About me
I just love my garden. I am developing it gradually into a permaculture designed, sustainable system with elements such as a herb spiral, no-dig gardens, aquaculture, fruit trees, a banana circle, papaya circle, chickens, quails and various composting systems. I grow fodder for the animals and collect wonderful fresh eggs and have plenty of manure with which to feed all my plants. When I'm inside I like to knit or play with my rabbit, Hickson, who follows me around the house or hangs around the kitchen waiting for tit-bits or getting his nose scratched. I have some wonderful friends in permaculture and we share lots of seeds and plants to grow as food, for flowers or to attract beneficial insects. My family look forward to my visits because I'm always bringing them something from the garden, and I get fed in the meantime! Somehow I actually find time to cook, sometimes, and when I do I always have some home grown produce, even if it's just herbs but sometimes an entire meal. Best thing I ever did was to go part-time so I only work three days a week. Now I can balance my social and home life much better and actually don't mind being at work so much!

Just stopping in to see how the pizza turned out??? I never have tried pizza with eggplant. Is that tasty?

I thought we should be friends since we both love gardening! :-)

G'day Bellarosa
Thanks for being my foodie mate. I'm just accross the ditch, and like you I prefer non manufactured food. I am in the early stages of going organic and trying to reorganise my house and garden.
Cheers

Thanks for the comment on the spinach-ricotta pie. Nice dish for warm weather with a nice salad!

I am a fan of most flavour cuisines, especially Italian - fresh ingredients, simple combinations with lots of flavour. I grow most of my own greens and some fruit, without the use of pesticides. I keep chickens and quails for fresh eggs and protein. Looking forward to getting to know you all, and sharing delicious recipes:-))
