However, do not fret, you can substitute white sugar. Mind you, there is a subtle taste difference & often a consistency difference, but in a pinch, it will do. Otherwise, if you have molasses available to you, you may be able to make your own. If you have a good, find grain sugar, add the molasses & put in enough to color it correctly and give it a soft, pliable feel, then you have it!
