What to do Wednesday?

  • chuckieb 7 years ago
Good morning everyone! It's lovely here now but supposed to go up to 27C this afternoon. We're having our septic tank pumped at some point today and I need to finish off the lawn mowing. Jim's going to weed the veggie garden.

Not sure what I'm going to make for dinner. Had a quick chat with Benjamin this morning. He has hired a moving company to move his heavy stuff to a friend's home in Pingtung and they'll pick that up tomorrow. He sent me three links of apartments he's looking at. They appear nicer than the Taipei ones at half the price which is nice.

What a laugh that sleeping chicken video was Linda. Oh my goodness. It had it's feet right up in the air and everything! What a hoot.

NICE on 5 pints of blackberries Karen! Yum on cobbler.

    Wishing everyone a lovely Wednesday.

Nice that Ben has a choice of apartments in Pingtung, Janet. Also really good that the owner of the school he will be working for is a graduate of Carleton University as well. I am sure he will be much happier at this school without the stress like the last one. I am so sorry to hear about your dental problems! After all the grief with your root canal and Jim's crown etc. ! would be looking for a second opinion and a New Dentist! Where is the tooth located? Is it in a place where it would be noticed when you smile? Not all teeth shift when a tooth is extracted. I actually Googled that and it is impossible to predict. From what you have told me about this Dentist all he wants is big money! Did he give you any antibiotics to help clear up the gum infection? O.K. Getting off my Soap Box now.
Lol Linda, I looked at the video and I have never seen anything like that!
Wow nice, you were able to pick 5 pints of blackberries, Karen! I don't think I have ever had blackberry cobbler?
I didn't get out yesterday I got sidetracked by a bunch of things so the Farm Kids and everything I planned to yesterday is on the agenda for me today. Depending on what I pick up dinner will revolve around that.
    Wishing everyone a great day!

LOL Joce! Thanks for your concern. I do appreciate it. Jim is livid at my dental situation. The tooth is on the top right in the middle kinda. I don't want to look like a pirate. And it wasn't my regular Dentist who did the root canal. He sent me to a specialist and it's the specialist's work that failed. But yes, he did do the referring. And yes, they did give me some antibiotics. Stupid tooth. :( Good luck with your errands. It's hot out there so hopefully you don't have to be outside much.

I got the lawns all finished mowing and the Septic Tank guy came and did his thing. He was very out of sorts. I know he doesn't have the nicest job, but still. Ai yi yi.

Took out some chicken thighs for dinner and I'd like to BBQ so I should go peruse some recipes.

I think I might just grill the chicken thighs and swab them down with BBQ sauce at the end. Perhaps make a potato salad on the side.
I have some avocados I need to use up as well. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them. I could make guac but then I need to think of what to use the guac on. :)

Well, hello from steamy hot MO. We are now graduating from heat advisory to heat warning! Temp in mid 90F's. And high humidity. Storms to the South but moving East and bit Nirth. We have hay in the field, Wayne is raking and finishing baling so his buddy can pick up the hay for his own use. He buys it from us in return for working....it clears are pasture and we don't have to buck hay.

Ugh in teeth problems and grumpy septic dude.

    Hi Joce!

Linda, have not been able to sit down to use the computer but will Google the URL!

Went to get tractor diesel this morning and stopped by a small farmers market -- got onions, two types of garlic, green beans, RAW (yippee!) cinnamon honey, garlic powder to try out, oatmeal raisin cookies, and homemade lavender soap. They have eggs but we have our own chickens so don't have to buy those.

Watered the garden, and am inside for the dAy unless they need me to drive the truck. Wayne is still raking......I may run down to check on him bec he should be ready to bale soon.

    See you later

Ugh on your steamy weather Karen. Hope Wayne gets his outside work done fast. That heat is hard on a body. Sounds like you got a lovely haul from the Farmer's Market!

    Good Afternoon Everyone.

Been busy this a.m. ... To make the long of it short, we are not happy with our current storage unit and found another so had to go out this morning to see the new one and secure it. We will move everything that's in the current unit over to the new unit Friday morning. We rented a small Uhaul truck to do it in one swoop. It'll be a pain to do but we both will feel better being at the new unit. Also had to confirm some stuff up for the new house (security system and cable outlets) with a new rep because the first rep wasn't doing a good job so I went up the corporate side to get someone else. I have no tolerance, when important things are at stake, for incompetency. Not that cable outlets are important but I hate wasting time and making mistakes because someone doesn't know their job well or are not that good at it. Those two things took up the entire morning. Went to the gym and still need to practice some Kenpo.

I hope you get your dental issues resolved Janet, nothing to mess around with especially infections. I have an idea for your avocados ... http://www.theroastedroot.net/healthy-4-ingredient-chocolate-mousse
I have to laugh about your septic cleaning ... One year for Christmas we (me, my sisters, and brother) didn't know what to get my mom so I came up with the brainy idea of a gift certificate for a septic cleaning. We all pitched in $$ and thought it was great, something expensive that is needed ... well, she opened the card and was so ticked off at us all! Months later when she used it and didn't have to pay for the cleaning she was happy.

Hoping you get your errands done today Joce that you wanted to get done yesterday.

    It's hot here too Karen!

Oh dear on the storage unit change Linda. More work! Sounds like you had a lot on your plate to deal with this morning. Good for you on getting it all cleaned up. ROFL @ the Septic tank gift certificate. That's hilarious. :) I would totally like that mousse but my DH does not like desserts. Thank you though for sharing the idea.
Off to the library. See if I can find some more movies to watch.

Hi all!! Another super busy day. These camps are taking a toll on me. 3 hours at drama camp that's 45 mins. away and then fighting traffic back to 2 hours of soccer camp and by the time we get home we are STARVING! And before all that I make it to the gym and figure out what I can do for dinner, even though I we won't be here lol. I made up some ham salad today for sandwiches, which is quick and easy. Michael ended up taking Caiden to the soccer camp this time so I finally have a tiny bit of free time lol. in just a bit I have to leave to go pick up Bri, she ended up going with Emma to church.

Oh Bri and Caiden got their parts in the play yesterday. Bri is Adele the Cat and Caiden is Larry the Sheep :) Caiden only has a few lines in the play, which is a good thing lol. Bri get's a fiddle as a prop. We have to make the costumes and I've got not one creative bone in my body lol, but a lot of the other women do and have given me good ideas. Gotta run and pick up Bri, have a great evening :)

Michelle, you are certainly a busy person with Bri and Caiden's activities. I'm sure they will have a great time. Good luck on the costumes. You may recall my daughter was a teenager before she a Halloween costume other than a sheet with holes for the eyes....I have not one ounce of imagination when it comes to costumes.

Janet, I like desserts but we don't often have them. The cookies were really good. That should take care of my sweets for a while.

We are watching the Republican convention tonight. Fox was too annoying....their commentators interrupted speakers to blab their own opinions, so we went to C-Span instead. I get quite irritated when the networks act like I can't form my own opinion! Will watch the Democratic one and probably growl about the same problem. End of rant.

The guys finished one field, well, the guys and his buddy's step grandkids. He told them if they want horses they will buck hay, groom, and so on. Ha ha. Good man! As his buddy took one trailer load of hay home, a summer storm hit with a vengeance. So they will likely have to tedder the hay, and take apart the 40 bales in the field to dry. All that plus an excessive heat warning. Sigh. This too shall pass.

    Have a nice evening!
