    I grew up with this cake...yesterday I spent two hours going through my late Mother's recipes to find it. Decided to make it this morning and while it's in the oven googled the recipe. Voila, here it is...word for word. We left Wichita Falls, TX in 1960 for VA, so my Mother must have cut this out of a magazine in TX and stapled it to a 3X5 card.

    It's out of the oven and cooled...the aroma while baking is wonderful. It tastes just like I remembered...so good!

    Sounded yummy, but didn't have some of the ingredients. So I substituted 1/2 cup Brown Splenda for the sugar, 1/2 diced prunes for the raisins, 1 Tablespoon orange zest and 1/2 tsp orange extract for the vanilla, and 1/2 cup fresh orange juice since my oatmeal was not pasty. This finished product was very good. I will definitely make them again since I can store and eat on them all week. ...missed some salt so probably add 1/2 tsp salt next time.
    Thanks for getting me thinking on how to use leftover oatmeal...maybe meatloaf :-)

    Haven't tasted it yet, but just made this last night... been pining for a fix of orange chocolate since my terry's orange chocolate supply ran out from the UK. Two (early) notes: unfortunately it hasn't set as promised... I think it definitely needs more cornstarch in the recipe... perhaps another 1/2 a tablespoon... or maybe even more. Second note, the taste (of the mixture) is AMAZING! This is great. I did add some orange zest for flavor as well, but this pie is really good stuff, it seems. Can't wait to try it tomorrow with company.

    I have been enjoying your recipies for a long time now. Actually, my family thinks I am the best cook in the family since I started following your recipies. For that, I thank you.
    You seem to be very creative, and have a scientific knowledge of cooking skills. I was hoping you could direct me, or perhaps create a recipie for a Lemon Merrange Cake. Kinda like the Pumpkin Pie Cake where there is still creamy filling, but a crumble cake type topping. Thanks in Advance

    Hey there! I haven't been on this site in awhile but I remembered a recipe of yours and wanted to ask a quick question. Fall off the Bone Baby back ribs...can I use "beef chuck short ribs" and how will that effect the cooking time? I loved that recipe from what I remember.
