What to make Wednesday?

Morning Everyone! Just about to load up the car and head home. Gorgeous day today. Super sunny with blue sky so it'll be a very pretty drive.

Not a clue what to make for dinner this evening. Dentist appointment at 2:20.

    Wishing everyone a grand day!

    Hello and Good Afternoon All!

I'm in the "I don't have a clue what to make for dinner" group too today. I'm so tired of the same ole same ole and want something different but I just don't know what. Even went to the grocery store early but only came home with my standard items. At least I got lot's of veggies and the freezer is stocked with meats so I guess it'll be the same ole something for dinner.

Is this the new dentist Janet that you'll see today? Hope all goes well.

I'm fighting a sore throat and got a really nice throat coating tea at the store. It tastes like black licorice so I'm loving it! It's got a bunch of stuff in it but I'm glad it tastes good too.

Never did get to Costco yesterday so it's on Thursday's "to-do" list. After we ate we just wanted to go home so we did.

Has anyone else begun to eat their stash of Halloween candy for the Halloweeners? I have ... :)

Wishing you a very safe drive home, Janet. Good luck at the dentist as well!

Happy Birthday, Tina! I hope you have a great day!

Since it is such a nice Fall day we are going for a drive to enjoy all the beautiful Fall foliage before it is all gone and we will stop somewhere for lunch while we are out as well.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

I hope you had a picturesque drive home! Hopefully it's an easy dentist appt, or are you having the tooth extraction?

We're having leftover Pumpkin Chili, it's very good!
Still at home with Sophia, she has a follow up with the ENT tomorrow--who did her surgery's. I had to wait 11 weeks for the follow up as he's so busy, so I'm not about to postpone it. He won't be able to put the scope up in her nose to see where the adenoids were removed because she's stuffed up! But I am more concerned with her ears as I think one of the tubes is already coming out?
I'm about to order grocery's online and have Pete pick them up for me. Superstore does it now, they only charge $5 for the peak times between 5-7pm and $3 any other time. Pete parks his truck right at the pick up location, so it's perfect. I'd much prefer to pick out my own grocery's, but I don't want to take Sophia out while she's sick.

Hope everyone is having a great day so far :)

Missed you there, Linda and Joce!

I hope your sore throat goes away soon, I love black licorice tea! Joce recommended throat lozenge's for me called Dequadin, take them at the first sign of a sore throat. They aren't harsh like a cough drop or leave a weird taste in your mouth either.

Enjoy your Autumn drive Joce, have a fabulous lunch out :)

Oops! I missed Linda and Shona!
I hope your sore throat clears up, Linda!

I wouldn't postpone Sophia's appointment with the ENT either, Shona. It might be better he sees her when she is under the weather. Unfortunately, you can only get Dequadin in Canada.

First off a BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TINA!!! :O)

Hi!! Have a safe trip home Janet!

I hear ya on the same ol’ same ol’ Linda. I’ve sort of been in a rut, and I think it’s because I stopped making dinner plans a week at a time like I used to. Need to start that back up again, but it’s super hard with all the stuff we have to do in the evenings. Nice on the tea, but I have to say, not a fan of black licorice :\ Hope you feel better though! Lol, the only Halloween candy I have to buy is for Caiden’s school as they do a big Candy Fest thing there, but the bags have to be kept closed, so no dipping in it for us :P We have never passed out candy cause we are always out Trick or Treating!

Have fun on your drive today Joce, enjoy the weather :)

Good luck at Sophia’s follow up appt. Shona. How long has she had her tubes in her ears for? I can’t remember how long Caiden had his in until they fell out. Cool on the pick up groceries deal, I don’t know if we have that around here or not? It’s a great idea for me to look into for when one of the kids gets sick!

Went to the gym early then headed to the Farmers Market. They changed up the whole place since I’ve been, not sure if I like it better or not. Guess it’s something I’ll have to get used to! They do have all their wonderful fall foods, gourds, pumpkins, decorating corn. I bought another pie pumpkin and 4 tiny pumpkins and of course a ton of veggies. I will wait to buy big carving pumpkins for when we take the kids to the pumpkin patch just down the road.

Dinner will be taco salad with homemade salsa. Have a great day everyone!!

Happy Birthday Tina!!!! Hope you have a wonderful day :)

That's too bad Dequadin is only available in Canada.

Hi Michelle, when Sophie had her last pair of tubes they only lasted a couple months, one side fell out after 3-4 weeks! They should last 3-12 months, some even 18 months. She's had these ones in since Aug. 8th., and the same side where the previous one fell out it looks like this one is starting to come out. They put the bigger, longer tubes in so they were suppose to last at least a year. Hopefully they just move and it's not actually coming out :S

I don't like to buy candy until the day or two before Halloween, so I won't eat it..lol ;) I do like to buy things we will eat as we're usually left with a lot. Last year we only had one kid come to the door! The year before we had 25 ( I make trick or treat bags, so I know the numbers) Since all the newer subdivisions were built, all the kids go to the other side of town now. I go through the kids candy and take out all the hard candy with food dyes, so they aren't left with much. I let them have m&m's and smarties though, but it's good to have a little extra at home for them. The kids seem to come home with more healthy stuff now, cereal bars, dried fruit, juice boxes, crackers and non-food items like Halloween themed stickers, tattoos, pencils, erasers, money, coupons and little toys. Much better than all the candy corn and molasses candy they gave out when I was a kid! ;)

Happy Birthday Tina! Wishing you a fabulous fun filled day.

That really stinks your DD is still having so many ENT related problems Shona. Good luck at her appointment tomorrow, I hope he is able to conclude something and do something for her that will help.
Nice that you can grocery shop on-line. Understandable wanting to pick your own things but if you can't get there to do it it's a great convenience to have available.
Drats on Dequadin not being available in the states. I picked up zinc lozenges and they are just downright unpleasant.

My DH is such a fussy eater Michelle. It's a miracle if I make something new and he even tries it let alone likes it. I know what he likes which is why I make the same things over and over. Sometimes I'll make something different for me ...

I doubt we'll get any kids for Halloween but just incase I got a bag of candy.

Hi Linda! The Dentist I saw this afternoon is the Specialist that my new Dentist recommended. He'll be removing the tooth that is causing my grief next Tuesday. Yay! Not that I'm all happy to get a tooth pulled, BUT, I will be happy to have this whole silly thing over with once and for all. (Hopefully and knock on wood) :) It's neat you mentioned the throat coating tea. Last night my SIL was suffering from a sore throat and her girlfriend gave her such a tea. I'd never heard of it before. I think she also mentioned it tasted like liquorice. I have purposely not purchased any Halloween treats yet. I'll do it only a day or two ahead of time for that very reason. LOLOLOL.

Sounds like you had a lovely day planned Joce. Do tell us all about it tomorrow. The leaves coming back from the cottage were STUNNING! We were commenting on how tourists pay money to come here and see them and we get to enjoy them for free. :)

Glad to hear you have an appointment for Sophia tomorrow with her ENT Shona. It'll be good to get that follow up and make sure things are as they should be.That's neat about the grocery shopping online. Have you done it before? Let us know what you think? Can you specify brands? I'd assume so. Wow on all the healthy Halloween treats that Sophia and Caiden bring home. That's kind of neat.

Your trip to the Farmer's Market sounded fun Michelle. I bought two small pie pumpkins today as well but for use decorating the window box outside my bedroom. :) Taco salad sounds AWESOME!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TINA! Hope it was fabulous!

Had a nice day all things considered. Got home an hour before my appointment so had a chance to hop in the shower. (There's only one bathroom at the cottage and it's a killer to try get in there at the best of times! :) Saw the specialist and he seems very down to earth and straight forward, which I appreciate. Then Jim and I went for lunch at "The Lone Star". Frozen Margueritas and Fajitas. Will thaw some soup if we get hungry tonight but that was our big meal for today.

Home now and it's nice to be so. The leaves are gorgeous. The squirrels are all happy I'm back. I'm happy to be back as well.

Oh wow Shona, then that is early if the tubes are supposed to last a year! Guess you'll find out whats going on tomorrow, let us know. I do notice all the healthier stuff. My favorite is the Halloween pretzels, the kids love those and will take them in their lunch to school until they run out :)

Lol on your DH being so fussy, my family doesn't have a choice, what I make is what they eat or they starve! Actually if they did complain, I would probably make what they liked all the time, but they seem to like new stuff, so it works for all of us :)

Happy your getting your bad tooth pulled, although, hopefully it won't be too painful afterward! Will you be gassed or just a local? Yum on margaritas and fajitas!!

We went up to the printing shop where we get all of our team shirts printed on to see if we could get visors for the girls with the team logo on it, but the catch is that the visor has to fit over their face mask, everyone in the in field must wear the face mask, so if it didn't fit, no point in getting them, and go figure it didn't fit. So Bri is all upset cause she has been asking for one forever, and I don't blame her, it's hot out there on the field. Oh well!
