About me
I've loved cooking and baking ever since I was a little. I grew up with a younger, more North Eastern version of Paula Deen for a mother :) She's an amazing cook (and mother for that matter) and has taught me everything I know. I consider myself a beginner because, although I've watched my mother cook, stood near, helped etc. I haven't, until recently, began really cooking alone in the kitchen. I'm not bad. Not at all. I've made some really narley dishes so far, and have begun to really fall in love with cooking. I imagine I'll only learn more and gain more experience when I move out. I still prefer my mother's cooking over my own. I LOVE exotic foods. Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Moroccan, Italian, French, Polish, Lebanese EVERYTHING! I completely admire the Japanese for their constant attention to detail, the simplicity and beauty of their dishes, the aromatic spices of Moroccan food, the homey comforting smells of polish food. I love it all, and I want to learn how to make everything authentically, and perfectly. Essentially, I want to eat my way around the world. In my under-funded dreams, I can only afford ingredients and recipe searches. But hopefully, if a culinary degree can take my love for food international, I'll have a much more educated perspective of what good food tastes like, and where it comes from.
