Weed Eating Wednesday!

  • chuckieb 8 years ago
Good Afternoon Everybody! Sad it's so quiet in here lately. :( Boo.
I'm about to hop in the shower. Got outside straight after breakfast and did some lawn mowing up at the front and then took the weed eater out around back. Looks a lot better. The bugs sure love me though. Bites everywhere. Argh! :(
Gonna make Tandoori chicken on the BBQ with
    Palak Dal Spinach And Lentils
    on the side.
    Joce, hope you're feeling okay.
    Marie, miss you.
Laurie, saw some fun pics of your of your pool on FB. Nice!
That Brunswick stew sounds very yummy Tina. Do you have the recipe posted?
My Mom had this gi-normous ball of baling twine in her garage when we were out visiting Karen. I don't think it sold in the garage sale, infact, I think it's still sitting in the garage. Thought of that when you said Wayne ran out yesterday. :)
Michelle, what are you guys up to today? Is it today you leave on vacation? CRAFT. If so, have a WONDERFUL TIME!
My kitchen is a disaster. It's next on my priority list.
    Have a lovely day everyone.

Hi Janet, My tummy is still giving me grief. I have started another new drug my doctor gave me today which is supposed to reduce the acid. I have been having projectile vomiting in the morning, which hasn't been much fun to clean up after myself. GRR! TMI. I was trying to wrap my BGF's 65th BD gift yesterday, a cover dress or sun dress, I bought for her a while back and noticed a flaw right on the front of it. It was covered by the tag. I am a bit ticked off! Now I have to return it and pound the pavement looking for something else for her:( I might just go to our Jewelry Store and buy her some sterling sliver earrings as I know she likes them. I have a big ball of twine and LOL Den has made a big ball of elastics as well. Not sure what we are having for dinner but it will be bland.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Awwww Joce....feel better. Benjamin used to do that projectile trick when he was a little baby. I didn't wear perfectly clean clothes to work for at least a year. :) I hope this new drug helps. Happy Birthday to your BGF! Sterling silver earrings are a VERY nice present.
Kitchen's clean again. Need to do a humongous whole house cleaning tomorrow.

Hi all! Good for you getting your yard work done early Karen, but yuck on all the bugs :( Super yum on Palak Dal Spinach And Lentils I have it saved but I really don't remember it for some reason, sounds like something I would LOVE!

Aww Joce, I'm sorry your having so much tummy trouble :( Good luck finding your GF a new gift, I think jewelry is always a great gift!

We are leaving first thing in the morning. It will probably take us about 6 hrs to get to the resort, it's in Pottsboro TX, never heard of it lol! The reunion is over on Sunday, but we are going to stay an extra night, get up and head to Six Flags which will be about an hour and a half away, but on the track home. I am about to start packing so I'm not rushing around tonight. My plan is to only have to wake up and pack the cooler. We will be stopping at a Walmart that is about 20 minutes away from the resort to get lunch food, for like sandwiches and stuff so we won't have to eat out every single meal. I will be taking my laptop so I'll be popping in from time to time...hope everyone has a great day!!

    Hi Ladies:)

Oh dear on the bug bites Janet..I'm the same way..especially with mosquito's..they love me (which these days isn't good, they carry West Nile and all) My Mom used to tell me when I was little, it was because I was so sweet:) She doesn't say that much anymore..haha

    Joce, oh feel better dear!

Michelle, have fun, sounds like a fun trip:)

I need to get our order together for Friday's delivery..waiting for Rick to get home, he's out checking some jobs to see what we need for the delivery....he had an install in Capay..about 1 hour from us..mostly dairy farms there..now he's making his way back home via a few stops:)

I'll be making penne with fresh tomatoes & feta & garlic (sure wish I had grown some basil)...with a couple of splashes of evoo...and? Can't decide what to make to go along with it...

Have a lovely day ..Hello to Tina & Karen! And everyone!

(Pssstt Michelle....it was me getting bitten by the bugs) :) I totally recommend you make the Palak Dal. I LOVE it. If you love Indian food with lots of flavour, you will love that recipe. I've never heard of Pottsboro Texas. Love learning about new places. It's a small town....population just over 2,000. It was established in 1876 by a pioneer by the name of James A. Potts. :) Have fun at the reunion. (Your side of the family or Michael's?) Good plan on getting some groceries so you don't have to eat in restaurants as often. That can get tiring/old quickly. Safe travels!
Hi Marie! I share the mosquito love me thing! :) We've got horse and deer flies out at the moment too as well as these itsy bitsy little things that look like a wasp but not quite. I've been bitten by them twice in the last two days and they're starting to piss me off. :) Hope your Mom and Dad are doing well. Haven't heard you mention Capay before. Hope Rick had a good trip. Your dinner sounds delicious! I'd just do a little tossed salad on the side.
Jim took apart the lower level of our hot tub deck this morning and has been working on it all day. Some of the cedar boards have started to rot. The guy who built it didn't leave enough space between the boards and it being right in the woods it gets a lot of spruce needles and leaves etc. on it which find their way into the cracks where they decompose and then cause an issue with the deck. He's got the deck up on its end now and has taken all the deck boards off.
I planted six leaf lettuce plants this afternoon, made my Dal and prepped my chicken. It's been lovely and cool with a gorgeous breeze.

I slept all day after being up all night. I keep skipping meals and then crash for hours.
Why did the apple turnover? Because it saw the jelly roll.

Ugh on the bugs Janet and yes, those little waspy things would piss me off too. Double ugh on the rotted boards. Sounds like a hot sweaty job. I think I posted a Brunswick stew.

Joce, what a lovely present of silver earrings. Sorry you have to run around. I do hope your stomach issues resolve soon. Bland food is best.

Michelle, it seems like you have the vacation under control. When we took road trips as kids, my mom always made up stuffed sandwiches on little rolls (deli sliders) and fruit skewers with cheese cubes. We liked the dig in the cooler meals better than fast food. I went to Six Flags years and years ago. From what this feeble mind remembers, it was great fun.

Marie, summer is busier for Rick right? Maybe you'll get some time to breathe soon. How are your folks? And I disagree, you are sweet.

I made a bowl of curried cod fillets in coconut broth, with ramen noodles, shelled edamame in ten minutes out of odds and ends in freezer & pantry. I made it hot hot curry. Ginger, cayenne, turmeric, black pepper, lime zest, coconut milk, chicken broth, frozen cod, frozen edamame and a packet of ramen minus the seasoning pack. I would have loved to add some cauliflower in it to add a veggie and bulk it up. Plus the alliterative title it would make. Curried Cauliflower and Cod in Coconut broth.

Skippy's blood work came back normal. Vet wants her to finish the drugs and come back for a check up. Lola needs her shots. Charlie needs a deep teeth cleaning.

I got a summons to Jury duty. No way I'd be able to serve. Too much brain fog.

Hi. Wayne reminded me to tell you the sisal / twine was 9,000 feet long.
We have gobs of single strands of twine hanging up on a nail in the barn, waiting for one of the multiple uses for it. But no balls of twine.

Our internet was out unti a few minutes ago. I was at exercise class and after one week of not doing them it was not so easy! One of the ladies was recouping from a stomach bug, guess it is going around here, also.

There is a Six Flags near St. Louis, have not been there but it is popular. I am sure the kids will have a good time!

    Glad Skippy is faring better.

Saw three kittens at Orschelns - barn cat wannabes. If we needed some I would have taken them, poor things were were so scared in a strange place.

Blonde was here last night. Twice. He looks right at me and then strolls off, in no hurry.

That is it for now. See you later, Internet permitting.
