Worcestershire Wednesday

Good Morning Everybody! Gonna be another hot steamy day here. They say there's a 40% chance of rain but I'll believe it when I see it.
I have a ton of errands to run today. Bank, Pharmacy, Grocery, Walmart, Starbuck's, etc. and Mom and I are going to meet up with my girlfriend and go to The Lone Star for lunch http://www.lonestartexasgrill.com/
And then it's over to the Hospital. Big day for Mom today. She sees the Cancer Assessment Clinic about all of her test results and how they will be moving forward. Fingers crossed.
Noooooo clue about dinner. Hoping something jumps out at me at the Grocery store.
Wishing everyone a really good day. Onward Ho!

Whirlwind Wednesday would be appropriate for you, Janet. That is one busy day you have ahead of you. Fingers crossed and prayers for your mom today. Have a big lunch and an easy supper.

I'm really headachy. I think I'll call Angie and see if she can do my nails tomorrow. The dogs were so considerate and let me sleep past 7 this a.m. Of course they had their walk at midnight. Charlie is funny, he will stand next to the dresser and bang it with his tail until I stir. Or he sticks his head under my hand until I wake. Silly dog.

I don't know about dinner either. I have leftover sausages, leftover fried chicken (still). Salad stuff.

Yes Janet you do have a very busy day ahead! Oh and don't forget to get both your propane tanks filled up today as well:) Enjoy your lunch and dinner. Sending the very best of luck to your Mom. Give her A BIG HUG from me:)

Tina, Charlie sounds soo cute! Glad both doggies let you sleep in. I am so happy your arm is healing and seems better without any pain. No so on your headache though hoping it will go away as the day progresses.

Thankfully I did almost everything yesterday that I really needed to get done. I did some hard boiled eggs this morning for deviled eggs and cooked up some baby new potatoes for potato salad they are now cooling in the fridge. We are just going to have a cold dinner with extra salads and cold meats. Maybe for dessert (which we don't usually do often) some strawberry shortcake or something like that.

Keep Cool and hoping everyone has a marvelous day!

oh, Joce. I need to hard cook some eggs, used my last ones on the Chef salad. Thanks for the reminder. I had a tuna fish salad craving.and have the goods. A cold salad and cold meat supper sounds just fine for a hot day.

I'm going to make a veggie burger for lunch...Slice up a nice tomato, lettuce and onion on the spicy black bean burger on a fresh bun. The advil didn't help with the head, think it might be caffeine withdrawal. I haven't been drinking my 3 cups of joe. Didn't feel like making a pot for just me. Guess I'll drink a diet coke and see if the headache abates.

Talked to Liv and the temp was 64 degrees. They were going gem mining. Liv enjoys mining and she is helping with the 9 year old grandson (who had ankle surgery) and is in a cast. Lynda says she has been very helpful. Fred is sleeping a lot and they are worried about him. I told them not to worry and let the beast

Hello out there. This morning started with a bump. Dad had fixed himself breakfast, the plate got away from him as he was putting it on the table and in his effort to recover it down he went. I am not strong enough to haul him up. Happily he wasn't much injured but for a cut on his arm, but mentally he was all gone. After a couple of glasses of water and some calming we worked out a plan to get him up. Then I fixed him breakfast and cleaned up all the associated messes. Not a good way to start the day but it could have been much much worse.
When I got home I worked on some more vacation pictures. Here is Natchez MS for your viewing pleasure. http://youtu.be/F7dUvWUZvFQ
I will be making a pot roast for dinner. Just about time to get it in the crockpot.
Tell Liv to bring back extra gems for her gem of a mama.

Oh Laura, what a scare for the morning. I hope Dad has gathered his wits. I'll be looking at Natchez after lunch. I do hope they find some gems...sweet thought! Thank you. I think I'll check the freezer for something to crock pot for the travelers on their Friday arrival. Wish me luck.....I'll have to dig past all the frozen raw chicken.

I don't know where the rest of my post above went, I meant to let "sleeping dogs lie" as far as Fred. He has been driving Bruce and Lynda nuts, he finishes his meal and starts clearing plates before they have finished eating what is on their plate. His idea of helping.

Janet, I do believe those little pork and lemon patties would lend themselves quite well to a little Banh Mi treatment. Make a quick pickled veggie salad of carrot threads, bean sprouts, daikon radish, green onions and fresh mint in dressing made of fish sauce, brown sugar, lime juice. Put on a toasted french roll with garlic aoili, the pork/lemon patties and the salad on top. You are now enjoying a Vietnamese specialty.

Laura, did you try any of the hot tamales in the Natchez area? Supposedly tamales are a really big deal along the route you drove. I was reminded because of "Food Court Wars" on the Cooking Channel last night. The mom and pop (64 and 66) respectively were competing to get in a food court with their 45 year old recipe for hot tamales. They were adorable. Their tag line was "suck the shuck" and they were serving their food out of a gas station and hoped to strike it big. I wanted to try those tamales right then. And Alton Brown had a big to do about tamales on his series "Feasting on Asphalt".

No thank you Tina:) You reminded me to make a tuna pasta salad. The fridge it getting so jammed packed with little bowls for dinner I almost forgot! Oh my... do you ever know how to switch up a recipe the Bahn Mi treatment puts it over the top! I hope the caffeine does the trick for your headache.

Laura, What a way to start the morning! A good thing he wasn't hurt and you were able to get Dad up. Your road trip to Natchez looked wonderful the buildings and gardens and music suited it to a "T". Thank you:)

Hi Guys. Bad news here. The lung cancer has spread to Mom's liver so they no longer consider her operable. They are going to treat the liver cancer with chemo or radiation and then if they get it she could get the lung cancer operated on. Bad news. Mom said she knew the cancer had spread. She says she's a pessimist at heart. We'll get a phone call this next week to book our first appointment at the Cancer Centre. Will check back in tomorrow.
Sorry to hear Dad fell Laura. Glad he's okay.
