WOW, what a dessert. Sounds fabulous. I haven't been here for a while & look what I'm missing. I just got tired of all the crap that was going on & how it was spoiling a wonderful site. Guess I need to check things out again if I'm missing recipes like this one.

This is a very interesting recipe, never had oatmeal turn out quite like this but I still really liked it! Honestly though, I was looking to get more of an oatmeal texture, but this still had a really nice flavor. I added my review in Frankie's IMI link below :)

I wasn't quite sure what to expect here. For some reason, I thought this would be more cookie or cake textured and would cut into squares or bars. It was pretty tasty! It definitely picks up bland old oatmeal. I used oil, brown sugar, whole milk and rolled oats. I didn't have any nuts and I used dried apricots and 1/2 tsp each of the nutmeg and cinnamon. The oats on top were still pretty firm. It would definitely be good with ice cream on it although I ate it plain to see how it tasted. I added my picture and a thread in IMI 9/21/13

Great minds think alike! :) I just did a banana split trifle, also with no ice cream, that I'll be posting either tonight or next week. This sounds great.

It is! Our family loves it. We like it a little more spice so we add a can of green chilis to it. I hope you get a chance to try it!
    Hugs,

Thanks for trying the sloppy joe cups and posting comment. It is a nice simple recipe and those are the best sometimes. Good idea to add some spice.

P.S. If you like stuff a little spicier, we've taken to adding a can of green chilis too.
