About me
I'm an idealist, an activist, a Sagittarius Ascendant Pisces, a Unitarian Universalist, a bridal consultant-turned-writer-turned-SAHM-turned-photographer-turned-sociology student (currently obsessing over which graduate school program to choose), a Navy wife, a mom to two-under-six. I have more ideas than I could possibly fulfill in ten lifetimes. I love (in no particular order): coastal living, Nikon and Leica gear, Le Creuset cookware, HueHueTenango coffee (organic, fair-trade, iced or cold, cream, no sugar, please and thank you!), Eddie Izzard, dry wines, talk radio, Quebec, nonfiction books, getting riled up about the injustices in the world, Monty Python, our Australian Shepherd (named Dharma), road trips, NYC, people who read, Netflix, New Orleans, singing karaoke in my car, learning, volunteering. I was born and raised in the southern US, but have lived in New England for the last 5 years. I try to get as much of our food from co-ops, farmer's markets, and CSAs as possible. BUY LOCAL! "Big Agra" sucks! I love experimenting with new or unusual flavors and recipes. I don't buy or cook with anything "grandma wouldn't have recognized as FOOD", as Michael Pollan would say. REAL food. No food-like substances born in a lab, no matter how many health claims they stick on the box. Why, yes, I AM a food snob! :)
