What's Up Wednesday

  • LindaLMT 7 years ago
Good Morning ... Good Afternoon All!

What's Up? It's been quite here.

Not much happening here. Just a normal Wednesday here for us. Made a pot of turkey chili for lunch, a simple recipe as DH doesn't like much spice. I add "Ring of Fire" hot sauce to my bowl and it spices it up enough for 10 people (lol!!).
I potted my ginger yesterday. Now to keep it moist and see what happens. I hope it grows.
I'm reading a book that is fabulous! I'm having a hard time putting it down. It's well written and is historical fiction. They made it into a movie and I taped the movie and started to watch it. I got about 30 minutes into and decided I would rather read the book because I wasn't too thrilled with the acting. Wise choice. The book is really good.

That's all that's happening here. What's up with YOU?

Hi Linda, Turkey chili sounds great! Haha, I use to handle heat much better, but my large tonsils are too sensitive nowadays! I love historical fiction, glad to hear that book is good! I haven't read a good book in awhile ;)

Not much happening here either, I have to take the kids to their Physio appt. downtown soon, and maybe stop in at the Book store. I have a couple coupons that need to be used up this week. My son is a big reader like me, he just read the Hunger Games trilogy in 3 weeks, and he needs more books! ;)

I'm making Thai Chicken Noodles for dinner tonight. The weather is still brisk, but sunny today instead of rainy. The leaves are starting to change it's colours, and a few ash trees are already thinning out for Fall.

    Have a great day everyone!

Good afternoon. Having egg salad for lunch....with Black Forest ham, celery, green onion, etc. in it. Then we have an appt. for haircuts at 4. .

Haven't read much new since retiring from the library. I enjoyed some of Harry Turtledove's alternative history novels but it has been quite a while. The new J.K. Rowling book has piqued my interest so I will have to get that one.

Got to go. Guys are here for lunch.

Wow, it's dead in here!! I like the sound of your "ring of fire sauce" Linda, sounds like my kinda sauce :) Movies are never as good as the books!

Wow on your son and his reading Shona! Yum on Thai Chicken Noodles that's another recipe I need to make. We still have a few more months until we even see a hint of fall around here, this is definitely the hottest month of the year for us.

Good luck with the haircuts Karen :)

I didn't end up cleaning my floors yesterday so I did it first thing this morning. Tough work but someone's gotta do it :P Then did a little bit of grocery shopping and stopped by the "Egg and I" and got some brunch to bring home and eat, it was yummy of course :) Did even more laundry, trimmed the bushes, vacuumed all the bedrooms and cleaned Caiden's messy bedroom (I usually would make him do it, but it's the first week of school, sooo...). About to start dinner, spaghetti and meatballs or meat sauce, haven't decided. Caiden has soccer practice again tonight, so dinner will be before or after? Lol. Hope everyone had a great day!!!

Good afternoon everyone. Not much happening here either. We went to Costco for a few things this afternoon and it was really busy. I was almost out of their avocado oil that I love. Made a few decisions for the appliances so things are getting there. Dinner will be roast beef with gravy that I pulled out of the freezer . Rice and salad will round it out.
I've never had turkey chilli, I should try that soon. Keep us posted on the ginger please.
I had a peek at that book and it looks really interesting, no wonder you can't put it down. I really haven't read anything lately that was great.
Wow, that noodle dish looks great Shona. Both of mine love to read, just like me. Good luck with Physio. It's still summer here. It's close to 40 with the humidity, yuck!
I loved the Harry Potter series, Karen, and was looking forward to her new book but my daughter told me that it's written like a screen play.
You were very productive today Michelle. I'm feeling quite lazy and can't seem to get much accomplished.

Fall ... What's that? It's perpetual summer here, nothing ever changes and it looks the same year round. :(

Hi Shona! How are you liking your new internet hookup?
Hi Karen! Egg salad sounds good. Haven't had it in forever but I do love it.
Hi Michelle! You sure are busy busy. Pasta and sauce never gets old, love it too.
Hi Bren! I too need to get to Costco for a couple items and will within the next few days. Hot open faced sandwiches are one of my favorite meals for leftover then I don't have to make a starch.

    Hi Michelle....Bren....Linda.

I think I will have to look at her new book on Amazon to see how it reads. I need a copy of The Order of the Phoenix since my paperback copy is pretty ragged. So maybe will order both if the new one is readable.

Michelle I get tired just reading about all you accomplish in one day.LOL!

It was ice for a bit then temp hit somewhere around the nineties today. No rain. Hot and humid. I am ready for fall.

Got haircuts. The gal Wayne likes to it his hair moved to a new place so we went there. It is nice And slightly less expensive. Checks and cash only so must remember to have checkbook there.

We ate at Slice of Pie in Rolla. I had the spinach quiche but it was not so great. Wayne's bacon quiche was good though. Had s Coke and slice of chocolate chip mint pie, that does my sugar intake for a month! Will go home feed horses and lock up chickens for the night, then it is time to sit back and relax.

    See you later.
