About me
My name is Jay Ziobrowski (AKA Chef Jay Z) from Lawn Gisland (Long Island), New York. So what’s my story? Well, I worked for ARAmark Food Service for 4 years and then left to attend, and graduate from, Johnson & Wales University, Providence, Rhode Island in 2001, with a bachelor’s degree in culinary arts. I also have an Associates degree in Hotel Restaurant management and an Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts. After college I worked for The Schwan Food Company in Marshall, Minnesota where I was a Corporate Chef for 2 years and then became the Executive Chef of The Landmark Bistro, southwest Minnesota’s only fine dining restaurant. I have worked in numerous restaurants and hotels and learned from some really great chefs. To name a few: Chef John Aukstolis, Johnson &Wales University, Providence, Rhode Island. Chef Dominic Nettey, Hay Harbor Club, Fishers Island , New York Chef Corey Wry, Hay Harbor Club, Fishers Island, New York Chef Lawrence McFadden, Ritz Carlton hotels, Naples, Florida Chef Annette Hinton, Schwan’s R&D, Marshall, Minnesota Chef Pierce Capell, Landmark Bistro, Marshall Minnesota & JWU Providence, Rhode Island Each one taught me something that molded who I am today. Food is a huge part of my life. Any questions on cooking feel free to ask, if I do not know I will try to find out for you. I can honestly say I enjoy just about every sport whether watching or playing. I love to adventure to new places meet all kinds people from all over, experience lifestyles & cultures, and eat great food. Right now I enjoy life in Charlotte, North Carolina with my beautiful wife Jen and little nugget Claire Marie. You only live once, so you might as well do as much as you can, be influenced by as many people that you can and experience all the places that you can. “People have to eat…. what better passion to have then making yourself & other people, happy…….. with food!”
