About me
I am married with grown children and sort of semi-retired. This means I have worked most of my life and recently laid off due to funding and I call this 'forced retirement' (LOL) I love cooking and entertaining friends and family. I live in seafood heaven in Florida with lots of fresh fish and shellfish. One of my favorite foods is SOUP. I make it often year round as a starter or as a main event. If you have some good soup recipes, please share. I love to cook and watch people enjoy the fruits of my labor of love. Sharing recipes is certainly a pleasure and desire, but I never measure anything I cook, which really makes my children frustrated with me. I will do my best to quesstimate the measurements as I share with you all.

Hi Cassyc52 (and fellow Floridian) - and welcome to Group Recipes! Thanks so much for dropping by my basil buttermilk dressing - I appreciate it and hope you get a chance to try it.

Thank you cassyc52 for accepting my invitation! I'm sure we will share many cooking secrets!!
Have a great day!

Oh my goodness, we need to ramp up your baking passion. To have a variety of Maida Heatter's books, including one autographed, and not put them to the best use is heresy. The true joy is that her recipes are fail-safe. She and Marion Morash's "Victory Garden Cookbook" are my favorite reliable books.
Take a walk on the wild side and do try her East 62nd St. Cake, the Lemon Pound Cake I posted. I absolutely promise that if you care for lemon this will be undiluted bliss. I admit to eating the middle of slices first and saving the part with the glaze soaked in as the best for last.
Keep me posted!!

This is so similar to mine....I add some cream cheese to mine...it just gives it a creamier consistency......Love your recipe

My Bar-b-que Sauce
Great recipe! Love that fresh lemon juice! It just "expands" and "opens" up those wonderful flavors!

The Best Pimento Cheese S
A true and delicious Southern classic and the homemade beats the commerical brand hands-down. Thanks so much - great post!
