About me
My name is Jill. I am a retired teacher -- I had a business called Aunt Bea's, thus the handle. I live with my husband and our fur family (1 dog, 3 cats). I have always loved food and cooking and it came in handy while we were raising 3 sons. They have all flown the coop now, but I still love to find a delicious, wholesome recipes to add to my repertoire in the kitchen. I like recipes that are quick and easy with few ingredients and good results. My husband and I love soup and during the cold winter months in Canada I pretty well have a bubbling pot of soup on the stove at all times. It's the one thing I will spend hours and hours on. I have always loved eating out, but we're getting to that age where we find that anything we can get in the restaurants I can make better at home. I love when I can find alternate uses for food items. For example, using gyozas as won tons, as I did recently in Wor Won Ton soup. Cravings usually drive my food choices; I'm always craving something! Unfortunately for my waist line I love almost everything to do with food! I love this site -- it's the best place for the widest assortment of tried and true recipes and the most current food trends! I love meeting cooking friends and seeing how they live and love and cook all over the US and Canada and the world and I love the conversations and encouragement shown on this site!
