About me
I became a vegetarian when I was 18 for silly reasons. So, I was forced to become more creative when it came to food preparation. I was pretty strict for about 10 years. But I had always loved seafood and one day my roommate and I decided to grill swordfish steaks. They didn't turn out very well but it was enough to make me curious. I ended up falling in love with sushi and all types of seafood. The next step was chicken. To this day I am weary of eating chicken that I didn't prepare myself. Then one day I decided to make myself a steak. I fired up the grill and put about a 2 1/2 inch thick tenderloin on it. It was getting dark out and I couldn't see very well. I cut off a big hunk and tasted it, and it was so tender and juicy. I put it on a plate and brought it inside and it was completely raw. For years I cooked and cooked and one day, decided that rather than put either of my 2 degrees to use, I wanted to work in the food industry. I have now worked at 3 different establishments. My food tastes still reflect my meatless period a bit. I still love good vegetarian dishes. I will eat pretty much any cut type of meat but avoid anything ground.
