About me
My mother's side of the family is from Northern Italian background...Solto-Colina area, way up in the mountains northeast of lake Como. There the flavors are simlple, direct and strong. I was raised on that cuisine, so I attemp to maintain it in my houshold. My fathers side is from mostly Holland so I have that to uphold as well. Anyway that is who I am and althouth my tastes , I have to say reflect the Italian side much more so , I am open to all recipes.

Thanks for visiting. the anchovies stock refers to dried anchovies, boiled in water just like how u make chicken stock... not the fresh anchovies.

Maybe there was shrimp up here a million years ago as this was probably the ocean's floor. First, don't think I'd give even my worst enemy million year old shrimp. But you are making our palates water. Yum ditty Yum.

Chris, Thank you for your nice Comment on the Ragu & Me. You know, tired & hungry night but I don't eat Fast Food takeout or TV dinners. I love Pasta & what was so interesting about this dish was that the texture of the processed Carrots was the same as ground beef. Appreciate your comment friend. have a good night.

Hi Chris,
Lake Como is beautiful. The areas between Switzerland, Austria, Germany & Italy are some of the most beautiful country in the world. And the food, Ohhh Lah Lah. Italy is the one country that I could literally, eat & eat & eat until I burst my way through. Don't know much about food from the Netherlands & am looking forward to your recipes from there. When you have time to take a break from your work, that is. I too am self employed & answer to my clients ever changing whims. Our good wishes are with you.
