now, so a few more years to go..we really have to wait, it took him years to get his customer base and we aren't worried as much anymore about "making it"...so guess we'll wait and enjoy where we are for a few more years:) By then, I'll be too old to move..hahaha

Joce, Smith Falls looks like a nice place:) I googled it...lovely!

Karen, LOl on the 3 cats sprawled on your lap this morning! Our cats have become lap cats recently...Lennon is the best lap cat ever..the girls are ok for a monute or so then their off somewhere else;)

Hi Michelle:) You must be busy today..as usual!!!!

Oh YUM on fish, prawns and chips for dinner Marie. I'm envious! God luck with the property management job.

Probably won't get on first thing tomorrow. Have been invited to my friend's for a cup of tea at 10:30 tomorrow and so Jim and I decided we'd run into town beforehand to do our errands. Home by 12:30 to host my other girlfriend for lunch.

    Night all.
