About me
I am happily married to the most wonderful man in the world, Todd. We live in rural MN but we are not too far from the cities and civilization, but far enough :) I have a few laying hens and one rooster. I love to cook and I am getting better at it. Breakfast foods are my specialty along with grilling/smoking meat. A few months ago I had some blood tests done and found out I have a few food intolerance's - gluten, corn, olive (olive oil) So I pretty much quite eating out and eating any processed foods. Which has been a challenge but also has been very rewarding. I feel better than I have in years and I have lost 20 lbs :) My husband still eats the junk - he was raised on it but will eat things that I make. He hates the cost of healthy food, but I hope he is realizing that there is no price on a healthy, happy wife :)

Oh if you post you replies on my home page I will see them much quicker...

Thank you for becoming a new cooking friend... I look forward to sharing recipes with you...

the pizza dough will be sticky... that is one of the unfortunate things about cooking gluten free... one of the suggestions for baking the crust is to get a light colored pan that has a texture... it helps the crust to become crisper..... I will look up in my baking book about the pizza dough for more hints....
be back later...

Thank you Peetabear, I'll take all the help I can get. The pizza dough was really sticky and hard to work with. I just kept adding flour and that seemed to help, but it just seemed like a lot. One question, do you actually cook the crust on the parchment paper? I have not been doing that. I also do not have a pizza stone or a baking peel. I will be making the carrot cake later today, so if you have any suggestions for that, I would appreciate it.

I am sorry you are having trouble with making the pizza.... unforuniately baking with gluten free ingredients is hard... almost everything we have learned in baking does not apply to our baking...

if you let me know what the problem is maybe I can help..hope to talk to you soon... peeta
